It has been a long road with this saw. I picked this saw up months ago in package deal with several other saws. She was powerhead only and was locked up. When I started going through the saw I found a galvanized nail jammed in the fly wheel which was preventing me from pulling the starter. I pulled out the nail and thought, that was an easy fix. Nope. The saw would pop-off, but ran at ~30,000 RPM. Alright, a carb rebuild and then we're back in business. Nope. When I took the carb off I noticed the intake boot was in pieces. Time to track down a new intake boot. I found one. I ordered the intake boot and while waiting for it to arrive I rebuilt the carb. That brings us to today. After all this, can I finally get this saw running??

Another cool video,,,,those vintage homelite 350/360 models have that strange transformer style ignition over the spark plug,,makes it a different cool piece,,nice for the collection,,,,,your intake boot sure was gone,,,you are going to have a nice saw when you are done,, I have a couple of these cool homelites as well,,again cool vid and good luck with your project

You're right, the transformer was not typical for Homelite. Like you, I really like the saw. I may look at picking up another in future. This saw is really clean for its age. It'll be a good runner when I get things figured out. Thanks for the kind words, I appreciate it!

good video! i’ve had fun with a 360 before. man it was ugly as sin but it ran like a champ and served its time. now i have a mint one im messing with, pulls fuel then dies out in a couple seconds of run time lol. carb kit en route! yet intake boot and all lines have been replaced.

Thanks! Owning two of these saws, you know how solid a runner they are. A carb kit and you'll be in business soon! The one I picked it didn't look good, but it sure cleaned up good. I'm really looking forward to getting this saw in the wood!

We have a 550 that needs the intake boot replaced. Just something I havent got around to fixing yet.

I get it. It's not a hard job, it just requires some time as you have to take a lot of the saw apart. I would love to pick up a 550 someday, great saw!

@@EightWheelsRollin I would part with the 550. Its just to modern for my liking. I prefer older saws. I just traveled 425 miles one way to buy a 1951 26 LCS. already got it running. We just posted a video of what i think is a C91 that has some kind of crankshaft clearance problem.

@@EightWheelsRollin Yes I got the LCS running. It has the float carb and the handle turns to keep the float vertical.
