So I live in Southern California, and feel fairly confident that Nic Sonderegger may have run into a cougar. Female cougars, when in heat, make a cry that sounds remarkably like a screaming woman. And while most of the time cougars are timid and won't bother people, a hormonal female cougar in the dead of night will be much more violent. It is possible that he was killed by a cougar and potentially eaten by it.

In the case Kenny Veach, I tend to believe what his alleged girlfriend said is true. My best friend's father committed suicide when we were about 15. My friend was the happiest and funniest person I knew and even after such a tragic event he still always seemed so full of life and hopeful for the future. Always smiling and always staying active and invested in his hobbies. Then one day he drove out to the same spot his father died and did the same. You sometimes never fully understand someone's sufferings.

I used to work in inpatient psychiatry, and Taleka’s story is a good example that mental health or neurological illnesses can, and do, occur in people who were previously high functioning and “normal”….in other words, it can happen to anyone. Many times, I see commenters on missing persons videos saying “But they had no past history of mental illness, and so it can’t be that,” but unfortunately, a true neuropsych crisis can definitely happen in adulthood, with few or no warning signs previously.
@bobbyrayofthefamilysmith24

Can a healthy adult just go from Normal to having a total psychiatric meltdown in a matter of days and become a danger to themselves?
@paradoxical_taco
@paradoxical_taco Жыл бұрын
@@bobbyrayofthefamilysmith24Taleka’s problems began in her late-20s. Typically, schizophrenia manifests itself by age 25, but many illnesses have early-onset & late-onset variations. It’s also possible that her problems began earlier and were more subtle/she was able to hide them from the people in her life, such as her parents. The fact that she compared her life to that of the person in A Beautiful Mind, and that in one of her tweets, she mentioned a drug for schizophrenia not being strong enough, I think Taleka did suffer from schizophrenia and knew this. It’s a sad statement about our society that a doctor felt she couldn’t seek the full psychiatric help she needed for fear of jeopardizing her career. I’d bet she prescribed that medication herself, but psychiatry wasn’t her specialty, so she wasn’t prescribing the med she needed or wasn’t administering the proper dosage to herself. Taleka was also exhibiting symptoms common to Bipolar Disorder, which can result is full psychotic breaks. this happened to Carrie Fisher after she had to be taken off all her meds because she had an allergic reaction to one and stopped breathing. They took her off all meds, and before they solved the mystery of which med had triggered the reaction, she’d had a prolonged manic episode that prevented her from sleeping for six days, and the sleep deprivation triggered a psychotic break; the doctors feared they might not get her back. (I’ve never seen an interview where Carrie fully explained this, because I have a few medical conditions myself including depression, anxiety, and migraines, and I educated myself on my issues. I am assuming Carrie wasn’t on any new meds, that’s why the docs were unsure what triggered that reaction. But what I don’t get is why they did nothing to help her during those six sleepless days. The plan was to reintroduce one med at a time, to figure out what she could continue to take and which med had to be removed from her medicine regimen. So she had to be in the hospital being observed that entire time. They wouldn’t send her home, since the reaction resulted in her being unable to breathe. If no one else had been at her home, she’d have died.) I don’t know if you can have Bipolar and Schizophrenia or if schizophrenia has some of the same symptoms, but yes, a mental health crisis can happen very quickly, especially if you aren’t getting help for an illness or are getting improper/inadequate treatment. There was a tragic case in Canada where a young man went from fine to getting a schizophrenia diagnosis to becoming very sick very quickly. The doctor was surprised at how rapidly his mental state deteriorated, but the doc worked hard to treat him; it was difficult. I don’t think the doc grasped just how bad it really was, despite realizing how insidious this case of schizophrenia was. Eventually, the treatments seemed to be helping and the guy was starting to build a productive life. He got on a bus one afternoon to attend either college or a trade school. Unfortunately, he ended up chatting with another passenger who was a conspiracy theorist. He got off the bus before his destination and got on another to immediately return home. By the time he got there, it was the middle of the night. He was clearly in bad shape, his parents called his doctor, who said he could get him hospitalized that night. But things seemed to calm down, so the dad said he thought it could wait until the next day His siblings were visiting home as was at least one of his sisters-in-law. She (or maybe it was his sister) was pregnant. That night, he shot everyone in the house. Some survived but it was just horrific. So yep, a person can go down hill very quickly. I also wonder if she didn’t predict going missing but instead was planning to end her life, hoping or expecting not to be found. Walking into a lake isn’t typical for su!c!d@, but it’s not an impossibility. The reference to that medication not being strong enough could be interpreted as she was giving up on treatment provided the help she needed to end her suffering. Or maybe she was planning on deliberately disappearing, walking away from her life, for some reason and she did just accidentally drown in that lake.

