Warhammer paints suck?

In this video I try some Army painter paints insted of Warhammer paints
I'm finerly getting back in the groove of making videos the future looks bright a lot of stuff has happened IRL to prevent me from putting stuff here who knows if I'll get round to explaining it

The paint is ok, it’s those crap paint containers that don’t close properly that’s the problem.

Agreed. I've done great things with citadel paints. But your right the paint pots suck

Army painter are bottled better, there may be a few colours where the pigment is better, the flow and consistency is better from the pot also. Citadel is a better formulated paint, yes it separates, yes the pots are rubbish and make the paint dry and separate more but with thinning citadel paints have the better consistency, less pastel finish (try going to the lighter reds on the triad) and better pigment. I use both, the only range I will say is slightly better is Vallejo. Then you obviously have the AK products and so forth that are the cut above.

Thanks for the tip this was my first time properly trying paints outside of the citidal range. I'm defenly going to try more brands in future. After trying these new paints I'm definitely no longer brand loyal to GW any more so whatever works I'll use

Are you comparing to the old Army Painter range? Because the new ones are significantly better than GW and are definitely on par with AK. Similarly, the new vallejo range is also on par with AK. Citadel is significantly worse than pretty much every other range at this point as every other popular range has had a refresh within the last few years.

@@Jamespeterstu No I have the new range, I don't hold favourites and Army painter will 100% do the job. It is preference, and my personal experience so far, they are good and I mix them in with my every day painting but I have found I have to creep back to Citadel occasionally due to the pastel nature. I'm not slating AP in any way but they are not AK quality in my opinion.

Reddit /unpopularopinion take tbh. Citadel makes some great paints and some not great paints. More importantly, buying from any one manufacturer is dumb. Get the best version of the colors you like to use from whomever happens to manufacture them. Sometimes that will be Citadel 😮
