I'm an 80's hard rock nerd through and through. Back in the day, I bought & read every issue of Metal Edge, RIP, Circus, and Hit Parader, then scoured the liner notes of every record, tape & cd I bought. When the scene declined a bit in the 90's, I was still all into it and had the chance to see (and in many cases, meet) my heroes. I saw Steve and LA Guns several times at the Alrosa Villa in Columbus. Once, after a show, he gave me his drum sticks that I still have to this day. I met him at M3 several years ago and he answered a long-standing question of mine: is WASP: Live, In the Raw actually live? He laughed and said, "My drums were live, but the rest of it was done in a studio." Over the course of many years, I got to see and meet Steve a handful of times, and he was one of the nicest of my rock star heroes I ever met. I've met many, and sadly, many of them let me down. Steve was always nice. Always happy to meet a fan. I'm really sorry he's gone.

Nicky Beat and Paul Black should REALLY confuse things by touring as Beat/Black L.A. Guns. I honestly like their original version of the band best (no offense to Steve).

R.I.P. Steve Riley I know it’s a bit too soon… but what are the chances of the surviving members moving forward with a third album (using the leftover songs that Steve mentioned). Maybe they could do it under a new name (for obvious reasons). It was nice to see Kelly come out of retirement for this band. And Kurt Frolich deserves to continue his career.

You hate so much on Autograph because there was one original member even though the “New” singer had been in the band for many years and the guitar player quit and gave his blessings to have them move forward, but you give two guys who haven’t been in the original band for years a complete and total pass. Not playing favorites Jason?
@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen
@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen 11 ай бұрын
Silly comment, Autograph has zero members who contributed anything to the success of the band. Riley kept la guns going longer then any other member and Kelly wrote their biggest hit. Not a valid comparison, but nice try

@@WasteSomeTimewithJasonGreen I think Phil might have something to say about longevity to the band, no? He held it together after Stacy quit and Grant was the axeman. And in your own interview with Steve he said he gave his blessings to Randy to have the band continue. They only play one song live from the Plunkett days, every thing else is way after. I guess we shall just agree to disagree then. No hate meant Jason. And honestly I still think Grant was the better guitarist as he both played the Stacy tunes as well as the as the Traci stuff. Peace.
