No but I’d recommend putting bags or cases down during the flight to stop people doing this. Having the baby seat/cradle blocks this space also x

This video is old and before they modernised the bedrooms. I’ve flagged with the hotel and they have ensured me this would not happen. For those who have holidays booked, just wanted to help reassure you!

This was taken at the end of autumn 2023. We had 7 rooms between the entire party (including the rooms we’d been moved to when our previous rooms were filthy), none of them had been modernised. No word of modernisation. Everyone in the hotel was complaining about how rundown it was. Regardless of the room situation now the customer service, or lack of, was poor. I didn’t even touch on the pool cafe as it was so bad but didn’t have any footage. Do your own research if you plan on going but my video can be used as a guide 👍🏻

We were so disappointed, we’ve been coming here for so long and it’s went downhill rapidly. I always say to do your research, there’s plenty more videos like mine showing what the hotel is really like. We ended up moving to the Rosen Inn a few hotels up, review video coming soon on that. Much better hotel & similar price point (slight higher price per night but completely worth it). Hopefully this review helps and sorry it wasn’t the positive review you were looking for 🫤

@lisadickinson6736 the poor service and cleanliness of the hotel will still be the same I’m sure. Both very poor regardless how shiny & new the room looks now. There’s lots of other videos like mine. I’m still waiting for a reply to my complaint! For anyone looking to book here, as always, do your research

They made an announcement to say the plane wasn’t full when we got on then during the flight a lovely member of staff asked if we wanted a whole row to let the kids lie down & sleep 🙂

Great video! Cannot wait to use the gym it’s really big and the biggest I’ve seen on a cruise ship. Are there free saunas and steam rooms like on Azura or do you have to pay for them on Iona?

The gym was enormous, much bigger than I expected! I was very impressed with the equipment and space. I don’t think there were free saunas/steams rooms (I can’t remember seeing one anyway). I’m back onboard the Iona in a few months so will report back then 😂

At the time (over 3 years ago) it was used as the Elegant Hotels “Quarantine Hotel” where everyone stayed before their results came back and they could move to the other, better hotels. It’s the smaller and more “intimate” of the hotels they have on the island but I agree that it’s in dire need of an upgrade. Possibly something they’ll do in the future but definitely the worst of the EH collection

Looks nice but try Sandals resort in Barbados everything is included food & drink ,the shuttle from Airport plus fight as a package deal .You get go to other Sandals resort which next door plus you get 12 restaurants no tipping 12 different pools and water sports not included is excursions but at of the end of the vacation bill is $0 .Me & wife had a blast l hook on Sandals their hospitality is way beyond l expected they go out of their way for you to enjoy your stay.

Not on this flight that I’m aware of but I’m sure they would for full flights. There was a hand baggage allowance of 1 cabin bag and 1 handbag/personal bag. I hope this helps 🙂

We were over on one bag and under on 2 others, they didn’t charge us. Whether they combined weights or just let it slide I’m not sure but they were very chilled about it in Manchester International

I only flew with Virgin once, in April of last year, from MCO to LHR on the A350 :-) Had a row of 3 seats all to myself, so I slept really well 🙂 Luckily I didn't have to change terminals to get to my connecting flight to Amsterdam. I'll be off to the sunshine state again in 12 days time, but I'll be flying Delta & KLM this time around. Got approved for Global Entry just last March and looking forward to using it for the first time 😁

Global entry is worth every single penny! As you saw in the video we breezed through customs! I’ve used it a few times since at jfk (on work trips) & again was through so quickly! Have a fantastic flight to Orlando ✈️☀️

Amazing vlog. I flew on the same plane and from the same gate number back in November last year. Brought back so many good memories. Going back again in November. Hoping to fly on the new A350-1000 the 300 looks outdated to me. But hey at least it gets you there,guess I'm being picky.

Does anyone know if the suites have a closed bedroom area to the lounge area where the sofa bed is? Is there a big difference between the Junior suite and the 1 bed suite other than size?

