That's not how Rolex works. Firstly, no Rolex is worth the money, they are prices as they are by slick marketing. If you want say a sports model there's a waiting list. You go on the waiting list for probably a year or two. If you're a "good customer" you can jump the queue. You can become a good customer by buying some other Rolex products that don't sell very well. I collect watches, I have 120 and I don't have any Rolex. They are the low end of the quality watch market. I see Rolex and I think of drug dealers, gangsters and people you are likely to find in a lapdancing club😂. Or people who suddenly got some money and have no taste. In my opinion a far better watch for less money is a Seiko spring drive.

That being said, he still wore more $500 watches even though he had one of one watches over a quarter million. An example is the citizen blue angels watch, as my dad was in the Air Force and loved top gun, so the blue angels were special to him, plus I saw them a few times at air shows and my dad flew our plane, he was hoping they came out with a thunderbirds edition, but they never did and he died years ago. I wear that citizen a lot because I can look at it and have a tear run down my cheek, one that’s full of emotion. But the watches I wear the most are fairly low key, like Piaget and Roger Dubois and Ulysse Nardin. Only people into watches can appreciate them. I also wear some royal oaks and nautilus. I hardly ever wear my Apple Watch ultra, but I do when I go hiking and climbing. I’m quite the peculiar fellow, but I collect knives and pens more than watches. I even have more guitar picks than I’d like to admit, as well as yo-yos. I’m kind of a shopaholic and I used to be much worse, now I’m more tame and I credit it to Jesus as He desires me to withdrawal myself from this material world

@anteneupitra while I agree with you. I've seen 2 super clone watches side by side of the authentic versions. An when they say "super" clone. They mean it. It's not the $100-$200 canal street watch that's very obvious.

Good point. A lot of women will recognize a Rolex…for what it represents. If a guy only uses it to look like he’s in the game…then he’s fooling her with the clone…..with his teeth veneers as well as the plugs in his hair. If this is to have some fun in Vegas or wherever…the Rolex will easily complete the package. If..on the other hand…you then take it home and use it daily…yeah it might bother me that it’s a fake..more and more each day.

I’m pretty deep into the replica rabbit-hole and: 1) none of the movements are even close to having the same finish quality as gen 2) the bezels always feel different 3) many can also immediately be identified by the cloudy crystal or bad AR coating on the cyclops This watch in the video is probably a VSF Submariner with a custom bezel and a gen xtal installed. From the outside it really is almost indistinguishable then. However if they open the watch then the replica can be spotted immediately.

The superclones *mimic* the quality of the originals, but they don't come close to equaling the quality. Put a superclone on a timegrapher and you'll see the clone movement doesn't come close in mimicing the precision of the movement. Does a few seconds a day matter? No, but people who own originals get satisfaction knowing they own a true piece of superb machining. People who buy clones enjoy having other people think they can afford the original.

@@ohger1 okay I agree on everything except for the timegrapher and outer finish. A good VSF with proper quality control (which is a hit or miss unfortunately) has polishing etc that is almost identical to gen - except for the bezel feel. And yes, while the movements are nowhere as nicely milled and finished as the gen calibers, the good ones are easily adjustable to COSC spec. (But that is exclusive to the $400 and upwards replicas) I have seen several forum posts where good dandong movement clones were regulated to +-0sec of accuracy in 5 positions with a beat error of 0.0ms.

These super clones ARE NOT easily spotted though and THAT'S the problem. There are a few videos on KZfaq about how to spot the fakes but they're that good they need the real one has to be side by side to compare. No money has changed hands,the super clone fooled the experts. Some of these super clones are $1000 so they're not exactly cheap themselves

Very easy to spot them. If you own or owned a real one its really easy.

@@stellauniversal NO IT'S NOT,you've OBVIOUSLY never seen a super clone, they're not cheap knock offs you get in a market ,these are $500 ~ $1000 and are almost perfect. Even watch experts can't tell the difference unless they have them side by side and have a lens to really be able to look close.

There's almost a negative chance that dude paid 350k euros for an RM and didn't know it was fake. He definitely knew. If you are buying a gen watch even $7k and up, you are getting it authenticated. Anywhere close to RM bubba watson money, you are meeting at the AD/jeweller, having espresso with the seller, talking watches, etc. Nobody with 350k to drop on a watch is going to just buy it from some person online and having it FedEx'd to their house lol. These people also usually have related social circles, so you would be outed and ostracized if you sold a fake to a friend in, say, a private deal based off trust. The only way someone would buy a fake RM listed for 350k without getting it authenticated first is some sheik who buys it sight unseen and got a really elaborate bait and switch, or you're washing money and already a big enough criminal that you definitely wouldn't want to be on camera. You literally can't even list a watch like that without raising flags. Clones/fakes $5k and under might fly under the radar and there's a lot more of those being sold as gens for sure, but nowadays most people paying that amount for a watch would take the free precaution of meeting at a jeweller or AD anyways. Will people still get tricked? You know what they say- a fool and his money are easily parted. But more often than not, it's extremely difficult to flip fakes like that

Yeah riigghht? Some Superclones are that good that you can only tell them apart when comparing them A/B to a Genuine watch sat next to it. Or to start taking it appart. Even then the differences are subtle. Narly screws and rough edges and finish which are only apparant under a x10 loop. As the movements are cloned you can bet that more than a few of the owners of these watchs. have had some genuine parts fitted on the movement by a "friendly" watchmaker to make it even more difficult to spot. I suspect that the jewellers who said "Good to go" looked at the watch in their hand over the counter of their shop. Especially if they haven't seen that specific model or don't have one to compare. And especially if they aren't keeping up with the latest fakes. To spot a fake (anything) you need to be suspicious of it to begin with. The idea of a fake is to fool. If you're making fakes to fool you will address all the known giveaways first. And just like works of art they can be that good that only a handful of experts can spot them. I've got 3 relatively cheap Omega Planet Ocean knock offs from china bought several years ago. And several years apart. The 1st one $50-60 was Good visually but has obvious diffences when looking at a real one. The second was supercheap $20-30 and bought a couple of uears later. it looks more accurate but as soon as you pick it up it's obvious it feels cheap.(Thats why it was $20)It looks more accurate because they've changed the things that were obviously wrong in the original watch over time but the poor quality materials and imperfect finish give it away as soon as you pick it up. The last one however was over $120 and was bought about 5 years after the 1st one. The appearance and finish is up a level. I compared it to a real one and it's pretty close. The give away is the bezel, the original is semi matt with a slight sheen where as my fake is more glossy making the colours look more vibrant. The metalwork however is well finished and looks like someone took time to refine it. But even with the real one next to it it's not a glaring difference.(no pun intended) It's also got the display back where they fake the co axial movement. Which looks convincing until comparedA/B The jewel positions are off but the finish looks good. Unless you compate it or have seen loads of that model it would convince you. More worrying is At the time the seller I got this from was offering a superclone for around $750 Which in the photos he sent was another level altogether. My $120 watch would fool 99% of the public and 50% of pawn shops the $750 clone would likely fool 70% of jewellers. And that was at least 5 years ago when I bought it.

Probably. With routine servicing it should last a lifetime. But it won't perform the same as the original. Put a superclone on a timegrapher and you'll see the copies are all over the place.

@@ohger1 Sure, but no one buying expensive watches today is doing so because it will only drift a few seconds per year/month/whatever. If you have to be gnat's ass accurate, pull out your cell phone as it will be many times more accurate than any watch.
