I think the biggest problem is that the Royal Court put all the responsibility onto Wilhelm Instead of having a representative talk to Simon and his mother right after Wille’s speech. Simon is not used to being in the public eye, and naturally feels he has to defend himself against all of these comments. I don’t think you fully understand the repercussions until the rock gets thrown through the window. If he had been warned about it by an adult, I think it would’ve sunk in more. So I think the story and the characters’ actions way makes perfect sense. I also think that August is shown to be a troubled young man more clearly in this season, and I think we come to understand him better.

I would disagree, I think that Simon is a teenager and would still do what he wants. He knew selling his fathers pills were wrong, and he still did it. He knew that the royal family had controlling tendencies and he still decided to date Wilhelm. I do agree with you when saying someone should have spoken to him. And honestly August troubled past was disclosed in the first season when his mom came to visit and that’s why it seems like I was the only one seeing him for the troubled kid he was lol

I’m with you @wwhn about Simon. However it does seem like the Royal Court is setting Wilmon’s relationship up for failur by not mediatraining Simon after Wilhelm’s speech. They put all the pressure on Wilhelm to tell Simon all the time he messed up on social media, which put’s a strain on their relationship. I love Wilmon som much and just want them to be happy. Thank you for sticking through with all the episodes. I love your reactions!💙💜

The third sentence in my comment should have read, “I don’t think he fully understands the repercussions until the rock gets thrown through the window.” I think we watching. It certainly do understand the repercussions, but it takes until then for it to really sink in for Simon.

I can see how what Simon said in the previous episode and in this episode seems contradictory but in the last episode I believe they were talking about content and lyrics of the song being misinterpreted specifically because he was singing about revolution but in this episode he was talking about people misinterpreting who they are and their relationship which are different things.

I wouldn't call this a redemption arc, per se. I think the show is more trying to humanize August.

i think the problems they are having of simon wanting to defend/express himself but having to be silenced because of the royal court makes perfect sense for them. simon has always been someone who is open about himself and stands on his morals. i dont think he didnt expect any public scrutiny but hes a kid and he probably thought it wouldnt be as bad as it was. but most of all, he didnt realize how much he would be controlled by the royal court to protect their image because he doesnt see himself as the royal family, just as the boyfriend of someone who is. i think this season does a great job at the issue of having to sacrifice aspects of who u are in a relationship. at the end of the day, he’s a kid and it can be really hard to just ignore the horrible things ppl say about u.
@wwhn
@wwhn 4 ай бұрын
No I totally get they’re kids as I’ve definitely voiced this in several of my videos. The main things that gets me is the inconsistency with his character. Like one minute you don’t care when you think it’ll benefit you and when it doesn’t you suddenly care. Also Simon knew about royal family had controlling tendencies last season which is why he didn’t want much to with the relationship but he still chose to be there in the end. He’s definitely human and he has a lot of growing to do but as a viewer I highlight those as I do with Wilhelm, August and Sara.

@@wwhn yea thats true, simon did have some awareness of the royal courts control. but i think he was mainly seeing it through how they were controlling wille, so to now experience it himself is an eye opener for him. i think throughout the whole series, the main problem thats been shown through simon is that he has never been able to truly understand the control of the royal family because he has never been in wille’s shoes. this is why it was hard for him to understand why wille denied the video (cause the royal family pressured him to), why wille insisted on them keeping things a secret until a plan was made (cause the royal family pressured him to), etc. now in s3, simon has to face exactly what wille has been facing for the past 2 seasons. its a big reality check for him. i think thats why his character can feel inconsistent. its this idea that u can easily judge/feel a way about a situation until u are actually put into it. love ur channel btw!

@@roze6321This is completely it; he is not able to put himself in Wille's shoes (but difficult shoes to wear right). I think maybe Simon has also difficulties to open up to differences, but I could be wrong. Differences can be very good, but it needs acceptance.

