I feel that perhaps Ballas's insane 'swallow the sun with a void portal' was what Wally was aiming for, a void rift big enough for him to get through. He couldn't get through the zariman because it was effectively plugged by the zariman and duviri, so he had to make another exit.

Ballas being a master of deception makes his folly so much more ironic. The fact that he made the veils, got veiled and accepted the illusion shows just how powerful he was. The liar lied to himself, and he believed every word lol

Yeah, lets hope they pull off the eldritch existential horror they've subtly promised with Wally for so long. It would be a crying shame if they dropped the ball on Wally's first front row showing! There is a lot of potential to this story, but equally a lot of danger in daring to try to write it.

Well, I would like to mention an early point you made, that of knowing factions/entities that can steal human likeness and voices. I would like to bring attention to Natah, a mimic, the mimic queen, who came to mimic Margulis. It can be inferred that either another mimic or Natah herself impersonated Regis when considering this, but Regis being Wally is definitely more intriguing.

I've always assumed that, as the living embodiment of the Void, the Man in the Wall was not aware of our universe until Entrati opened the door. Since then, Man in the Wall has been worming his way into our dimension. Even going so far as offering one of his fingers, as a way of gaining an initial 'foothold' as it were. Any action he takes, no matter how devious or conniving, is done in service of that larger goal. Think about how dependent the Tenno have become on anything void related. Our frames, the railjacks, transference itself, it all works to ingratiate the Man in the Wall, into our world. That's my take, anyway.

I've always wondered what exactly the Tenno did when they offed the Orokin in one fell swoop. Were they under their own control? Or were "we", as in the awakened Tenno, aware of what we did but our memories are blocked? Will we ever find out? They keep teasing about it, but never letting us actually see it. What. Really. happened?

I think Regus was likely Natah. She can turn into humans, she is the mimic queen wnd she is the one that spoke to us in the Ropalolyst fight. It is also likely because she knows Alad V quite well and knew how to manipulate him into doing that. And idk from Alad V's reaction where he said "I agreed on a partnership with the Sentients." Made me think that Regus transformed into Natah. And that she on her own perhapse decimated his forces. Natah also has a connection to the Ropalolyst. Remember that she still in control of the Sentients back then.

The eyes of the tenno in the zapping Erra are certainly altered which hints to Wally. Makes one wonder if Wally was in control when the Orokin got whacked. Thing is that fellow is going to be some bigger part in things, There is a reason he needed the kids and that is yet to be explained. I mean putting on my tinfoil veil for a moment, did he corrupt Yonta during the jump causing her to mess something up just to stack the deck of getting impressionable future host(s).

I've always hated the argument that the New War and before it did not explain why Ballas becomes the emperor during it, it shows how much the regular player doesnt pay attention to the lore, we already know about it, but your videos bring soo much context, and it is deeply appreciated.

I loved the video! As I started a few months later than Jupiter update, I had all these quests and Ropalolyst fight in less than a few weeks, which made my memory overflow, so I forgot my thoughts. But again you remind me of them! I remember thinking that Ballas was amalgamated by Alad V, and thinking that Regus was Lotus. I'd stick to this Regus explanation, it makes sense too: it all happens right when Lotus leaves us. There are two counter-arguments: she was so brainwashed that I doubted she could imitate the character, and the fact that he SMILED. Yes, warframe isn't as obscure as some FS titles, but sometimes we have nothing other than that. But it also begs questions: where would such boring person as Regus contact the void? AFAIK there are only clones of those who contacted the void. I love the corpus music too! Shame it isn't present neither in public releases nor in somachord.

I've always read the scene at 37:30 as being about our parents. Us having killed them after they lost their mind from Void Exposure. I don't think anyone would feel guilty for destroying the Orokin.