This is one of the best reviews I've watched - informative, succinct, and I like that you are showing the product (the walk in the airport; the actual airport lounge! The menu!). rather than a lot of footage of the reviewers' faces - your amount of footage for a specific sub-topic is spot on. I'm heading over to one of your other videos. (I'm hopeful that there will not be a lot of excess footage of the wing/take off, etc.). I hope you post more reviews of different classes. I'm trying to suss out the differences between the different Premium Economy offerings. One last comment/question: Do you happen to know how the lounge was with dietary needs? I noticed a lot of wheat on the menu and wondered if there was a way to request gluten free? Thank you.

Thanks for sharing your experience. We've been mulling this over for a while now and had concerns about the mixed reviews (although the vast majority were good). This swayed us. It does look a little old and tired in places, but overall looks good. So we booked!

Not with VA unfortunately just with British Airways a few times. I’ve seen lots of changes coming into play on Virgins Instagram however such as the bar area being open!

Leaving the UK it wasn’t free no, but the government option of testing when landing into Barbados was free. There is an option to pay for a fast tack test which took around 24 hours and I think was $200 at the time

At the time we had them done they were approx 72 hours but I suppose it depends how busy the testing facility/labs are at the time! Hope this helps!

Great video, also love hearing your accent since it makes me homesick :) I'm traveling VA upper class in September, finally going home to Scotland after 2 years! I live in NC. Only question I have, I've flown VA UC a few times before but for business and I was alone. This time hubby is coming too.. which seats do you recommend for us traveling together? Next to each other or across the aisle on the K side?

I read about a water taxi taking guests to other sister hotels. Which ones are they and does your AI apply at these also? Re water sports, do you have stand up paddle boards for guests? Thanks.

Hi Tom, if you watch my video around the 13:00 mark you’ll see the water taxi in question. Yes your AI status is honoured at the other Elegant Resorts which was very much welcomed for a change of scene! I think I remember seeing others using the stand-up paddle boards but don’t quote me as I didn’t use them myself!

There wasn’t any kids entertainment when we were here, the kids club was actually closed. The food & drink was really good, plenty of choice, fresh & well cooked. Kids food wasn’t out in the buffet area, we had to order it separately which was fine but we didn’t know this until the second last evening. In terms of beaches, I’ve only ever been on the West Coast of Barbados so I can’t comment on the other coast beaches I’m afraid. Hopefully this helps a little!

@@inspiredadventures5793 the rooms look different yes, but the outside looks the same to me, we wrote our names in the pebbles in the pond too. The staff felt like friends, wonderful people. We kept in touch with the lad who helped us with our luggage and showed us where our room was. Like l say, it felt like home to us, only hotter 🤣.

My wife and I have been visiting Crystal Cove Hotel for many years, the hotel is a nice & small complex, the staff are always pleasingly pleasant. We are eager to return when travel restrictions from UK are relaxed, possibly later part of 2021.

We are thinking of going with 2 children, reviews appear to be mixed. Are all drinks in with their price? My main concern is that the rooms are tired and dingy.

Hey 👋🏻 How old are the children? We took a 3 year old & they loved it! When we went the kids club was closed due to covid but I believe it’s open now. The pool was good and being a stones throw from the beach was fantastic, lots of water activities to keep them amused which are free! Also being able to go between resorts is good for a change of scene for them/you! All mainline drinks were included (JD, absolut vodka etc), but you’ll pay a surcharge at the coffee/wine bar for some wines and champagnes. The rooms aren’t super modern but are nice, very clean and comfortable. No complaints from us about the rooms at all! Hopefully this helps 🙂 Let me know if you chose here in the end!

Honestly, we didn’t venture too far as the resort was really nice! We went to one of the sister hotels one evening as they had entertainment on & we wanted to try the restaurant. We also did a guided round the island & a boat trip but we didn’t actually wander in the immediate area outside of the resort. Sorry I can’t be anymore use! Taxis were readily available & well priced however

I believe it’s Virgins way of trying to become more sustainable, which I think is largely welcomed. I do agree to an extent, I miss the Herschel amenity bags, they felt a bit more luxurious!
