Cool project. I am building two sets. One Minolta and one Soviet KMZ set of different names, including Orion, Jupiter, Industar, Tair and Helios. Just for fun. KMZ was the plant that originally designed and built them, and lenses with KMZ mark had a better quality control and better initial build. Because of that, they are more difficult to find and put tigether. Not sure if I'll be housing them, but it will be fun, nonetheless, to use them as a Soviet constellation set. They used space related names for their lenses in the former USSR, and I do not know anyone who has built the full KMZ set yet with every usable lens name included: 28, 37, 50, 85, 105 and 133mm, so it is kind of exciting! Good luck with your future projects 👍❤️🙏

I love this! Setup like this can get you some great results but watch out for the fact that the viewport in UE does not actually account for the physical tv so objects will be unrealistic sizes and you will not have correct parallax with this setup!
@MaxRovensky8 күн бұрын
Matching the focal length in unreal with the actual camera lens generally helps with this, but yeah, one of the things to keep in mind!

Thank you Max for sharing this project. One question: I did not catch exactly, how to combine step-up / step-down rings in case of Helios, you went very briefly over this part in your video. Can you please tell me how to set-up the rings correctly? Thank you very much.
@MaxRovensky19 күн бұрын
If you're using the specific set I linked - it's just going from the lowest one that fits all the way up to 82mm in that set
@MaxRovensky19 күн бұрын
Oh and as I mentioned in the video, at any point in the stack, add a step down ring and then another step up ring (this would have to be from another set, or a solo ring) so that you get extra horizontal space
@hantabal19 күн бұрын
@@MaxRovensky Thanks, I am using the same set. So - I will add only one step-down ring and back step-up ring to the original diameter.
@hantabal18 күн бұрын
and you mentioned in the video: "you will need 2 sets of step down rings..." what is the reason to have them? as I understood, all what is needed is set of step-up rings and one step-down ring and one step-up ring. did I miss something?

Amazing vid man. Got a couple tips that will hopefully help you in the future. 1- Instead of hiding gizmos. Press G on the keyboard to enter Game mode. It hides all those messy Hud icons. You can also press F11 after that for full screen. 2-Add a post processing volume to your scene. Search unbound and make sure it is ticked. It now applies to your whole scene. This will help solve two problems. Adjusting exposure can bring the scene down uniformly to make it easier to match your lights exposure. You can also adjust the colour temperature in the post processing to make the footage less blue. Tv’s are closer to daylight and might be what was tripping you up. 3-Last tip. Ndisplay chugs a computer more so than a standard scene. When you do a setup, maybe aim for a 720 canvas instead of a 1080 for testing. Good-luck and looking forward to your next adventure!

Hey Max, new subscriber here , this might sound stupid for some ppl but ill ask anyway, would this work for a music video, or can you make a music video using this method ? Thanks!

It would, but your limitation will be the screen size People actually do music videos with Unreal on big proper LED wall displays Depends on what you’re trying to do, but you’ll likely need a bigger surface, like a projector at least

Hey, I've tried printing the mount a few times, but each time, the hook does not seem to raise very far, and quickly the gears moves towards the backplate until it no longer is moving the hook at all. Any suggestions?

Check the number of teeth on both parts the gear attaches to, I've had an issue with Cura slicer where it would sometimes remove one at the edge cause it's fairly thin. I used Creality slicer to fix it

@@MaxRovensky I have three teeth + the bottom edge on the hook, four teeth on the button, and twelve teeth on the gear. Can on you confirm what it should be? I can't quite make it out from the video.
