Well...I got there, and I can tell you now, there was a time where I didn't think I was going to be able to finish this mod off; it felt like I bit off, from than I could chew. But, I'm thankful I was able to do it.
With anything, you need just time, patience, and some good space. Car felt great after the quick test drive, and hopefully I'll be able to see my intake temps soon too (hint hint for the next mod).

Good vid mate, I feel your pain watching this. Any time I try doing something simple it grows arms and legs and before you know it, a full day is gone.

You can leave the crash bar on and head lights in. Remove the slam panel crash bar and lights in one. If you want factory style the rad pack comes with the slam as well

Contents improving ranj ! even with all the ball ache on this job you'll appreciate the car more 100% ... but i have to say this is one job i did not tackle myself! when i took my S3 8v to stage 3.. even being an engineer as trade + similar age to you by the looks of it ...paid Aweosme the £200 to fit it ! they managed it without degassing the air con rad too ! . Went for the racing line intercooler. By the time you factor in the re-gassing costs and stress id pass for sure on this DIY mod along with the uprated control arms and Polly bushes what a dog they are to fit ! personal experience of mine ... P.S ranj for stage 3; id personally steer clear of the VIS Motorsport HPFP i had mine fail in the first 250 miles on day 2 seems quite common with them "faulty batches" i know 034 + autotech do one for the minimal ££ thats the only thing i would have changed with my stage zero to stage three journey.

Thanks for comment, really appreciate it. £200 is great value! Tbh, I think the difficulty was the weather, and overall surrounding. The hardest bit was the trimming. I've actually got a for a whole new HPFP, and LPFP. Autotech is just the internals I believe. I'm super excited to get it back! Nice, you changed the mounts too!

Apparently the VIS hpfp internals outlast the auto tech hpfp

Good job man, not an easy one to get it done. I've left that to professional with engine/transmission mounts too (first time around) and in the end one mount wasn't set properly and ended up breaking! Over confident professionals can be worse than slow but more careful DIY way :)

good video, Ranj i feel your pain went through the same fitting my intercooler, i went for the Revo Intercooler as it was guaranteed to fit with no trimming of the radiator surround, luckily they were correct. an issue i found was i upgraded the intercooler hoses as well and didn`t appreciate how tight you had to refasten them back on, i had two blow off when booting the car.

Oh god, I hope I don't have that issue. I might raise it to my tuner! Then again, I did tighten them quite good I think.

I have two questions regarding the s3, my one does these two things and wanted to know if it is normal 1. When driving in eco/comfort and when coming to a standstill stop the revs go up to 1k then drop back down to idle 2. When in dynamic and sports gearbox sometimes when coming to a stop the car tevs just over the normal 1.1k and then drops back down to 1.1k but I have only recently noticed this

Would of thought that the fmic in these mqb chassis cars would have it positioned outfront like all the jap motors used to have them out front so all the open air would hit the fmic allowing better cooling for the turbo but these are stuck behind the radiator. I know of the APR fmic for the gen3 ea888 is positioned outfront but they are like 1k in price

I had the same thought. I know the RS3 are out facing, but apparently they don't perform as well as the EA888 MQB fmic which is in a sandwich.
