They dyed his hair in The Adam Project and they gave him brown eye contacts. So I think they'll change his hair and eyes for sure hopefully.

I don’t think that Riordan would let pass a non-black haired and non-green eyed Percy. And if I remember correctly, he is the executive producer in the show, meaning that he calls a lot of the shots unlike the previous film adaption. They will most certainly dye his hair and give him contacts, as Uncle Rick would want.

@@chrisa.4292 Actually there’s still a possibility that he wouldn’t change anything on Walker’s appearance because Becky Riordan is open about how Annabeth not being white and blonde is fine by them as long as they carried their role well, so it might be the same for Percy. However, I do think that they should at least stick to Percy’s original and popular look since it’d be good for marketing, making him more distinguishable for the public. Meaning from the moment they see Walker’s black hair and sea-green eyes, they’d immediately recognize that it is Percy Jackson and no one else. It would be nice if they do the same for Annabeth to at least give her the details would make her stand out like her blonde hair (or her signature curls and ponytail with bangs at least) and gray eyes. Since the fans have been asking for POC Annabeth, I think it would be nice to add those details too if ever they cast a POC for Annabeth. At the end of the day, Rick would still have the final call on this one and I hope they stick to the book 100%

The fact that Riordan seems to be closely involved with the project is a VERY good sign. When they made the movies they basically kept him at arms length and it showed.

He is going to be great as Percy. Also, if the first line is “Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood” then just it’ll make a lot of people very happy. Your excitement was like mine, I was just running around a room not knowing what to do. This part stuck out to me when you read his date of birth and said he was a baby, in your eyes, I’m also a baby. Interesting to know.

It's nice knowing that he is a big fan of the series because that means he will love working on the project I also hope that green eye contact lenses work because I feel in a way that is a very important physical feature he has but I am 100% sure the show will work out great and I bet this kid is already nervous to find out who Annabeth us because of the kids in the battle of the labrynth and the underwater kiss

I think they made the right choice with Walker. Child actors are hit and miss and Walker excelled in both his spitfire humor and dramatic performance in The Adam Project, I wish him the best of luck!

as soon as I found out it was him I went to watch the Adam Project straight away lol. Watched it last night. He is very talented. Definitely has the Percy humour/comedic timing. Some scenes in the Adam Project could literally be scenes in The lightining thief it just made me so happy. I cannot wait to see the show! If they start filming this summer it will probably come out late next year? 2023... who knows. ahhhhhh

also in the adam project he had brown contacts (to match Ryan Reynolds' eyes) so he is not allergic!! Also I think his hair is actually brown it just has some left-over blonde from when he dyed it in Adam Project... I think he dyed it at least idk. But yh I'm sure they will dye it black for Percy

the best part is that this news was released on my birthday (so thanks Rick for the bday present) and I was just checking my phone during class when I saw that on twitter and istg I felt so many different emotions and my friends actually started asking if I was okay lmao I also just watched the Adam Project and Walker was great in it so I think he'll be an amazing Percy!!

When you listen to his voice, it sounds like Percy's voice if you imagined it before. And he has the same sort of awkward smile Percy probably has. He honestly is to perfect for the role.

I watched The Adam Project the day it came out and Walker was great! Perfect comedic timing and awesome line delivery. So him being cast as Percy makes complete sense!

Wow this is incredible. I didn’t know what to say when I saw that he was going to be Percy Jackson. he is perfect for the role and with black hair and contact lenses, he is going to be perfect!!! I am so excited to see who is going to play Annabeth and Grover. Sure they are going to be perfect, if Rick Riordan choose them!!!

Think he’s a great choice, my only concern is the dyslexia and ADHD part… I’m sure he’s an excellent actor, but dyslexia and ADHD aren’t as easy to imitate as one might think. I know from having dyslexia and ADHD myself. But I’m sure they’re working with professionals to get it just right

I really wasn't expecting to actually know any of the main cast, since they're so young, so this was a cool surprise. Also, on the topic of green eyes, the color could also be changed in post processing if they didn't want to do contacts.

I saw the Adam Project, and Rick's right. Walker is absolutely PERFECT to play Percy Jackson. Aryan was a lot of fun in Cheaper by the Dozen. Can't speak for Leah yet, but I'm confident that Rick is casting the right people.

Exactly, no a week's notice, nothing, nada, no "oh by the way, we got Percy cast, okay bye" but oh my gods I'm so happy, it's my brother's 22nd birthday today, this will be a memorable day for me. Let's hope that it will be a blast of a cast, I didn't watch the movie but he seems cute and good. I try to picture him with black hair and green eyes already. I try. He’s so perfect for the role I’m glad the show seems to already be off to a good start. Honestly, I can picture him as Percy, which rarely happens with book to movie adaptations, and he can wear contacts and dye his hair and omg omg he’s just so perfect for it, and he’s so naturally funny and he’ll be a hilarious main character, I physically can’t contain my excitement for something so long-awaited by me and the fandom!!!

I went home and opened Instagram just because I'm bored, and see a big photo of him and the post says HE is going to act Percy and I'm like whaaaaaaaaaaaat is this true and I searched things about him and and so it is true! It feels so unreal! Can't wait to see who will be Annabeth and Grover🤩
