Another great looking fence! When notching the post, its a good idea to angle the bottom cut so the water drains away and doesnt sit on the ledge, causing it to rot faster.

It is always better when you have someone to help you. You and Rebecca work well together. Is there a way to turn water off your roof in a different area. Then pipe excess farther away from barn. Some gravel would help to slow down the mud. Bigger rock for base, then crush and run on top. Blessings😊

We've done the hinges both ways, but if you forget to point one down you can drill a hole in the top hinge stud and put a heavy cotter pin in it to keep them from lifting it off. Then you don't need tools to remove the gate, just pull the cotter pin.

You 2 complete each other. Rebecca, I do the same. Since there is no Mrs. Pullman, I do the exact thing on my spread. The place for all family gatherings. Afterwards, like now, dieting time, especially with Mardi Gras in full swing now. Love the progress you 2 are making on the place. It's great to put your own mark on it. Sets the standard you are looking for.

Add lots of sand to the barnyard for better drainage and add some gutters to move most of the water away from the mud pit. Maybe move the downhill fence further from the barn so you have more room to turn your tractor.
