Yes!! My parents have a 2013 e-up, and it's awesome! I drove it on a 1400km roadtrip (Kragerø-Trondheim and back) this summer, it handled it beautifully. The 40kw charging speed was ok because it's so damn efficient. Lots of fun to drive, and it looks great, especially the older version in my opinion.

Excellent choice for a second EV. A few years ago an EV could only be considered as a second car ( Low range, Slow AC charging, Few public charging stations). Now with cars like Tesla Model 3 and plenty of fast chargers an EV can be a perfect first car and a VW e-UP is a perfect second city car, Good choice Bjorn. @@HermanWillems Yes, I agree. The NEW E Up, from all the reports I can find from VW and Skoda, it and sister cars are expected to be higher spec plus real world range of 300km/186 mile range using the higher capacity cells and bigger battery. I can only hope this is the case as it will be a viable town and short trip vehicle. VW also indicated (or admitted, dependant on which source you read) that they would not be creating a new B segment EV, and that E UP would be it (coming along with Citigo and E Mii in 2019) and will be priced under the MEB platforms coming in 2020-so around the 21,000 mark average. Fingers crossed this is true, and given VW push with electrification this does seem likely. I for one will be test driving this. BIG fly in the ointment will be the revised ZOE coming this year. . . .

VW really has already a strong lineup, they want the world dominance in EV cars in the future, they are putting a lot of effort in new EVs the next years.(good fast charging network needed for that) Never even considered a fossil VW in my life, that is about to change with the VW EVs.

Look at virtually every other country where that resource is sold out to a business interest. the only legacy they leave behind is just inequality and devastation. Lower battery capacity means less battery cells. So each battery cell needs to charge and discharge more times to reach same amount kw/h compared to a car which have larger battery capacity. So E-UP's battery will lose its capacity faster by km.

But e-Up has very low consumption. A full charge can get you 100-120 km. And the car doesn't allow you to go to 100 % because it has a top buffer. So degradation in e-Up is way lower than Leaf.

Given the popularity and performance of the Model 3 and the reduced prices for S and X, used competitor electric cars will become cheaper, too. E-Up, E-Golf, Leafs. The current deal on the French pre-order site, new208booking.peugeot.fr/fr, is a 48 month leasing option that apart from the monthly fees cost the same for the gasoline, diesel and electric GT variants. The price difference comes down to €30 each month more for the EV(€299) than for the gasoline version(€269), or €10 more than for the diesel(€289). Sorry if this is a silly question, can I ask: does this mean you used around 90 kWh of energy to cover those 610 Km based on 15.4 kWh/per 100km's?

Some quick Asian math: 8.8 kWh bumped SoC from 6% to 62% so 15.7 kWh usable. Avoid wifey anxiety by staying above 20% SoC so 7.85 KWH usable. Heating in winter ? I get 20 - 25 miles all season range in Norway. You are a smart fellow Bjorn, but are you sure about this ?
@ericgold3840
@ericgold3840 5 жыл бұрын
Sorry, error: 12.56 kWh usable above 20% SoC so about 7 kWh all season range. Maybe up to 30 miles range.