@@bobbyrayofthefamilysmith24 many if not most cluster B disorders do not show themselves until mid-twenties to thirties. For men can be even later. Some need a trigger event some do not. Point is, there is nothing set in stone when it comes to mental health. It is what it is and happens when it happens. And you have to do the best you can for your loved ones that may be experiencing it because they tend to think nothing is wrong. Pay attention to everything they do. Be present. For the Marina Joyce thing, Keemstar was extremely out of line. If someone says "Something traumatic happened and I was suffering from depression," it isn't "concern" that makes you say "Okay but what was it?" When someone says they've had a trauma and don't want to go into details, you as an internet stranger do not get to heckle them and force them to open up further about it. It has to be said on their time or else you're only furthering the extent of the trauma.

The story about the woman who stalked the gospel singer, crashed her car, and disappeared, is very very similar to a story that happened in streator, il in around 2010. A woman and her husband went to a Christmas party and on their way home they crashed. The husband was found dead at the scene. The woman went missing. She stayed missing for months. There was a big blizzard that year. Because of that, despite almost a month of searching in the area, there was no sign at all of the woman. Many people in town, quite literally, claimed it was aliens. The truth was, the woman was disoriented, left the car, and walked a mile away from it trying to find help before she succumbed to her the cold and her injuries. She was found in the spring after the snow melted. Fortunately, no alien activity was discovered.

I definately think Kenny ended his life: No professional hiker would leave their phone behind, as its absolutely vital for GPS should a hiker get lost, unless it was intentional. He was unemployed for over a year and had massive financial issues to point of potentially selling his home. He was known to suffer from depression He left his camera behind, which makes no sense if ge was looking for the missing cave He left search results on his computer such as, how to disappear, help me, suicide methods, how to die. There was no food or water in his vehicle, which he always kept in order to rehydrate after a long hike, almost as if he knew he wasnt returning to it. There is no evidence the M cave even exists, it could be a story he made up to entertain people. After the trauma of finding his dads dead body, he wouldnt want to inflict that trauma on other people. This case has always bothered me because of the wacky conspiracy theories associated with, its nice to see a video not focusing on them for a change.

She said she really wanted to finish the show for the fans. I can’t believe someone with so much pain can push through it! I’m from Kalamazoo, Michigan and never heard of the Taleka story. It’s truly heartbreaking. As some context. The Raddison Hotel is a REALLY nice hotel fairly close to a really rough area of downtown Kalamazoo. Seeing people acting more than a little crazy in that area is not uncommon. Twice over the last semester when driving to the local community college for class I’ve seen people acting extremely strange. It also isn’t strange for People with schizophrenia to “self medicate.” TBH it just seems like was going through a bad episode, self medicated, got behind the wheel of a car and just fell into the water after driving off of the road. It’s really sad tbh.

It’s so incredibly sad, and scary to think that it’s possible to be very intelligent *and* also have delusions. @@rowancook4369 @Hannah B I get that from an anxiety disorder standpoint. The spiraling thoughts don't stop because someone tells you it's not going to end up this way or that way. I've been called delusional and overreactive when I get anxious, which just gets me more anxious now about something else entirely (!!), but nowadays I'm better at stopping and asking myself if I'm just having spiraling thoughts. Plus, I switched from Prozac to Zoloft, and the spiraling thoughts have lessened and I'm generally more calm about things...it's a little weird when the irrational thoughts halt, but also so relieving. My anxiety got so bad in my senior year of college that I suffered my first episode of derealization while driving to Target. Things felt really numb and dream-like, and I genuinely didn't know whether or not I was awake when I merged lanes to exit onto a parkway. All I knew "for sure" is that my 2000s playlist was on. When I finally parked and got inside, I roamed without much recognition of what I was there for until I sat down on a shelf and pulled my phone out. I messaged my friends on Discord and they talked me through what I needed to do, which was name every thing I could see in front of me. I typed it out to them and said it out loud, and it helped ground me a bit. I'm just so thankful that I reach out for help whenever I feel these things happen, and I'm in therapy now. One of the things that struck me about Kenny Veach's story of the "M-Shaped Cave" is that unless one marks the location on a map or tags it through GPS coordinates for future reference, it can be very easy to lose track of its location, especially in that area of desert which straddles the Nevada/California state line. Trying to recall a particular cave by the shape of the mouth of the cave can be tricky, as rock slides and rock falls can alter the shape of these caves and their entrances on a pretty regular basis. Most of these desert caves, defiles, ravines, and gorges are made of soft sandstone. Even without much weathering from rain, the rock can still weaken and collapse pretty easily just through temperature variations throughout the day and night. Also, he was absolutely correct that those areas are simply riven with such features dotted among the hills. You can come across dozens within a few hours walk. It's not too surprising he never found the same cave again, or found it but didn't recognize it.

