Yeah man... i did a similar Video (in german) about Luminar 4.2. . It was´nt successful as yours... but nevertheless i got several visits from Luminar Fanboys, and had some very strange discussions in some Facebook forums. Lets face it... Luminar 4.2 has some very heavy bugs (Eraser-Tool/Hsitory/Export).Plus the issues that you are pointing out! But... the PR department of skylum did a very good job! ;) Thanks for your honest video! :)

Yeah, I didn't expect my video to get as, uhmmm, "successful" as it did 😅 I'm still daily-driving Luminar 3, I think aside from performance hiccups it's a great tool. But you're right, L4 gets way too much promotion and way too few close looks

Excellent video. Really enjoyed this one over the last one. Like you i do not like change. When i learn a program i hate learning the new layout of an updated version. But once you figure this out, like i did with luminar 3, 2018 and flex, it is really simple and powerful. but i understand you like what you're used to using. Keep up the good work and try to hold off on reviews until you realy use a product. Remember because it is different than what you like does not mean it is not good. Just that it is different.

love the way that you put this and I could not agree with you more on the UI for L4 it sucks so bad if you like the way that the layers work in L3. I personally don't like the DAM in L3 so I have been using Luminar flex for my main editor. I have found that it has all the same functions as L3 and works faster as well. I just dropped Lr and Ps for the simple fact that those tools are not as good to get the looks that I am getting out of Luminar Flex.

Idk why people disagreed with the previous video, but whatever. Luminar 4 is ok for some very specific things, but honestly, something always bothered me about it, and now I know what it is. Lightroom is good, but I always hated their approach to image processing. Aperture died. Capture One is great for my Fuji files, but I’m not a fan of the UI either, it’s as bearable as Lightroom for an ex-aperture user like me. I’m finding pleasure in DxO after years of not using it. Works great on my NEF files. And frankly speaking, I find myself simplifying my photography processing lately. If I need to do something big, I’ll probably rent Photoshop or give Affinity a try. Luminar? Mehhhhh, it’s o k.

One thing I recently discovered after getting a new monitor, Luminar chokes to death on a 13 inch MacBook Pro on a 4k monitor. Within a minute CPU got so hot I could actually SMELL IT. Got me seriously worried there for a second

3 is no longer supported, so new raw formats might not open Also you can't legally buy it anymore, if you didn't previously have it, the only way is to sail the high seas
