Walther PD380 | Not what I Expected!

The Walther PD380 is the newest pistol in the Walther Line-up. It sports Walther PDP like slide and ergonomic, however in a 380acp package. I am a big Walther Fan so to say I am excited to try this pistol is an understatement!

I just picked up the PD380 about a week ago. I bought it for my wife but I'm keeping it lol. Going to have to get another. Placing my holster order today. Thank you Kevin!

i like the honesty. I want 380 of this size and not super micro like Ruger LCP. I wish Walther would put out subcompact PDP in 9mm and 380 instead of this.

I have been waiting on this gun for months, ever since the press release. I went to my L.G.S. to buy it and walked out with the Sig P365 380 instead. You are spot on with your review. With a 9 round capacity. poor trigger, and the barrel too long/slide to large, Walther did not get my money. They really missed the mark on this one. So sad.

Excellent choice. The Sig is very accurate, very low recoil, and great trigger. Have 600+ rds through mine. Can't run Fiocchi through it but American Eagle Sig, and Remington are fine.

I bought the ruger 1st for my wife and as a back up gun and we had reliability issues with it. I bought the walther and its veen awesome. 100 percent reliability. Use it as a back up gun and when i wear basketball shorts. My wife likes it has no slide stop.

check out Ruger Security 380. It's not super micro and has good trigger. For whatever reason, i dont shoot it well but i'm pretty sure it's my fault. By any objective measure, it's a good gun.

Kevin I have two of your holsters I wanted to say I really like your product and I'm excited you are doing reviews now. I think you're spot on with this the PD380 comes off as a big eff you from Walther they know what we want. Or it's just pure laziness on their part. The equivalent of turning in a blank job application that says see resume. First the marketing snafu with the pdp-f and now trying to rebrand an old pistol as something new makes it seem like they really don't care.

I love my PDP, heavily considering this, the one thing that bothers my on the PDP is the bladed trigger dingus, glad to see the went with a wide and non-dingus trigger here You forgot about, my EDC right now, the Ruger Security 380, up to double the capacity of this or the EZ,hammer-fired, and the slide is easier to manipulate than the EZ

The G25 has been out for a long time, just not in US market because the lack of demand. If I ever get hands on one I will gladly compare. Thanks for watching!

Get a P365-380 instead. 10+1 round plus optics ready in a smaller size that is super easy to shot.

It hasn’t anywhere that I know of. We are one of only holster companies doing holsters for them and the demand is super low

I have a double/single action Beretta I don't think I have fired it a single time in double action, lol. I manually cock it every time, completely a habit by now.

Index + thumb = slide release; just like on a PPK ~ ! (Less snag potential, is all why it was spec'd out like this) sorta "KISS" designed...

Don't expect Walther to follow trends. That's one thing they have been adamant about talk to any Walther employee that is what they say. They don't care about competing with Sig 365 or the anything else.

I used to be a big Walther guy, but the PDP line I've came to dislike. I don't care for anything they're coming out with either. They keep running promotions, so things must not be selling all that well. I sent every PDP back during the 30 day period. I just didn't like them. The PPQ line is still better IMO. I'd like Walther to come out with a double stack 9 that is easy to conceal like the X-Macro. That PDP slide is a monster compared to my Glock 45.

Yeah just personal preferences for sure. Me personally love everything about the PDP. Yeah they just aren’t keeping up with the trends people are looking for unfortunately it seems

Yep. I mean what is the purpose of a single stack hammer fired 380? The options offered by other manufacturers are probably easier to conceal and find accessories for. The PDP feels great in the hand and has a great trigger, but it’s snappy. Where is a PDP 45? Where are the options? There are none.