I feel that Kenny loved the desert more than anything else and just wanted to disappear into it so he could be a part of it forever. I’m guessing he hiked until he found a cave far away from even the area he filmed in the M Cave videos. In fact, his experience with the M Cave was probably just a fantastical story he concocted to give his disappearance a more mysterious send off. A sort of legacy if you will. When he got to his final destination, he crawled deep inside said cave and probably used his pistol to…well…you know. He wanted to forever rest in the place he loved most.

@None-Trick_Pony
@None-Trick_Pony Жыл бұрын
By jove, you might be right! This is the most plausible theory yet. It ties up many loose ends and answers many of the mysterious questions. Damn it, maybe I've been reading too much Agatha Christie but to explain myself as to why I like this answer so much I need the order and the method of Poirot. Here we go! Firstly: by the theory that the 'M' cave was totally fabricated, we cleanly answer all these questions in one fell swoop: •Why has a cave matching his specs not been found? •How could such a unscientific "vibrational" cave exist? •If such a fantastical cave did exist on the outskirts of a top secret military base, why doesn't the US just extend their acreage a little bit? Then we come to the question of why fabricate it? I personally find your answer a tad bit too dramatic. But I'll get back to that. Now why would he kill himself? That's been answered satisfactorily. As it runs in my family on both sides, I'm well aware of how damn genetic depression is. If his father had it to the severity of suicide, there's a good chance he had it. And discovering his fathers corpse is not something I imagine he could ever mentally escape from. So in the end, his poor soul has been tormented to the point where his only joys no longer can bear the weight of his cross. Here's where I was stuck: why make your loved one's worry so much about your disappearance? Even if you decided to leave this place in the place you loved most, surely you would let the one who you loved so much know? But I was thinking like myself! For the few months I was in college, it became too much and I started to feel like a total failure and for the first time in my life seriously contemplate suicide before dropping out. I won't go into details, but suffice to say on the highly unlikely chance I did go through, everyone would have been notified. So that's where I was stuck. Then I realized the obvious! If part of the reason you did it was because you found your father's corpse, you would do everything in your power to make sure no one you loved found yours. And where is better than a place you've scouted out extensively? A cave in the middle of nowhere? But people might look for him, and he doesn't want to be found. So we come back to our 'M' cave. I think he found his spot, created the story of the 'M' cave, shot some unassuming fruitless footage searching for this cave on the opposite side of the range from his chosen location. Not as a legacy, as a red herring. This solution answers why on earth a man who doesn't want to be ever found would desire such an enduring search in the area of his death, or why a man who was tormented by his father's legacy would want a legacy of his own. Everything adds up. You sir are a genius and I've wasted far too much time explaining myself. I've got to go, now. Good day, sir!

the marina joyce situation makes me so mad. it was like a preview of the too much true crime brained tiktok detective problem now. just so, parasocial and invasive. it was obvious she was just going through something, i figured it was a mental health crisis or something and she just needed time and privacy to work through it. the fact that she was dealing with MS and coping with losing her vision, and the reality of what would happen to her body over time, while dealing with the drama gnome and crazy parasocial freaks is just heart breaking. im honestly amazed by the positive energy she manages to project through all that

I could tell from just looking at the footage that something was wrong with her and somehow it seemed eerie similiar - but could not quite figure out why untill the bit where she said she has MS, the movement of hers, the speak patern ... almost the same like my Aunt .... fucking scary, and it only will get worse ... i hate MS.

Kenny's story is so sad. I've heard of him and the "M cave" before, however I never heard the part about what happened to his father and that Kenny found him. That makes the story make a lot more sense. Pretty much every youtuber leaves that out. The more "mysterious disappearance" cases I look into the more I realize that most youtubers leave out details that point to a logical explanation. This is either them not doing proper research or them attempting to sensationalize what happened and make it a conspiracy theory. This happens especially often with "Missing 411" cases. Thanks for doing some real research Wavyweb.

