Wainwright's coast to coast day three is comnonly regarded as the longest, hardest day of the entire walk.....and for good reason. ‪@moosteroutdoors88‬ and I met up with ‪@adaminthewild8915‬ and ‪@CampingDan85‬ at the Borrowdale yha, the first summit of the day was Linning crag, the route there through Borrowdale was just stunning, the final ascent a little tricky, and unfortunately the views from the top blocked by fog. We then descended behind Gubson knott and Helm Crag into Grasmere for a beer and a snack. Then the tough climb up to Grizedale tarn, which took its toll on Mooster, it was clear at this point we were not going to make the summit of angle tarn for a wildcamp as planned. Dan stayed with Mooster, Adam and I went ahead, Adam to sort out the campsite in Patterdale, and I to run 4 miles further to get the car ( as it was clear Mooster wouldn't be able to walk far in the morning) i got the car back to Patterdale and met back up with Adam in the pub, where he told me the campsite was shut, we looked on Google maps and found a cheeky stealth camp spot for them, Dan and mooster arrived at 20:30 and we got them set up, at this point I was very tired and decided to go home and return in the morning to take Mooster for his car.
