Remember always turn off the power from the panel, test at the switch to confirm the power supply has been cut off, and then lock the panel out before starting any electrical work.

If you haven’t done the re-wiring yet, look up Lutron switches. They have basically a remote that you can put into a light switch plate anywhere you’d like without having to rewire!

I just redid our small kitchen and I totally feel what you’re feeling! We ended up going with Ikea cabinets, quartz countertop (there was a quartz sale) and handles. We found a lot of parts for our kitchen at the “As-Is” section, along with backsplash and hardwares at the Habitat for Humanity restore! Definitely check out the restore for tiles if you’re looking to save a few $!

You can paint your cabinets light gray top cabinets, dark blue or dark olive bottom cabinets. They are really nice shakers and you said they are in great shape.. The dark gray version of the flooring tiles are really pretty..

Replace the light fixture with one that has a remote, then you don’t need to change the light switch. Just always keep the switch on and use the remote and mount wherever you want.

Excited to see what y'all do! How are you going to set up the drain for your dishwasher? After you removed the fridge I realized there's only the incoming water pipe, and it's not particularly close to the sink to tap into the sink drain...

My question is, how do you figure out the layout? So we want to do a kitchen reno but we want to add a pantry and possibly move the fridge. Do we have to contact an interior designer or is there a website that can help us reconfigure our existing layout?

It's a lot of measuring back and forth. How your electrical and plumbing is laid out also affects things! At the end of the day it's how much you can afford to change, and this is what we're working with!

Please choose an induction stovetop🙏🏼 gas is so bad for the environment and your health plus it gets so unnecessary hot

We thought about it for a long time, but decided to opt for a gas range. It's a luxury for the cooking we want to do, and unfortunately the appliances we were looking at didn't offer induction electric. I see your point though, and will weigh our impact more heavily for future purchases
