I was furious when Kroger locked my shopping cart wheels after I left the checkout. They said they do it randomly to check the receipts. Um, I just walked away from a full service cashier and two baggers? How was I meant to have been shoplifting? I was livid. It embarrassed me and also the girl who came to ask for my receipt and also the manager I asked to speak with. I don't shop there anymore unless it's something I can only buy at Kroger and can carry in a basket. No more carts with auto locks. Also - I'm sitting here enjoying my grilled onions and bell peppers frugal-harvested from Aldi after hours! Along with grilled chicken I bought the traditional way. Thank you for so much inspiration!

The cart locked up on me as well,I had no idea why! I only had two light bags so I just left the cart.I used a checker n bagger as well.boy o boy ,now I'm offended. They have some nerve.

We don't have a Kroger, but I've never heard of such a thing! I'd be so upset. Isn't that falsely accusing people of shoplifting? I've heard of the videos, but LOCKING CARTS are ridiculous. Have a Blessed Day 💖✝

It was a new thing, so I gave them my 'feedback'. The next time I went, I found a cart without the mechanism on it. But since then, I've really stopped shopping there. Is that what they want? Honest shoppers to spend money some place else? Probably not, but that's what they got from me. @@cindymichaud7111

Amy, I do not agree with self checkouts at all! That what store employee’s are for, they get paid, have jobs. Customers do not get paid and those machines mess up and it takes longer to get out of the store! The two times we used one store employees wanted to check and rescan the whole lot. I told them I would rather leave my shopping than go through that malarkey. Never again will we even think to self scan..taking away jobs from people!

I agree. People need jobs. The economy is difficult enough as it is. And customers are not employees; they're not receiving a discount or credit for their work in checking themselves out.

@@gloriastroedecke2717 precisely! Stores gaining more profits by getting customers to scan and bag, effectively doing away with jobs in turn making more money. I have watched others using those self checkouts, those machines take longer as they are forever messing up!

Exactly and it's hard to know if they're bringing up stuff right that's their problem you know what if the s*** ain't wrong up right cuz I noticed sometimes at Walmart some of the machines are turned down way low and you can't hear them if it's scan so you know what don't scan screw you get your own damn fault Walmart seriously you you shouldn't have to be Walmart Kroger Aldi stores we shouldn't have to scan our own food cuz they make it so there's only one line open one register or two in all these stores now you have to do it they forced you into doing it that's ashamed

I flatly refuse to use self checkout. They are putting thousands of people out of work, they don't pay ME to scan and pack my shopping, and I do not get staff discount either! xx

Hi Frugal family, just a note to you Amy. A hair dresser told me if I ever decided to cut my own hair. Pull it up at the top middle in a ponytail make sure it’s tight then cut it. I have done this many times and she is correct 👍🏻 it’s always even. For your 2 Aldi trips FD that was awesome, the pumpkin pie looks delicious as well as the cheesecake. Wonderful work for your frugal family ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️💜 Have a fun filled weekend!

Yes they have those cameras in Woolworths here in Brisbane Australia. I was told by a friend they are going to introduce new camera systems in coles that as soon as you walk in it follows you and keeps a eye out of what you put in your trolley aka cart. People complain alot about the cameras here and my motto is if your not stealing you should have anything to worry about. I'm glad daddy didn't step on the cheesecake but even he did I would still eat it . I made cheesecake yesterday. Great second haul daddy

Dear Amy, I hope you are well as you don't seem to be yourself lately, not as bubbly. You are a lovely couple.(Well done FD, on a great double dip). America appears to be facing many shortages rice, flour, sugar, salt, tinned goods. Some people are so afraid of CCTV, watching us, but if it helps stop shoplifters ( who cause price rises across the board), stop people being kidnapped, murdered, assaulted I'm all for it. If governments want to follow my every move they will experience extreme boredom because that's my life, as I have been forced to slow right down this year and I hate it. At least I'm alive and so lucky in my family and friends ❤❤❤👵🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🌹🌹

That's rather creepy about the cameras. I can only use a self checkout if I only have a few items. I'm old and feeble...seriously. Omg! You two are too damn funny. The Canadian Tire closest to me just did a $3 million renovation and removed the self checkouts! Glad to see them gone, not that I used them. Whenever an employee tries to steer me towards one, I just say, no thank you and smile. In my head: Like buddy, I'm not trained for this shit, I need on the job experience and my anxiety won't allow me to work in front of strangers...too much pressure!!! 😂🤣🤣

I did know about this security feature on self checkouts. I read article recently about that & of the customer " intentionally" doesn't pass an article across the scanner the system sends alerts to the cashiers that are there to assist.

My sister in law one time thought she had scabies on her forearm. So she put toilet bowl cleaner on it. And scrubbed it with a scrub brush. She went to er with severe chemical burns.
