Humble opinion you transformed from magazine writers/editors to youtubers in this build series. Talked crap to each other and trolled the audience. You’ve always been super nice people, probably nicest guys on youtube. Now you have a small edge. Like friends talking trash in home garage or work. Anyway congrats on successful series. God Bless.

Your content is well produced (not too raw) and very easy to digest. I personally like the building and restoring. I think when it comes to the driving, maybe a comparison to its stock counterpart would help to see the improvements after all the mods. You could try some edited content about you guys sourcing and buying the vehicles too. People like a good story to follow. Keep up the hard work!

The thing that I love about these builds is that they are true daily drivable builds. Not something you build and forget. You can enjoy them everyday. They're easily repairable and they are great for any occasion. Especially the Lexus. You need a big body luxury car to impress a new client or invester they're great. You need a spacious car to drive the kids around, they're great. You wanna go on a date with the wife, they're great. You wanna go for a canyon drive, they're great. You wanna go for a late night city cruise, they're great. You need to get rid of a body, take a guess. More builds like these. Great all around daily driveable performance builds.

When I recommend this channel to my friends one of the first things I mention is Dave driving hard on TMP, it's personally one of my favorite things about the channel and I felt it was a little sad that the two builds weren't driven for a hot lap or two by the man, the myth, the legend of TMP. I love what you guys do and the rivalries is one of the highlights of channel when it comes to competing builds, and the recent added humor and interpersonal banter adds a lot of character so keep up all that guys you're doing great! Just wanna see more hard driving! (Side note I think most viewers knew what car would win in the straight line, but I was curious how the two cars would have behaved under load and which one would say have a better lap time)

@@speedacademy I agree here. We really need a hot lap, even if the LS is compromised, that is half the fun! Driving videos ultimately have a greater pool of potential watchers, you guys just haven't tapped into it yet. Drag racing the two only services those who have been following the builds. Perhaps a comparison between the LS and a stock LS. Or a camping trip using the m wagon. Or have thestraightpipes do a video on them. What drew me to these builds is the fact that they're big body sedans, and the builds had an emphasis on making daily drivable cars from the start. The Lexus really drew me in being a really attainable car, and also being someone with a Toyota project of my own that will hopefully receive it's own Lexus V8 at some point. As for why the Lexus vs. BMW track video didn't do as well? I think a lot of people knew the outcome already. It's very well shot, but we didn't learn much. I feel like you guys are at your best at the track chasing lap times, dialing in cars, and getting into the science of putting together a good lap time. When I think of the quintessential Speed Academy video, it's that moment with the ASS2000 breaking into the sub 1:20s - not only was that car the culmination of a ton of work, but you can really see the two of you fighting for those last few tenths of a second.

I love both the driving and the wrenching videos. I think what really gets me about this particular series is that both the Lexus and now the BMW M5 are very attainable cars with plenty of info on how to maintain and fix them. The fact that the Lexus is supercharged (though nobody would know at a glance) and the wagon is packing M5 levels of performance while looking more like a 530i wagon also adds to their charm.

Love to see both of the cars "finished". I honestly can't pick a winner. An E39 M5 is absolutely iconic, a dream car for many, and hands down wins the driving experience. Being a wagon brings it to another level. The Lexus has beautiful big body style with great stance and is going to be the ultimate cruiser. With a black interior and a 6 speed it would be truly great (and a few more pounds of boost, obviously.) Can't wait to see the next builds!

I really wish you guys would have taken the cars on the track and raced them, even if it wouldnt have been a close race. Not necessarily just drag racing. Also gentlemen, you two imo make the best car videos on KZfaq, seriously superb job guys!

Also yes to more wrenching than driving. The in-depth videos are the best! My favorite stuff on KZfaq

E39 M5 wagon - every car guys daily driver dream car - especially when you show a realistic swap - with all the warts and solutions for factory and custom mods. You also made a bullet-proof but vanilla car cool with effective bolt-ons that work. Plus the dyno to show the actual gains - excellent.

This was my favorite thing to watch on youtube since the first episode of the series! As far as the driving aspect goes, I really loved what you did with the end of the miata series where you guys had fellow automotive youtube stars taking a whip around the track of your completed project. Maybe treat the people who helped you guys get these projects together with some time on the track as a thank you and see who does best lap times? Keep up the good work! Looking forward to the next build series!🤩

This series represents the best of KZfaq car culture for me. This was a great look at the good, bad, and ugly. I was inspired by the way you took something old and infused a lot of cool into it.

I loved seeing the outside driving shots. Seeing the hustle around the track is great. Loved to hear that the cars are not going away. I remember you guys working in that chicken coupe, it was when I first found out about the channel and subbed right away. You guys are doing the dream.

Great series guys. I watch every episode of every build, I like wrenching and racing and although I watched the drag and roll race video I really wanted to see a circuit race. I know the BMW would have won but still wanted to see these things rip around TMP.

Wrenching and driving vids are both great. Keep both. Edits were on point, information was great. Keep up the great vids! That being said, I believe the next "build off" will bring you alot more pull for views. Cant wait to watch more!

Absolutely love the visit to the old shop, so much nostalgia. That's where I really started digging this channel with the Scion and (Bad)Ass 2000 builds

Man, I’ve wanted an LS for a long time and this series really solidified it for me. Both cars are super cool but I absolutely love that build (I’d look for the black interior though). I watched every episode and do enjoy the wrenching! I also like the “this vs that” format you’ve been using recently. I really liked this episode a little more than the track video, just get really engaging and to hear other thoughts. Maybe it was the kinda wider cast involved, maybe after the pandemic there can be more involvement from others. I’ve always like the videos with NV Auto, BMS Tuning, Sasha, the tuning during the BMW M3 series, just that aspect of bringing in a couple more guys who can specialize or give a little more insight. Anyway, love the channel. Love you two together, personalities are great. Thanks for the content! I’m glad I can support thru Patreon.