I think for sure after NW we can trust ourselves (the player Tenno), Teshin, and probably the Lotus (now that we had a reverse second dream cutscene with her.) Recently had some thoughts about Erra calling us bees. I think there is potential that the Man in the Wall is kind of like a King to our hive. The Old war was likely his machinations trying to sow chaos (as we know he does currently) and he uses Ballas as he is the easiest to manipulate at the time. The Sentients losing their ability to reproduce after going through the void is likely due to them being constructs, I believe Wallie did this. I also believe that he wants to sow chaos as fear is rampant during war and that is nourishment for him. All fear the Tenno currently. We are the worker bees, gathering resources in our galaxy/"timeline" depending on how 1990 goes we could see this. (Could also see 1990 being a view into the past or us reliving in the past.) Also believe the Void is a 4th dimensional space, meaning no true time exists there (but has access to all of it) and the reason that eternalism can exist there. I believe the children of the Ten-0 being the most innocent allows for eternalism not to affect their minds as much, as less has happened to them personally in their perception. This gives the Man in the Wall an opportunity to make a deal for some of that light, in turn gaining worker bees. Natah, brainwashed by the introduction of Margulis's memories, made her susceptible to our influence under Wallie as we are her "children." This is where we get the Erra scene you showed. Our minds being put into Warframes however had a long-term effect of partially severing this control by Wallie due to our minds being connected to another. And the Lotus saw this opportunity (as her eyes were in the void) to sever it fully by hiding us on the moon in the void itself, asleep and tethered to ourselves, growing "as not what we are, but of what we want to be". The Heroes, redeeming the frames of war by helping those downtrodden by corruption in all places. I believe the lotus can see into the void and now that we and her have reconciled with the effects of the New War we can turn our heads towards the new perceived threat in Wallie, whispering from beyond the veil coving the void, separating us from the realm of a true chaos god. (Hoping he's not completely evil and the reason he has done all this is he needs our help with something infringing on him, likely in the new faction of "Murmurs." Which I believe are the leftovers of what was taken from the Sentients journey through the void, the murmurs of what could have been.) Appreciate the video, loads of the thoughts here I agree with. You know what bugs me... Sentients were unstoppable because they could hack any technology more complex than an electronic toothbrush. Yet somehow they hacked Natah herself, supposedly. If they were capable of that, wouldn't they be able to protect their tech from interference or hack Sentients en masse? As for Ballas reappearing, he might, but only by miracle, not as part of one of his plans. His grand plan culminated when he established Narmer, and just began to unravel from there along with him. By the time he took over Perghasa (or whatever it's called) to eat the Sun and travel to Tau, he was winging it. Void might have some plans for him though.

AND I'm finally caught up. What better way to spend a vacation day ... or two than catching up on some Warframe lore. Keep doing what you do. Now to actually go and do some ACTUAL vacationing, LOL.

Do you think you could make an overall story breakdown from ten zero to pre whispers? My girlfriend is interested in the game now and wants to watch me play the quest but does not fully grasp all she wants, and i certainly do not have the PHD in warframe necessary to break it down for her! What I am getting at is this: Operator & Drifter - One remembers, one doesn't. "One of us escaped and one of us got stuck here" (or words to that effect) - Maybe our Drifter self isn't being entirely honest about exactly what he/she remembers? Oh, before I forget (couldn't limit it to just one, huh?! :D) "Is that how you remember it? Good." Maybe this is Entrati making sure that we are on the right timeline to meet him in 1999 and try to stop the Infestation before it gets out of hand and maybe he is just testing timelines and their "branches", confirming certain events that absolutely do not solve the problem and eliminating them so that he can move on and test timelines that may still get him to the goal?

The tenno going insane or losing control might be the thing that The man in the wall wants. The thing keeping the Tenno together, sane as we might say, are imo people like the Lotus, someone they can trust. Removing the Lotus, like Ballas already kinda tried, did make is allmost lose if not for the Drifter who got help ftom the Lotus (indirectly). So yes, maybe Wally wants the Lotus to die and everything else the Tenno have so we lose our mind/go insane, therefore exposing us more to the grip of Wally. In otherhands, idk if Wally actually wants control of the Tenno. We don't know his plan yet and he seems like Tzeentch from the Warhammer universe, as has everything planned already. Or, he is more like Hannibal from the Hannibal series. Doing things for the heck of it and out or curiousity for what can happen. Therefore, the Tenno going insane and killing everything might be a thing he wants out of curiousity, just for the heck of it.

I enjoy ballas role in the game as a tactian, strategist etc, but erra also helps us and sees the error of his ways on mu (sentient ship) I think it is? And for that I appraise him even after all the problems he caused for himself. But Lotus is still greater than them all ofc, it's to dangerous for Tenno (player) to know it's the very baseline of the plot, I hope the game never ends (or we never find out) 😀 good luck Tenno and happy hunting.

Maybe "half of you" isn't necessarily mentioned in a literal sense. Maybe Varsia is actually aware of split personality of Tenno, and "half of you" is more about a different personality. The player Tenno doesn't know. But perhaps the one that would take control over that body and act in stark difference to what we used to do, does know. The one that we ourselves tend to call "A Man in the Wall". The other us.

