Trev gets Poshcats van conversion Smirf ready and reverses the winterisation process and starts a very long tiring journey to Bath Chew Valley Caravan Park. We take a look around the campsite and drive to the Bath Park and Ride where we spend a few hours wandering around the Bath Christmas Markets.

Snow is so much prettier than rain. Rain is what we're supposed to get for Christmas. But least we'll have warmer temps, I guess. Nice showing how you prepare the van for a trip. Lovely drive. I used to prefer to drive later in the evening and into the overnight hours. But now I like to see where what we're passing along the way. So we've kind of tried to stop traveling overnight unless it's an area we've already been to multiple times. Love the Christmas decorations at the park. Oh that stinks about the parking restrictions. I do love these Christmas market things. So awesome. Makes me want to run out and do some shopping lol. I have no time. I'm supposd to be making candies right this minute, but I wanted to catch up on your video first. I have a busy next several days. Grumpy's shed aaaaaaaaaahahaha. Need that to say Grumpy's garage and put it in the garage for Jessie. Shhhhh don't tell him I said that 😆A nice little shop is a great name for a shop! Very clever. Love the gnomes. My son collects them. Neat books. Wow those church bells are really going. It sure adds to the feel of the area. Great segment. Look forward to the next.

Thank you so much. We like daytime driving best for the same reasons. However with short winter days it’s sometimes unavoidable in the UK. We enjoyed the atmosphere in Bath and the markets were fantastic but a little expensive for some of the items on sale 😀🎄 Trev n Sue

Hi Trev and Sue hope you’ve had a wonderful Christmas and what a great video so very festive love bath it’s one of my favourite cities and must get to the Christmas market looks great! Looks like you all had a great time after that horrible journey and Trev I feel for you driving all that way we’ve had the same going to Kent and east anglia doesn’t take much to snarl up the traffic! Hi Daniel, thanks so much for all your support with comments on our videos. You are right, it was a painful journey but I tried very hard not to let it spoil our experience of Bath. The low emissions zone and the height barriers at the park and ride added to our frustration but once we got into the city, it was a beautiful experience. The markets didn’t seem as busy as we expected and it was the weekend too. I hope this isn’t going to discourage folks from visiting in future, as at the time it didn’t seem like progress to us. Like we often say on reflection, there’s nothing more certain than change. Happy New Year 🥳 Trev

Good Evening, lovely vlog as always. Loved the snow covering on the van, very festive! Can get quite pricey plugging in can’t it - crazy it’s cheaper to burn LPG eh! Hopefully cost will come down again in the future, same with electric cars, cheaper with Petrol or diesel at times! Interesting that they take the caravans to the pitch on the site. Looked nice and always good to see the Christmas decorations 🎄 Haven’t been to Bath for years, lovely city and cracking market. Yes quite a unique site and very enjoyable. A lot of attention to detail by the site managers. I really don’t know where EVs are going and I have tried to avoid the topic as it’s so divisive at the moment. Bath Christmas markets were much better this year and both Kev and I couldn’t keep up with the girls 😂 Happy Christmas to you both 🎅🏽🤶🎄 Trev n Sue 💙

I was shouting at the TV “Trev” the drain tap is open. It took you such a long time to get there and Sue didn’t look very happy - I feel very guilty 😬. Chew Valley looks like a lovely campsite though 👍. The Christmas market looked fab - gutted we had to miss out. Looking forward to the next instalment of the trip xx

No need for you to feel guilty. Ipswich was horrible and the bridge closures always gridlock the town. That’s what was the start of our journey which meant we effectively didn’t leave home until late morning. The site was lovely and the markets really started the tour with a buzz. Woah what a journey!! 😨. You must have both been completely done in at the end of that. But looked a lovely site. What’s with the P&R height restriction? Crazy really isn’t it. Bath looks lovely especially at Christmas. We have never been to Bath. Through it a few times - must make up for that soon. Interested to see how you set up the van for travel Trev. It reflected how we felt and yes, we just went straight to bed when we got there, it was a long day. Diesel heaters are great and easy to fit Trev wouldn’t be without ours now 😉 bit of a nightmare getting there but site looked nice even if a bit different having your car away from your caravan not seen it done like that before 🤔 Not been to Bath for a few years but looked nice still 😃 Stay Safe 😜👍

We have considered diesel heaters but rejected them on the noise and smells. With LPG becoming more difficult to find, we may opt for it in our next van though. We have seen the site managers put vans on pitches elsewhere. Tregarten Park in Cornwall do it as the site is on tiers. It’s really good as it saves a lot of time on arrival but you do have to wait to be removed from your pitch at the end. I think the idea is to preserve the grass and gardens from customers driving over them and to minimise traffic on the site too 😀 Bath is beautiful but now has a LEZ so becoming more difficult to access like many other popular places. The dog walk is right next door to the forest trail. This site seems to have a lot of rules and T&Cs but it didn’t trouble us. All I would say is make sure you arrive in daylight as it’s tucked away in a narrow lane off the main road 😃👍🏻 Trev
