I still remember Tosh singing this on "SNL" back in the late 70's. Mick came onstage as a total surprise to the audience for his verse, and that still stands to me as one of the coolest(perhaps the single coolest)moments in SNL history.

@@kelsonlaborde8645Peter and Mick Jaggers version is better than the Temptations original version. I don't care what anyone says cause Peter Tosh is the King of Reggae 💚💛❤️ however I'm glad Mick Jagger and the Stones are still rocking and shocking plus I heard Mick celebrated his 80th birthday this year in 2023 and this year is Peter's 36th anniversary of his death at the hands of Tosh's so called friend Dennis leppo.

When he landed in Swaziland, he stepped off the jet with a fat joint. Fans on the tarmac (designated area) were happy and shouting. One fan shouts.... "who gave you permission?" (to be smoking the joint) Peter just took a big drag, held the joint high and said *"I am permission "* . Well... let me tell you.... EVERYONE at the concert got high. Whether you smoked or not. One of the best concerts of my life.

You can tell drugs was the glue in their friendship and music collaboration. Peter tolerates Micks shenanigans a lot in this video, that means he’s spent time with him and understood his background and personality. Besides, it’s on record that British & Jamaican people get along pretty well, it precedes colonial ties, they just get along, it’s so strong that the Patios lingo dominates black-dominated areas in the UK. Anyway great collaboration, one is a kid from trenchtown🇯🇲and the other is a kid from Kent🇬🇧 coming together through music. I rate this song 9/10 👏🏾

The places behind you let them re-remind you If your first lover broke your heart, There's something that can be done. You don't run it, you don't hide it, you don't run it Don't end your faith in love because of what he's done. So if you just put your hand in mine, We're gonna leave all our troubles behind. Keep on walking and don't look back. Forget about the past now. Don't look back, baby. Keep on walking and don't look back The places behind you let them re-remind you.

This is classic, one of my favorite tunes performed by Peter tosh, written by Ronald White and William Anderson, performed previously by the Temptations a capella. On another note we have "British Rock Star Sociological Exhibit 101- the cocaine strut, performed flawlessly by a well known heavy cocaine user at the time- Mick Jagger" LOL. Hey man, don't kill the messenger ;-)

My son told me about seeing ska band in Victoria, BC last night. Got me remembering how much I loved reggae and Peter Tosh. Decided to do a video search of Peter and came across this. Never saw it before. Amazing! Love it. So glad I found it. Im 77.

Nothing but respect for Peter Tosh and this amazing song, but when I saw this video I gotta say I was worried about Mick Jagger! No idea how much speed or cocaine he snorted right before he walked out on to the set (I'm not sure if freebasing was even around back then). Anyway, it's about 40 years later and Mick is still with us while unfortunately Peter Tosh is not. Two of the absolute greatest.