@@TheFapFactory The most recent one I looked into was the Aaron Hedges case. Aaron had a history of substance abuse and was almost certainly in withdrawals while they were hunting. The missing 411 movie barely makes note of this and they never interview the two hunters that were actually with Aaron right before he went missing. There was an entire police investigation into the disappearance and the MAIN SOURCE OF INFORMATION about the events that took place, and what happened to him, came from the testimony of those two guys. Not only are they not interviewed in the movie, their testimony is almost completely ignored. This testimony mentions that Aaron was sickly, not in a very friendly mood, could barely shoot his bow, obviously struggling with withdrawals, and probably should not have been out there in his condition. He got in an argument with his two hunting partners and then wandered out of camp and disappeared. Not to mention that his body was actually found in a "bear stash". He was in poor physical and mental condition, wandered away from camp, and either got killed by a bear, or died of exposure and was scavenged by a bear. Really no big mystery at all. I would hardly consider the case, "without any reasonable explanation". I highly recommend the channel, "The Missing Enigma". He covers many disappearances including "411" cases and does a much better job presenting all the available info than pretty much every other KZfaqr. Once you get all the info on many of these cases you begin to realize how poor most of David Paulides "research" actually is.

taleka's case reminds me of how i used to be when i broke up with my ex. i was living in a delusional episode, fully content in the belief that i'd be his husband and we'd live in a large extravagant house together and be married with two kids of our own, which we'd adopt. once you've built up all of those expectations, and it all falls apart in your face, you continue with the delusion. you want to convince yourself that you didn't do all of this for nothing, and that this would *still* happen no matter what. i remember "texting" him, acting as if he was still responding to me even though he didn't. even after, i had this little journal where i pretended to be writing to him and telling him about my day. taleka was a really, *really* chilling glimpse at how i used to be. edit: it's really chilling how normal you can act while living in a delusional episode. like, i still remember going to school and doing things i was asked, and on occasion acting happy, but sometimes the façade would break and i'd have breakdowns. the situation is at the back of your mind the entire time-it's not easy to break out of. it was really, *really* upsetting to watch taleka's portion leading up to her disappearance. engaging in risky behavior is quite common for me when i'm in a downward spiral too, but luckily i'm closely monitored so that would never happen.

The whole Marina Joyce debacle was ridiculous. Her fans and critics jumped to insane conclusions on very little, flimsy "evidence" and demanded information from her. Marina had zero obligation to divulge personal details about herself or her life and they had no right to demand it of her. It was none of their business. She repeatedly stated that she was ok. That should have been the end of it but no, that wasn't good enough for them. The idiots kept pulling on that thread and using their own ignorance as more so-called "evidence". Some like Keemstar even criticised her for not wanting to expose personal information online by way of an explanation. If she didn't want to talk about personal stuff, that was her right. How dare they keep pestering her like that?! Honestly, it was just harassment, pure and simple. The M cave story is quite terrifying. Not because of the disappearance, but because of the cave. There have been reports from hikers at Mt. Shasta of similar caves causing extreme and sudden feelings of dread and being watched. In some instances people have reported seeing glowing eyes and elongated, non-human beings watching them or stalking them after getting close to the cave. In one instance, a hiker encountered a similar being inside the cave and blacked out, waking up quite a distance from the cave many hours later. The general theory is that these caves are inhabited by some sort of ET that possess telepathic abilities and use the overwhelming dread to keep people from entering the caves. Both Mt. Shasta and McKinley Air Force base are known for anomalous activity, which makes the story even more interesting.

My theory about Kenny: If he had the intention of taking his own life, it's quite likely that he wouldn't want to be found. He would deliberately avoid the area where he found that cave while filming to make sure his final resting place would remain unknown for years to come. I believe he entered the cave, travelling as far down as he possibly could, before using his pistol to take his own life. The unease he felt at the cave could be because of his anxiousness. He knew that he would be isolated there, and made sure to only venture out again when he felt ready to do so. To summarise, Kenny went out, likely with the intention of ending his life. He left any electronic equipment that could be used to track his location at a good distance from the cave. Upon reaching the cave, he entered and went deep down. In solitude, he'd sit down in deep thought, before positioning his firearm and pulling the trigger. It's a tragedy that we'll never know for sure, at least not for a very long time to come. Perhaps someday his remains will be found, and he'll finally be laid to rest. To all who may seek this cave, tread carefully, respectfully and with dignity. Not only is the layout of the cavern unknown; it also serves as the catacomb of a man who left his friends, family and his fans doing what he loved. I can only hope that he felt no such fear again when at the entrance.

