I like that you share your learning experiences with us...Having similar multi- pipework in my last kitchen, I think your hated paint sprayer might save you a lot of time and effort going around and behind all of them. Then you could go around the rest of the walls with your rollers and brushes...To me, it seems that food is very expensive in your part of France; it seems a lot more pricey than similar items in UK...ps. One thing to mention is if the farmer did not pick up the dock plants from your forest area, after he mowed it, they will survive winter and drop thier hundreds of seeds, to grow back even worse in the spring. It's a good idea to pick them up now, and burn them. If you do that every year, you should be able to eradicate them, plus, try to get it cut before the seeds start showing is even better, but I know that may be difficult to get farmer out when it is best time to do it. Find some old tarp and go along the rows, putting the cut plants in center of tarp. they aren't heavy, so you can then gather up the 4 corners and carry to bonfire site. The children might enjoy doing that.

Ok let's talk paint. I don't know why people buy paint thin as water. Benjamin Moore has a store in paris that delivers to anywhere in France and sells paint thick as yogurt. They have different levels of quality. We ordered twelve gallons of paint and they delivered it for free.

Prime all your walls, then paint. You can change the dark colars to white.

Now just think about all the preservatives, GMO's, steroids, hormones, antibiotics, industrial chemicals and toxic waste you are no longer feeding your children...they stand a far better chance of living and healthy growth without all the garbage in American food. Once you learn a little french cuisine you can save even more money because the foods we are used to from the states are more expensive here because the demand is so low.....