A thought just popped into my head, what if her "eye in the void" is literal? Like that was her deal with Wally, an eye for an eye, she gets void vision/powers and Wally gets the ability to monitor the Operator through her?

Garden of the Tenno mark you talk about the Tenno and lack of memory of what actually happened the fateful day of renoucement of Orokin rule. My speculation is one two fronts. One, actual records are chattered and rumors and here say are all that is left. Two, Tenno in the "dream" over the centuries of dormancy with in the reservoir cause what many sci-fi films refer to as cryogenic amenia. Where the body being suspended or in stasis for so long caused memory loss.

I’m thinking out loud here but maybe when ‘we’, the Tenno, are ‘helped’, ie; transported to convenient times and places to hear and see things; does it have to be the Man in the Wall doing that? What about the opposite to the trickster, like Ying and Yang / God and Devil? The Man in the Wall helping Ballas and torturing Entrati, making deals with others posed as themselves (because who else would you trust more than yourself?), is the ‘Devil’ / ‘Loki’ type character and the one who is helping the Tenno is his opposite ie; the enigmatic and mysterious, benevolent God type character who we haven’t yet met?

One thing that makes me think is Albrect Entratis presence in Duviri. In the next update trailer we see what looks like Albrect entering that device but when we enter the same thing we see its the Man in the Wall. Doesnt this mean that either Albrect never actually escaped from his first encounter (and possibly was sent to Duviri there and then) or the Man in the Wall has somehow entered the device (which i think to be the least likely)

I hope a new Tenno Tunes uses these Ballas voice lines from his vitruvians in some sick beat like they did with the Tyl Regor beat.

Im even more curious how this plays out in WF1999 as it appears that the game Dark Sector is going to become offically Warframe canon now. We could have multiple orgins of how Warframes can be created. We know who Umbra Excalibur is so im curious if Arthur in WF1999 could potentially be Stalker.

Natah is a Sentient who disguised herself as human and speaks with the voice of Marghulis. Regus may have easily been just a Sentient Mimic, but Alad describing Regus' unnerving smile does lend potential credence to some semblence of influence from The Man in the Wall. I dont think we have enough info to definitively say one way or the other, but I feel its a bit of a stretch for Ballas to have also made a deal with the Man in the Wall, considering he seems to have a lot of disdain for all things Void

My main problem when I played the new war is that I never understood how we went from Ballas to Ballas amalgam to Ballas narmer being above Erra It felt like I missed a whole chunk of story

The half that remember the Tenno massacre of the Orokin are those that got to the Second Dream. "She put us into the dream, brought us peace. I remember we could still hear her voice, raging at the leaders for their mistreatment of us. When they executed her... well... I could not let that go" The Tenno who still dream still suffer amnesia.

That clip you used of Lotus saying "you were only just a child" was about the Tenno killing their parents aboard the Zariman during the disaster, not the Orokin Collapse.

My only gap in the story, is how ballas even got chained up by erra, then in the new war, seems to be the king with erra following his every word

I'm not convinced ballas is that smart, and if anyone is pulling Grand strings, it'd be the man in the wall ... But also to that end I don't believe ballas ever sided or worked with the entity. Furthermore I believe ballas just got lucky while he was ultimately trying to play all sides for his own selfish benefit, and his luck ran out. Maybe only because his slight void knowledge may he have a grip in duviri.... Or maybe his presents there is just a remnant of the drifter's mind, as personally I finished the new war as the drifter, so it only makes sense to me that he'd be seen there after. What's most confusing to me is how the sentients just sorta fell in line with ballas after he chucked natah in the void, I've no idea what influence he could've brought to bear that would've changed their minds, or why hunhow, while not nearly as spry as it once was, is still alive and capable of leadership didn't get the job.... While ballas having the greatest plan ever would cover that angle, him being played the whole time by Wally is equally convincing/convenient.... Like how much of it is for story and how much is just an excuse to make a different game mode? I only say this cause there was a time years ago when you couldn't get in a fight with an acolyte on a daily basis, then there was this wolf of Saturn guy and amalgams and ever since new war we pick fights with acolytes whenever we please, almost nullifying their lore significance or at least relegating it to a side effect of mechanical necessity... If he's ever given a spot in a reoccurring mission with a long monologue, It may only be a matter of time till we're calling ballas Cap. Vor 2.0 as he becomes less relevant