Just when they were about to give up after two months of looking they recognized a body in the morgue. It was their brother. The police was forced to investigate. They found out that a worker at the hotel their brother was staying in told their brother he would show him a part of the city. He then killed their brother and threw his body in a canal and this man stole his British passport and tried to enter Europe. The saddest part was the Turkish police and justice system did everything to prevent this guy from going to prison purely because their was a Christian and Turkey is Muslim. This murderer was actually from Egypt and after he was found guilty in the courts they deported him to Egypt. He walks freely in Egypt. They never got justice for their brother. It is dangerous to travel alone.

The story surrounding Taleka Patrick is pretty tragic if you think about it. Seeing this woman posting videos of herself as her mental health deteriorates is so sad to look at, considering how it was all on an obscure channel that not many people would bat an eye at. Had this been on a more well-known channel, then it's likely that Taleka would've gotten the help she needed before it was too late.

It's pretty obvious that she was succumbing to schizophrenia, which usually doesn't manifest until the afflicted is in their 20s. It's so tragic; I can't imagine how scary it must be to live with untreated schizophrenia.

The saddest thing about the first two stories to me is we may never get an answer on what happened to them. I hope for their families and other loved ones they are found so they can have answers but that's all we can do until someone finds them, hope.

Kenny's case is so suspicious. All these posts about so-called M cave which is somehow the only one he fears, i thought it could end as some hoax. But the man is gone now, so his "vibrations" and fear in that cave were real? Why did he take his life before finding this cave again if he was so obsessed with it? Because of it i am not so sure about this version. As for the second guy, there are a lot of comments stating he was killed by a cougar. Probably, but since there were no blood, no traces, only pants without wallet, this version might not be 100% true. If it is so obvious to some armchair detectives, why do officials not state this as the main probability?

Horror movies teach us well with this stuff. If you’re alone and you hear or see something strange, don’t go to it. We can’t find ghosts, what we can find is something that could probably kill us.

Kenny Veach: "One time during one of my hikes out by Nellis Air Force Base, I found a hidden cave. The entrance to the cave was shaped like a perfect capital M. I always enter every cave I find, but as I began to enter this particular cave, my whole body began to vibrate. The closer I got to the cave entrance, the worse the vibrating became. Suddenly I became very scared and high-tailed it out of there. That was one of the strangest things that ever happened to me.”

There’s actually a horror movie loosely based off this called Horror in the High Desert. I didn’t even realize until I watched this and heard of Kenny. Was kind of an eerie moment. The movie is great btw if anyone is interest. If Kenny ended his own life, I hope that he found peace.

Wavy didn’t mention this, and I didn’t see it in the comments, so I’d like to point out something really eerie. I think Teleka drowned because she was trying to swim to the bottom of the lake. Her tweets about “going underground” make me think this. Obviously she was having a mental health episode but it’s still unsettling as hell; to think she tried to go “underground”, likely some imaginary paradise, by swimming to the bottom of a lake, and drowning in the process. I don’t see how else she could have drowned, unless of course she simply couldn’t swim. But I find it hard to believe a person of her intellect wouldn’t know how to keep themselves afloat.

I do somewhat disagree though respect this theory. For starters, she was very symptomatic, I wouldn't be surprised if she was experiencing heavy delusions and hallucinations. Perhaps she was trying to escape through the dark winter night, and ended up in the lake. Not being able to see and having a spontaneous tactile sensory of being in cold water, mixed with the emotional distress from her mental state, might've caused a shock to her system and caused her to go into cardiac arrest. That said, I somewhat wish your theory to be true since it's less traumatic.

I think a lot of people are missing the part where it was the middle of winter in Michigan. The likeliest explanation for how she wound up in the lake is that she walked across it, because it was iced over and so she didn't know there was even a lake there, and fell through the ice. When you fall suddenly into freezing water your whole body goes into hypothermic shock, your limbs become paralyzed, you automatically gasp, and you drown within seconds - whether or not you know how to swim. Was she wandering around in the woods in the middle of winter due to a psychotic episode? Yeah, probably. But "fell through the ice" still makes more sense than "trying to swim to the underground". If she wanted to get underground, she would have been digging.
