FREE GUY is like a combination of The Lego Movie and Truman Show

I still tear up at the end when she realizes *why* Guy was programmed to fall in love with a girl exactly like her.

I cried hard when I saw this. "What does that mean? Look, brother. I am sitting here with my best friend, trying to get him through a rough time. And even if I'm not real.... this moment is."

This movie hit me so much harder than I expected. It got so existential and deep. I cannot WAIT to see what Ryan and Shawn Levy do with Deadpool 3!

First off, just the way Dude goes "Catchphrase!" never fails to make me laugh. I really enjoyed the way Guy is portrayed. Second, when Guy brought out Cap's shield, I cracked up. Then when Chris showed up as a cameo, I lost it and fell off my seat. So hysterical. I dressed up as Guy a couple times for Halloween.

So severely underrated. I don't think it needs a sequel. It's extremely rewatchable.

the talk he has with his friend at 20:05 is so eye opening in the best way. I think we all need a friend to keep us grounded at times.

It was surprisingly good, the best part is that script is clearly written by someone who actually plays games.

This is what I always thought of NPCs in games when I was younger. I just couldn't stomach being evil my first few playthroughs of the Fable games.

The sadder version of "Fantasy" at the end, was actually performed by Jodie Comer, who played Millie/Molotov.

I really like this movie. It feels like it was actually written with some knowledge about real gaming and games. There was so much potential to mess this up, but they made not just a good movie... they made a great movie.

Back when I played City of Heroes, they had a glitch one night. The NPCs had spawn points and would start to wander around the city. That night, they spawned, but didn't wander. There were just scores of NPC's standing in lines by lamp posts, or mail boxes, or bus tops. The visibility of the zone also has a decimal move, so you could only see a few dozen feet before things grayed out, like being in a heavy fog. It was one of the creepiest things that ever happened in a game. In Silent Hill, you expected it to be creepy, so it wasn't. Here, you had three years of normal behavior as a baseline, then it all just stopped.

Hey, just a heads-up, G2A's methods of obtaining game keys for cheap are highly suspect and under a lot of scrutiny. I'd recommend doing some research and taking a second look at whether you're really sure you want to be advertising for them. Good vibes to you as always!

Got a real kick out of the Chris Evans cameo, especially the cursing, given Steve's proclivities... 😆 Don't recall if you're already reacted to it, but I recommend Ready Player One.

Shawn Levy makes INCREDIBLE films that I love. We NEVER expected a film about a Saint's Row/GTA game NPC to be SO GODDAMN heartfelt. The cast, the soundtrack, the story, the humor, hell even the graphics all AMAZING(also you gotta LOVE the inclusion of legit streamers).

Bubblegum ice cream is 100% a real thing, and I love it.

LOVE this movie! Love that you caught the appearance by Channing Tatum, and the cameo from Chris Evans, but also kinda laughing that you didn't seem to catch the voice cameos from Hugh Jackman and Dwayne Johnson. Also, fun fact: that slower (sadder as you said) version of "Fantasy" was actually sung by the actress who plays Millie.

Fun fact: I haven’t played a video game since the year 2000. That was Legend of Zelda on Sony PlayStation. I still LOVED Free Guy. I found it delightful and heartwarming plus it was filled with lots of old school pop culture references. It was brilliantly written and the cast could not have been better. It is my favorite movie of the last few years and much of the “gaming” aspect I didn’t even get. It was just a great movie. Full disclosure: I only watched until the end for your Channing Tatum reaction. I subscribed because I think you are sweet and your personality is very refreshing. 😊 You’ve given me hope for your generation. Much love kiddo.

Hey V, while I can appreciate you getting your sponsorships and making money to support yourself whenever possible - honestly, gotta respect the hustle - I just need to put out a caution for anybody thinking of purchasing with G2A: They've had a _long_ running history of 3rd party sellers on their website buying keys with stolen credit cards and then reselling the keys on G2A to effectively launder that stolen money into their own bank accounts. When the credit card eventually revokes the payment, the developer deactivates the game key and the person who bought it on G2A is just entirely out of luck. G2A facilitated this kind of stuff for so long that they even added an extra "protection plan" payment option you could make to G2A _directly_ that basically said G2A would agree to give you a new key if the one you bought ended up being revoked because of credit fraud. While they've reportedly gotten a _little_ bit better about not having blatant credit fraud keys being sold on their website as often, it still happens frequently enough that it gets brought up in gaming communities regularly and G2A's business directly facilitates such activities. Very, very shady re-seller and the very definition of "grey market" game keys. A lot of game developers even released public statements at the height of G2A's popularity saying they would prefer you to pirate their games than buy them from places like G2A or Kinguin because of the sheer number of charge-back requests and fees they have to process from these resellers and the stolen game keys that they end up having to revoke. While I did have a couple of successful purchases from them early in their business's lifetime - before I found out about all of this - I would not recommend the site to anyone that I know, especially now. Exercise extreme caution and care when interacting with G2A and hold the expectation that your miraculously cheap game key might end up getting revoked out of the blue one day.
