Edgar Mitchell was my fathers cousin he sent me a picture of the 14 crew i have kept for the last 40 years it always peaked my interest ..we went on a trip and fished with George Mitchell i believe in joplin. My dad finally told me stop asking him about Edger and fish..i never met him but that autographed picture wich he signed to my nephew...has brought much joy and coolness points as a young boy and is probably why. I fly today...'as he breaks the surely bonds of earth and touches the face of god" (quit bird-mans prayer) i looked one year to late

Rest in peace Edgar Mitchell. You were a great pilot, scientist, and a great human being.

You will be missed Dr Edgar Mitchell thank you for all the truth, modesty and insight you have given me and others. You truly are and should be a role model to all on this planet. If only there were more people like you on this planet. Much love you will never be forgotten.

I am profoundly saddened by his passing. Many people do not know, that Edgar travelled to Haines, Alaska , ALONE , in November of 2012 to appear in the movie , "The Grounded" and "Prescription is Earth"... A true pioneer and hero. You can watch the second one for free in which Edgar appears on youtube .

I learn more about my culture (Hinduisim) and the profound impact it has bought forward, after leaving my homeland. To understand somethings or someone's importance, sometimes you have to look at it from a distance, separate yourself from it, and then we can see, the truth. Its just like for a fish that spends the entire living life in water - doesn't know the concept, until it gets a chance to leap 'out' of it..
