Great video as always with fantastic drone shots; AND...of course those little cheeky short comedy-clips which are very much your trade-mark and usually make me laugh-out-loud. I spent a few months on Hofsa' a medium size farm in Svafathardallur and have many fond memories. Sheep cows horses and chickens. Cutting hay and hauling into the barn. Country dances are better than discos any day. The farm I stayed with had a beautiful waterfall behind it and an old 1931 farmhouse built of concrete, it was perfect setting for a movie about the depression years in Iceland. Any comments on this movie or another movie called The Raven Flies would be much appreciated

Another fine view to a town we visited several times during the last 40 years, watching it growing. Thank you for all the information you never get, when just driving by or taking a walk. And now we know, that we have been close to you, when we were building our tent on the camping-side in Akureyri or enjoying the fabulous pool. Have a nice and healthy future and many spectacular drone-flights over your home-country. And by the way, I even understood the last words of the poem and enjoyed it very much.

I love these background stories about places I've only passed through (in this case, to catch the ferry to Grimsey). I've always lived in big cities, so it's really fascinating to me how you can trace the beginnings to the first settlers in the area, the first house still standing.

The troll and the pot does it not come from the Westfjords ?😊 I think i saw it once over there on a look out at a ravine......maybe. Waiting for the next video. Would you ever like, maybe, to make a video about abandoned places, really love that🤪

In fact, I'm into this "abandoned" niche when it comes to my own KZfaq usage :) and I made this video few yrs back when I was starting my own channel. But I would have done it better today :) but yes, it's something that fascinates me in a way so I'm sure if I find the right places with the right mood, I might go into that niche, and thanks for visiting :) kzfaq.info/get/bejne/bZmAp7CjycC4XWw.html

Fascinating history with that big quake. Given the possibility for a magnitude 7, in what must be shallow coastal areas, is there any danger tsunami and is there any history of such in and around Icelandic waters (I guess there are too many other risks to worry about such a thing, but with growing population and industry I wondered whether any resources are dedicated to such research/preparedness? UK was once hit by a massive tsunami from Norway, and rumours of one long ago from the mid Atlantic (I guess it might even have been Iceland for all we know).
@JustIcelandic
@JustIcelandic 2 жыл бұрын
You went straight into the core of the video I'm brewing up these days :) or the tsunami risk. There are ancient stories of such around there, seamen drowned on Skjálfandi-bay during the 18th century, after an earthquake. but it's just a thing I'm working on trough lots and lots of browsing..., but not a single króna has been invested in tsunami research here in Iceland, ever....so I want to prepare that video especially well....

Hello, I really enjoy your videos, was wondering if you could be interested in starting another channel, I was a young lad when I lived in Keflavik. Our icelandic teacher would read fables to us. Not sure where they came from. The one that has stayed with me all these years, well there was a boy who was gifted a sword that would re attach limbs lost in battle. I can't remember more then then that now. Back to the question, could please perhaps read a couple of those old fables? Even if just for posterity.

It's a good idea but I'm afraid it's out of my reach since just this channel is still far from giving me fair return for the work I'm putting into it, but it's a long time goal so I remain hopeful, and thanks for the suggestion :) appreciated...