I absolutely agree that some of the drama between them feels a little forced! I think they needed ALL the drama since idk if there’s gonna be anymore seasons (I don’t think so) The finale brought all the tears for me personally so I’m very much looking forward to your upcoming reactions!!

"You are causing so much of your agony" True, you're so true. He could have privated his account instead of putting himself out there. About Felice... that scene where they wanna make the school look racist is super forced. If you look at the scene you'll notice 99% of the girls already have their hair up. Why is Felice so special she thinks she can not follow the rules when everyone else does? Okay that other girl also had her hair down and she should have been scolded, agreed, but Felice feeling wronged when she didn't follow the rules everyone is supposed to follow makes me roll my eyes. Also, really? We got introduced to her as the queen bee, the most popular girl in school, and now we're supposed to believe she's being mistreated in some way? Idk, it just doesn't fit.

Hi, big fan here! Just wanted to share some thoughts about Simon vs. the media. This is the first time that Simon has been thrust into the public eye. Sure, he might have gotten a hate comment here and there, but nothing on this level. But I think he is using the same tactics he used when he saw one or two hate comments. But, obviously, this approach isn't working. What he needs is PR training or an ADULT (not Wille) to sit down and explain things to him. Better yet, assign him a PR person. This brings me to my second point... WHY HASN'T THE COURT ASSIGNED SIMON BODYGUARDS OR/AND A PR PERSON?! I know they are aware of how vicious the public can get. When Wille made that speech, Simon and his family should have been given a list of dos and don'ts (atleast). This leads me to believe the court did this on purpose. They hoped that external pressure would drive Simon away from Wille.

JUST HAD A THOUGHT! I wonder if they’re having Simon act like this to reflect Vilhelm’s desire to express himself as well. Simon knows he shouldn’t post things and respond but he believes deep down that he wants to be himself and he doesn’t want someone preventing him from being expressive, CONTRASTING Vilhelm’s inability to express himself because of his family. He’s having to constantly talk to Simon and try to get him to not express himself WHILE desperately wishing to express himself in the same way. I think that’s probably more what they wanted to focus on vs Simon randomly changing his mind about posting online

@@wwhn AGREED! I was just in the same boat of like, why would they write his character to do this and so that’s why I tried looking at it differently. It feels like they were trying to keep the “innocence” of Simon like he wouldn’t know how people are online, I don’t believe that he wouldn’t expect drama from posting anything ESPECIALLY after the world found out about their relationship!! He should know by now what internet trolls are!! 😂

I completely agree that Simon is very inconsistent in his approach to the comments on his posts. But yes, he has the right to comment, although at the same time you have to realize that other people claim the same rights. That is the risk you take by being active on social media. And you may not like the reactions you get of your own actions, even if they are honest and are ment to do good. Better to ignore those who just spread crap around. For your own sake at least. It costs too much both in time and emotions trying to convert people who won't listen to perspectives other than their own. These anonymous social media is not a suitable platform for having a fair debate.

@@wwhn Yeah but it’s like insane bc the older generation say “Oh but I grew up with this word, it’s just a word don’t overreact” and damn my blood starts boiling even tho I’m not personally offended (I’m not black I’m white) but like it makes me so annoyed bc most of the words they used have been changed and they still use it like how hard can it be to stop calling chocolate balls “N-word balls” like it’s not that hard to just say something else.. (ofc it’s sick that this word has been used in the normal life from the beginning but you get what I mean right?) Oh and also the N-word was frequently used by teachers and you usually said something negative if you included the N-word… and the last thing is that you know the Astrid Lindgren Boom called *something* long stocking (idk what the story is called in English but it’s called ”Pippi Långstrump” in Sweden) anyways her dad was called “N-word king” but in Swedish.. this has since then been removed but like I’ve grown up when the word has been used frequently (including classmates) I probably said it myself sometime but that was before I knew anything about this.. I just find it sick that ppl still use the word when it’s so easy to just pick out another word…
