Even though several years ago, my doctor told me that I had a vitamin D deficiency, I didn't start taking vitamin D seriously until I heard doctors talking about the role vitamin D plays in preventing COVID-19 and COVID-19 deaths. Now, I am learning there is a connection between the lack of vitamin D and hair loss. Prior to watching this video, a lack of vitamin B was connected to hair loss and it still can be. So, for me, the moral of this story is, people, just take your vitamins!

I have had low Vitamin D for years. I have spent almost daily time outdoors for 30 plus years with it still remaining low. My fibromyalgia doctor prescribed prescription at one point. I take OTC daily now. Makes me wonder how many other issues could have been avoided by having a doctor who would spend the time to not just treat but explain why it was necessary in such an easy to listen to non rushed way.

I told my Doctor about my panic attacks he suggested my Vitamin D might be low. He did a Vitamin D test and I was below 20. He prescribed Vitamin D 5000 IU daily after taking for about two weeks my panic attacks are now almost gone. I believe there is a correlation between Vitamin D deficiency and depression and for the record I am diabetic.

Fatigue is associated with a lot of vitamin deficiencies. What is it about having Type 1 diabetes and low Vitamin D levels? I take VD3 50,000IU once a week when tested it was extremely low. I felt tired and kept a lot of upper respiratory infections. Now that I've been taking VD3 I am so much better. I take mine in the morning with a fatty food

@@SugarMDs Could OXALIC ACID be the cause of Diabetes type 2 (oxalates in the liver), fibromyalgia, kidney stones, and gout (uric acid +oxalates). VITAMIN D3 (50ng/ml) + Chromium makes an enzyme called oxalic acid reductase that converts oxalic acid to lactic acid. Metformin causes lactic acidosis as a result of chelating oxalates to oxalic acid (then in turn gets converted to lactic acid by methylation.)They should try at least 4000 IU vitamin and add chromium. Most enzymes and proteins made by vitamin D3 hormone upregulation are at the vitamin D3 blood level @50ng/ml eg. glutamylcysteine ligase. Metformin and citrate chelate oxalates can be determined by test tube studies in calcium oxalate. They should try vitamin D3 (4,000 IU) and chromium. Chromium is expected to be deficient as a porphyria (co-porphyrin-1)develops in the autistic that have high oxalic acid levels and low vitamin D3 status based on the lack of glutathione which removes heavy metals from the body. They should try chromium 200 mcg along with the D3 to remove oxalic acid by converting it to lactic acid. It would make for a very interesting study to gauge the porphyria (co-porphyrin-1) in type 2 diabetics? have been doing this for people for 9 years now. I am telling them to go to their physician and see if they want to monitor their vitamin D3 level along with getting chromium in their diet. I tell them the first time they take vitamin D3, calcium citrate and chromium to expect leg cramps or diarrhea due to the production of lactic production. Everyone who has followed through this process of taking vitamin D3 up to 50 ng/ml blood level along with getting chromium are no longer diabetic. Some even said thank you for the heads up on the lactic acid buildup and for helping them with their diabetes. I have no lab once I discovered the link between autism and diabetes is oxalic acid and that there is one porphyria in the autistic is elevated. I reasoned that chromium was the atom at the center of the porphyrin ring for an enzyme that converts oxalic acid to lactic acid as oxalic acid levels are increased in autism, fibromyalgia, gout, and kidney stones (these comorbidities are elevated in type 2 diabetes . RAR receptor (vitamin A or (pio)/ (ros)glitazone) is also linked as the vitamin D receptor is associated with vitamin A expression vector. Tumor necrosis factor is also controlled by vitamin D3 levels as a repression @ 50ng/ml. I have been nondiabetic for over nine years now. The paleo diet also works for type 2 diabetes because the liver is rich in chromium (Kale, egg yolks)and vitamin D3.

I had blood work done today and was surprised to find out my vitamin D was 16.7. One of the reasons I had the blood work done was because I was soooo tired and depressed. This might explain it. Now I have to decide which brand supplement to buy.

Dr your information is so much appreciated and very easily understood. I have been asking my Dr for 3years why I am loosing so much hair but she couldn’t tell me why or didn’t even bother to do my Vitamin D tests especially when I’m a full blown T2D 8.6 A1C who became from 130lbs to 182 in 4 months I had to seek advice and do my own research so I treated myself completely. Walked 1000 steps a day 5days a week walked incline of stairs 10floors ate salads chicken breast thighs no fruits only berries but at sourdough bread aged Balderson cheese Greek yogurt red onions cabbage cucumbers olives apple cider vinegar and in 6 months became 130lbs A1C 6.3

I went to my PCP and she mentioned I was a bit low on Vitamin D so she gave me a prescription for "heavy duty" Vitamin D. She also mentioned I am just below pre-diabetic. Okay, that worried me a bit. After watching your videos I understand what to do and what she might have said (I doubt it) and I didn't understand it. Thank you so much for your videos.

Thanks Dr. Egrin for your informative videos. Diabetes, especially Type 1 and Brittle can be so confusing and hard to find the proper balance. If only every new patient could sit down in their Endocrinologist’s office and listen to you before starting out on their own, or after a 10-20 minute appointment which leaves one more confused on their way home, what a healthier world we would have. I do admit though . . . at least they ARE now offering diabetes education classes with a Diabetic Nurse, but still these are a bit too short in time and leave a lot of questions unanswered. Listening to your input about Vitamins I have had an “ah-ha” moment, so next appointment I will be sure to list my symptoms and hope for the proper blood tests. I am currently dealing with my own set of symptoms which make me think I need to run (IF only my sore feet would allow it, LOL) not walk to my next appointment. During Covid we have been doing Tele-medicine appointments which is a great way to check in every 3-4 months and I can also see this as becoming more of a new normal. I do admit, being able to be at home while chatting with my doctor does help me to stay a bit more focused. At the moment my main concerns are that I have a “frozen shoulder” causing a lot of pain, and steroid shots and I are a “NO GO”, as I can slip into DKA in a heartbeat, plus the muscle pain and bone pain, plus depression and lately I can easily become aggravated and feeling at a loss for the desire to keep on living. When the temper tantrum’s start (I am 59, I know better than to “lose it” like I do, scary) I simply go put myself in a Time Out like I would a child. So yes, I am in need of some help indeed. I have seen many of your videos which I do share especially when I learn so much from you. So thanks again, you are very generous to do what you are doing and I am happy to know your life is treating you well and that you get plenty of your Vitamin D from the sun. I shall go out each morning to get 10-15 minutes for starters, along with chatting with my doctor. Sending ☮️ and 🙏🏻 from sunny 🌞 Arizona. Enjoy those water sports!

Excellent video about Vitamin D. What is the best way to prepare for the winter months when the sun is at a very shallow angle and our natural vitamin D levels go down? Also about your intermittent fasting video, during the fasting days how many calories can I consume for lunch and dinner? Is it okay to fast more than 3 times a week?
