Appreciate you sharing your experience. I narrowly avoided this on vacation in MB SC. Ordered tickets for a show online, and the website stated you will receive your tickets via email. Well, the email comes, and states you have to pick your tickets up in person. So we drive to the location given, and surprise surprise… it’s a counter with time share shills. They give you the tickets and promise you the world if you attend their time share pitch. I considered it for half a second and got the hell out of there. Thanks to people like you sharing their stories, my family and I were spared this nightmare. Thanks again!

Never go to anything that promises you a gift. There is always a hard pitch that will follow.

I do these presentations just for the freebies. As long as you have a strong will and keep saying no, you'll be good.

The Hilton offered us $150 and a free week to go through this process. The wife and I went through it and didn’t buy. Price is outrageous. They wanted us to finance for 120 months after 6K down and with the yearly cleaning fee total would be around 93K. Time shares are a scam doesn’t make any financial sense to me.

Don't judge, I wish I looked a timeshare tips before I went. Long story short I saw space center tickets for 100 bucks compared to 270 at the booth. I thought great deal, sit through a promotion at Westgate Orlando 90 min. Worst experience of my family's life. In at 1200pm and out at 5pm and I got suckered into buying a villa 😵😫. Even my wife could not say no, we felt trapped. Needless to say I read the contract the next day and thank God there is a 10 day rescission period. I already submitted my letter to cancel the contract. Yes, avoid the promotions at all costs, saving a little over 150 bucks was not worth it!!!

If you find yourself being asked to sit in on this, just tell them you’re single. This works VERY well if you’re a guy. Timeshare sales people despise single men because they tend not to buy. This won’t work as well if you’re a single woman - they will still try to sell a timeshare to you. The main demographics for timeshare sales - Florida is for families, Vegas, Mexico and the Carribean is for single women or groups of women (girl’s night, etc) and for couples. The easiest way out if you cannot say no is to say you’re single and broke.

I willingly walked into a timeshare in exchange for a few days in Breckenridge. Spent an hour with a nice woman as she showed me the property. I showed no interest as I knew I could easily purchase on the secondary market.

I heard stories for those who say they are broke they even go as far as opening a credit card for you without telling you. They will offer you the world the first weeks waiting for the rescission time period to end which can be between 3 to 14 days depending on your state and once you are hook thats it they are no help after that all they want is their commission

Anyone who gets suckered into a time share is not smart anyways. Dont put yourself in thay situation to begin with.

They sell their timeshares over 100x more than they are worth. And your maintenance fees will be equal or higher than just booking a hotel. That is all you need to know if you want to destroy the person trying to sell you one.

What if you say I am a local or I don't have a job?

This is all bullshit i went for a 7 night and 8 day vacation. My experience was the sales person pretended to be a managaer give us a good ass deal and she was way too friendly saying they trying to help you and tell you their experiecne, they gave us a price for 58k and if we pay an extra 2k they would double us the point somehow cause i had a discovery card. Well i said yes to that but now the association fee was double like $260 and the 16% interest bro turned 60k into 117k of coursethey go through the paper work as fast as possible trying not to show the othet price which goes with fees and other stuff they dont tell you about. I have done a lot fo resarch and some people attent to this things for the free stuff like vacations and all and it could be worth it maybe, youll have to be there 5 hours saying no but you get 7 days vacation that deal isnt as bad for me but a lunch it aint worth it. Well im still in the 10 days that florida gives you to cancel the contract, my letter should get there today hopefully im out of this ahit hole but at least i got my 7 night's i was offer. Also i hard someones story that the sales perosn got so mad that they left and didnt give them their voucher funny stuff
