So the reason acid shells isn't good without saryn is because the explosion applies BEFORE the steel path health multiplier. Meaning it's doing the same damage as normal star chart.

@@cyanide7270Toxic Lash applies to the explosions scaling multiplicatively with enemy health. The explosions also can help spread spores further.

@@cyanide7270 Toxic Lash applies to Acid Shell's explosion damage, and scales with the Toxin and Faction mods on your Sobek. This basically double and triple dips Toxin Lash and it's dots, for a super effective combo. On top of all this, Sayrn Spores will have reduced enemy armor hugely, ensuring the explosion isn't resisted. I still like Acid Shells even without Sayrn, the extra aoe damage is always appreciated and it's great when you kill an eximus or other heavy unit.

While other warframe KZfaqrs are saying the guns are bad because they compare them to the meta weapons and don’t like that they aren’t as good as them. You just like to use any weapon and no matter how good or bad it is you find a way to make it fun. This is why your the better warframe KZfaqr cause you play the game to have fun and not tell other to use these weapons and not use these other weapons

I think noone can reach to sobel new aug now. They just build kuva sobek like normal sobek, that will be bad in many way. Imo, just build kuva sobek as normal shotgun and we will see how good it is as normal shotgun

Chilling reload right away on this bad boy, only 5 cost, gets cold for viral, and helps the reload speed, granted 2.1s is much better than 2.7s of normal sobek already and merciless still helps but i run amalgam shotgun barrage and reinforced bond so i dump the magazine FAST

I just finished putting the 5th forma into mine and damn it is so good. Granted I'm using a riven with Fire Rate, Cold and Multishot, on a Toxin base, so the elemental situation is taken care of with 1 mod. Just so you know, Acid Shells works off the bleed procs from Hunter Munitions, so one good headshot into an Eximus unit will blow up and entire group, even on SP grineer units.

You running inaros is actually great with acid shells. You can mass armor strip with your build then run some viral heat then nuke enemies

I almost feel like this is a weapon where you want a toxin progenitor for easier corrosive and viral. Can also then only mod magnetic for deleting corpus.

Found a riven for it right before the lich. With 7 preoccupied mod slots I went for a toxin one. When you're like me and put grouping abilities on e.g. nova or nekros, acid shells is a must. That new augment also looks mandatory. Then 2x crit, 2x multishot, savvy...

Been toying around with it, as sobek has been my favorite shotgun for years and I've been waiting for this upgrade for just as long. (Now to continue waiting for a marelok upgrade...although it wouldn't be the same without it being the vaykor, should just get a riven.) Something of an issue I'm having is that acid shells isn't that great, I seem to lose damage when I have it equipped. But it just doesn't feel right without it. Probably won't use it in steel path anyways, so not like it matters all too much.

if I ever get back to warframe, this is the first thing I'm getting. I already loved the normal sobek, even keeping the default fire rate and reload speed, and I'd love the kuva sobek even more because it has more crit, therefore, as shown in the video, a lot more possible builds I'd like to see this gun raw dogged with all 3 augments

So two things that I hate about the OG sobek: 2.8, second reload speed, and low fire rate. Primary merciless and reperter clip are both awesome for this gun. Mix in with some gas and electric status that mixes with the high impact damage. It's nice not mention I do run acid shell and this makes the gun more potent on killing enemies. I used to use a lot of volt specifically for the speeds reload increase. I understand sayrn abuses acid shell which is cool but this how I have used it over the 4000 I have in this game. Volt and the Sobek are great together when use this combo. I recommend it, and if you don't want to spam speed for reload speed I recommend wisp with her haste.

I tend to run it with gas electric but i am a huge fan of gas honestly. Grineer weapons always seem to suffer from mod capacity syndrome. They never have enough mod slots compared to corpus weapons in my experience to feel good without new mods tbh.

yeah hunter munitions is weird on shotguns, you rather put some heat damage or something else, nice build, i would've tried viral slash again at the end, corrosive is great but slash+viral at high rate is insanely good

Legit got it first Lich I rolled. Problem was, I forgot Hydroid (y'know, the corrosive frame) was a magnetic progenitor so it's currently useless (in fairness I forgot progenitors were even a thing. Lich farming sucks and I try to avoid it).

I think there’s an unaddressed question in this: how important is the innate status in this build? Because in this case you have a fairly high innate heat that you’re pumping up further with Blaze, and that’s going to affect the status distribution. Does this want to push heat as high as possible for those procs, or is that an afterthought?

@@noahedenborg4221 You're right that I used the wrong term there (brain fart due to multitasking), but I think you miss my point in asking. It wasn't a "what's the best element" question, it was a question about the intended proc-ratio. To use a different example: for the typical slash/viral setup, the ideal is to have around twice as much slash damage as viral damage so the slash status will proc twice as often. In this case, I saw that MC is running innate heat and then bumping that up with Blaze. Without the innate element, he'd have roughly a 2 to 1 ratio between Corrosive and Heat procs. With it, however, it's closer to a 1.2 to 1 ratio (220.5 Corrosive to 170.9 Heat damage), which translates to a nearly equivalent proc ratio (which you can see in-game by hovering over Status/Projectile). The question is whether such a close ratio between Corrosive and Heat is desirable or not for this build.

Idk if I broke my sobek but with a riven and two elemental mods my sobek does Heat,radiation,magnetic,viral with both acid shells and shattering justice Gal hell, gal savvy The riven is blast with punch through I might swap out hunter munition For the upcoming mod. I would have liked an alternative fire mode or maybe an incarnon genesis, who knows this weapon has to be good/meta because it’s the only weapon in this game with more than 2 mods that are exclusive to it… cheers everyone

On my first attempt to get a Kuva Sobek: - it took an hour and a half to find - no ephemera - 27% radiation bonus - it required a Jahu requiem (the only one I don't have at the moment) Yeah, suffice it to say I converted that one. Lovely introduction to the Kuva Sobek that nearly killed my interest in the weapon... When I try again, I'm going to make sure I have two of every requiem and I am not settling for anything less than a 40% bonus (assuming the ephemera doesn't pop up)

My dude, i had to run 3 times a Kuva Lich just to have a good valence percentage of 54% + ephemeral The ephemeral was a bonus... So, i was able to max out to 60% of damage
