Just like any athlete, warm-ups and cool-downs are not only going to benefit your dog's performance while running but will also help reduce the likelihood of injury. Muscles perform better when they are warm. Our goal with warm-ups (human and dog), allows 5-10 minutes of time before a run for our dogs to potty and to warm up the muscles. We want to specifically focus on the muscles that will be needed (core, back, and rear legs) for canicross/bikejoring and mimic the same movements that your dog will be experiencing during canicross/bikejoring.
