Looks like the best part of your meal was the interesting salt and pepper shaker. I was surprised to see so much plastic coverings for the meal in Upper Class.

Yes they are but they also control the tv which is also touch screen? I’ve just always felt they’re a bit redundant & a waste of cash/tech upgrades on virgins part 😂 Thanks for your feedback, I really appreciate it x

Oh lovely, where are you travelling too? I really hope to be able to get away in June also, just waiting for my turn for vaccinations! Yes, you get a pass at check-in. The No.1 lounge was also open which I believe is larger but not sure if the pass allows you in here or you’d need to pay extra? Have a wonderful trip!

Thanks for your comment! The 787 upper class seat is a favourite of mine also! I’m yet to fly on the new a350 seat which I hope to do this year with miles. Fast-track security was closed, I’m assuming due to lower numbers in the airport. This was also the case in London Gatwick when I flew from there in December. I wasn’t disappointed by the flight as I’d set myself up for bare minimum food/alcohol offering onboard but I actually thought the service was good considering BA still offer a “packed lunch” style food in a box! I was pretty tipsy by the time we landed into Barbados 😂 The tickets were actually booked during the start of the pandemic and I was due to fly during the summer of 2020 so got a great deal on these seats, had I paid “normal” prices or used miles I would’ve been disappointed! I got another great deal in the Black Friday sale with virgin for the summer so fingers crossed that goes ahead! Do you have anything booked for this year? Thanks again for your comment Eddie!

@@inspiredadventures5793 I have only flown the A350 once and that was business class on Thai Airways. Only 4 seats across and every other window seat is staggered so if choosing the right seat it's almost like a private suite. Excellent service too. I have had some great flights with Virgin Upper Class and last time was on the B787 to San Francisco. A good crew and some really fun fellow travellers meant we kept the staff busy and hogged the bar for the whole flight! The crew even set up dining on the bar for two of us! Nowadays I mostly go to Asia and typically fly Thai Airways to Bangkok (where I am now and have been for last 11 months), EVA Air (via Taiwan) or Asiana Airlines (via Seoul). The Asian carriers offer exceptional service. Last time with Virgin was part of a round the world trip (LHR-SFO Virgin Upper Class then SEA-TPE-BKK EVA premium and then BKK-LHR Biz Class with THAI). I may do that again in 2022. For now I'm just holding a few Thai Air tickets between BKK-LHR and back for 2021. Some years have done the route 5 times a year. Sadly I don't see the travel experience ever being same again - it used to be a wonderful experience with service, quality food and premium beverages (especially Champagne) but I expect even after Covid there will be a lot of cost cutting and ultra strict precautions with regards to virus safety. Wishing you fun wherever you travel next. It's a big world waiting to be explored. Enjoy!

I was actually OK Fiona, you can take it off when you’re eating or drinking which obviously adds up throughout the flight. Virgin gave out little health packs which have medial grade masks inside but I also had my own fabric ones. Every person I saw was complying which put my mind at ease!

@@inspiredadventures5793 Sure they were all complying. Of course. Look at the kind of people who fly VA. The only people I have seen acting like boneheads over mask wearing are deplorable idiots. Like the people who crashed the US Capitol on Jan 6, 2021. 🙄🙄

Personally I’ve never had an encounter with a rude staff member at Virgin & I’ve flown with them many a time. They were certainly fantastic on this flight given the strange circumstances in relation to Covid/social distancing etc ☺️
