Washing machine repair (Replacement of carbon brushes in the motor)

Tutorial in which I teach how to know, check and correctly replace the carbon brushes of the spin motor of the drum of your washing machine. In this video you will see the correct procedure not to cause cramps, floods, unwanted breaks and some other advice.
History:
When using the washing machine ...
he drum fills with water correctly ...
the drum doesn't turn when it should...
the water in the drum discharges properly
The fault may be the wear of the motor brushes
We will proceed to check it and replace it if necessary
turn off washing machine
Empty the clothes drum
We take the washing machine out of its hole
use strong rope or cable
Moisten the floor so that the washing machine skids
Beware of hoses and cables (They can break)
Unplug washing machine
Have the mop close by, put a towel on the floor
We will drain the water thoroughly through the filter
Clean filter and its compartment
Close the cap and tighten it hard
Remove top cover
Remember the position of the springs (they will release when you rotate the washing machine)
With great care we turn the washing machine
brush on the motor
Remember the correct position and then mount it well
We extract it easily from its plastic housing
This is the difference between a worn brush and a new one
install the new
Close the terminal with the pliers so that it is hard and does not come off
Put the screws and tighten
The same with the second brush
Check the correct condition of the belt
We turn the washing machine gently again
We see that a spring has come off
we relocate it
We plug in, check hoses and cables
Test washing machine, if the fault persists, call a technician

Great video and nice soundtrack. As others also commented, some machines are easily accessable though a back panel, others (miele) open up on the front. Some machines have closed bottom, others are open as in this video, which is conveniant. Some motors have only 2 screws, some 4 (also 2 screws in the back, a little harder to access.) What surprises me however, is that the machine doesn't hang in an error. The AEG I saw not long ago had a motor equipped with a tacho sensor, so the machine knows the speed or lack thereoff. And still it filled up with water, stood still for a long time counting down the minutes...

I found it easier to take the back panel off, undo the two 10 mm motor mounting bolts, remove motor from drum housing and place on the floor under the machine, tip the machine forward a bit, and remove the motor from underneath. 👍 Thanks anyway, it just saved my mum from buying a new machine.

I will be doing the same, 25yrs had it 1st time anything has went wrong, but my mum had her brushes replaced almost every year, & never seen is been done like this,
