I hated the ending until I heard the theory that the crazy woman was right (she thought they needed to sacrifice the little boy to make it all stop), and the main guy inadvertantly fulfilled this by mercy killing his son. That makes the ending less gut-wrenching (just a little tho).

I would agree with the miniseries clown but the new movie IT is so unsettling and not likable. No child would ever willingly get that close IRL. I had children that age too scared to come up to my door for Halloween Candy alone this year. Honestly although less scary it might have been more believable for him to just grab Georgie after he got even somewhat close to the drain given the extendo arms. Any kid seeing that would be poop your pants scared anyway. Maybe have him munch a leg so you can keep the dragging visual.

This critique always assumes that any sane human would look at a crashing space ship and think "Oh that's definitely not going to explode or just cause a massive circular crater, it is going to maintain its structure and balance perfectly and roll beautifully on its thinnest axis in a perfectly straight line without collapsing under its own weight!" It was also filmed to make it seem like they were running for a long period of time, but look at the size of the ship. If it had actually rolled, it would have crushed them in 2 to 3 seconds. Also, they're running on uneven, rocky soil, while wearing helmets that don't allow them to turn their heads and block all peripheral vision. How the FUCK would they even know what the ship was doing behind them? They both did the smartest thing humanly possible, run directly away from the crash point, as fast as you possibly can, while WATCHING WHERE YOU ARE GOING. Now, the dude who took his helmet off to fuck with the CLEARLY A FUCKING SNAKE? Yea, that guy is an idiot.

I get that he needed them as scared as possible and separated to eat them, but half the stuff he did ended up backfiring because he wouldn't just kill them when he had the chance. Sidney running up the stairs happened as she was too panicked to slide the chain lock off properly and Ghostface was not going to stay down for long. Georgie was a young child and the stranger danger thing was not all that strong in the 1980s. It doesn't quite make these decisions any less illogical. Just understandable.

Give it a few more minutes guys.. Look what would of happened if you had waited just 5 more minutes. so giving up that quickly I think is a bit stupid.

But there wouldn’t be horror films if the characters being pursued used logic, intelligence, and even common sense… it would be just be 5-10 minute long short horror films.

@@availanila Pretty sure that lady was literally just insanely lucky. She happened to run out there early enough that she got to her car and was able to get to her kids. Maybe even a minute more of hesitation and she was could've died. I think the only reason it makes sense that she made it is the first wave of creatures came, then moved on right before she went outside, before some of them just started wandering around in the mist. The spider creatures were busy killing everyone in the drug store, etc. So saying her actions were smart isn't exactly correct.

It wasn't really dramatically consistent with the character's prior actions and if he was going to take that route he could've waited until he could see the monster's actively preying on them outside the vehicle before doing that.

I thought the creeper went after Darry after he left his smell in the church basement and the creeper liked the smell of his fear. After the creeper runs them off the road he just continues on. The ACTUAL stupid decision was Darrys insistence that they go back to check out the pipe because “somebody might still be alive down there”

Marked or not, it was stupid. They could've kept going and made it far enough away the creeper might not have followed. I mean, the thing had a pretty clear hunting ground. A few more counties over and they might've escaped.

I dont think so. Creeper had multiple times to get them before he went into the basement. In the movie when they were at the diner creeper was smelling his clothes because he liked the smell. If he didn't go down that pipe he would've been saved. The same thing happened in the second movie. Only a few teenagers were picked for his prey he left the rest alone.

Um, which version of the book were you reading? The mayor was dealing with the mob in shady real estate deals. He needed everything to follow the status quo because he didn't want to be fitted with cement boots. One of the only examples of the movie was so much better than the book. The characters in the book were horrible people, except Quint and Brody, and it's just too bad more weren't eaten.

Jaws and Halloween 1978 are the best movies. I think Jaws should have won best picture. Everything about it was perfect. The cinematography, the score, the characters and how they were played, their chemistry, the camaraderie, the TENSION and fear. The story was amazing. Everyone was at the edge of their seats for that movie, and the whole theatre, at a MOVIE, jumped up and applauded and cheered at Brodie at the ending line, "Smile, you son-of-a-" BOOM! What a movie!! Even the TV trailers were terrifying. I remember being scared to death and transfixed by them. "There is a monster..." and seeing the bottom of the ocean and every fish and creature moving out of the way, and then poor Chrissy in the water! Didn't see the shark, didn't matter! There was a line-up around the corner in my small town to get in. I went in with my heart pounding and was terrified all the way through.

If that were the case, then that would not have been a 10+ minute movie, much less a horror movie.
