So... a trilogy to escape the final warp zone. Still think the Revenge Arc where you use MkII power armor and personal lasers to kill all the biters on the warp platform will help UPS get closer to 60 then watching paint dry at 20 UPS/ 20 FPS. Great way to 'debug' the playthrough.

Am3 consumes about 3x am2 power, here the extra efficiency modules don't do as much since they only negate a small part of the warp beacon effects instead of being applied to the machines base power consumption before warp beacon effects

@@MichaelHendriks I _may_ have forgotten that to actually reduce the total amount of biters, you'd have to kill them faster then the rate they respawn at. Wich is impossible to compete with, due to the MASSIVE pollution cloud.

If you look at the game timer in the top corner, you see it is a jump cut of about 5 seconds. Michael does these little editing tricks more often.

Good choice IMO to keep the video tight, but I was so excited to think there was a way to do that which I could learn.

Yeah all the time, I do a whole lot of editing to try to make it look like it's not really edited lol, like for instance cutting out frames when walking and get stuck behind something (happens all the time in warptorio). Though now with bots, those small jumpcuts will become impossible to get by you unnoticed

Unfortunately that won't help, it's the massive amount of biters pathfinding their way to the center which cause the lag, not the ones who are already partying

@@MichaelHendriks fair point; might even cause more to spawn (free'd up spots, assuming the game is "smart" and limits the total quanity) and thus ressulting in more spawn. tbh, I'd be ok with using a mod to prevent the biters from moving/existing in the middle somehow. your already pretty throughly locked out of being in the middle now so in terms of your action space it just frees you up to do more runs. IE: I don't consider UPS-based optimizations to be critical to factorio-speedrunning and don't think people should have ot make that kind of choice where its possable to remove them (especially since it prices potato-pc owners out)

Wow, how many warpzones does it take to get to 100 minute minimum warp time? Also, does the Warp Accellerator ability do anything at that point? I haven't been able to figure out what it's doing

​@@MichaelHendriks My record so far is warp 75 - 80, trying to defend the platform does take a toll, it also didn't help when i restricted myself to guns only (imagine about 1 FULL red belt of red ammo just to fill up the "battery" for the final rush). Edit: just realized what you meant and to clarify no matter what my manual time is 15min max 8 for warp 70+ and +1 for every 70 entities (defaults). I just ticked the "force autowarp" setting. And as for the warp abilities TL:DR Accel = trash Stabi = ok Radar = good Accelerater [sic] in my opinion ... complete TRASH, I got bored and threw down 3.36GW power and just let the ability burn it all and after causing a near blackout (30 minutes) it only shaved off 5 seconds at best from my 10 minute manual timer. Stabilizer is good only on warp start to be "cloaked" for the next X time (based on your power gen), of which after getting a solid defense setup i never needed the "cloaking" So that leaves Radar being KING for being able to scan 10+ chunks away within about 2 minutes (mine lasts for 30+ no sweat) which ends up being "YES PLEASE!!!" when you end up needing more of 1 resource and you happen to be on a poor planet (dwarf or focus) I got a save if you wanna mess around, just remember to reconnect 1 bit of green wire logic on the harvester floor. PS: As for my SPM I got 756 labs all with +145% speed and +20% productivity non-stop. I wish to make it better but I'm not THAT rich yet.

I'm covering the abilities in warpzone 8-8, so just making sure the accelerator is trash indeed and that I'm not missing something. Great job on making a guns-only-defense work, it has great dps but ammo is super expensive here and their limited range gets them damaged or destroyed easily

@@MichaelHendriks i had no choice XD i backed myself into a corner because i was using the platform as "upper factory" (reason why i needed defense). lasers were too weak even with the 4 vs 3 setup, and fire was too awkward to setup at the time, so i was stuck with guns only with uncapped buffers at both sides of the loop (entering and midway), it was somewhat easy to manage since i only used the planet teleporter for grabbing oil, coal, or stone (at the time) and if i didn't need them it was on "extra iron for defense", i also had west harvester on iron only and east was iron, copper mix with chests for copper ore buffer. blooper note: they were plenty of times i had a power blackout because of either no water, or no fuel so i had platform have backup power for when its main power (battery logic) was below 5% (A < 10), it only powered the guns' inserters and the 4 radars at most.
