I always loved how when Happy Chaos caused (pardon the pun) chaos among the community because he used guns and gave people flashbacks of Xrd then heard El was announced, there was fear. Now she's out and all I can say is she's already one of my most used characters alongside Sin and Potemkin

Yea, Bamco revealing her early was really a bummer in my opinion, it took a lot of wind out of the hype sails. But as a whole her retooling and design overhaul is amazing. Keep Up the good work Arcsys!

I’m so glad they put Noel Vermillion into the game.

The fact that she hits us with James Brown splits and then proceeds to scream her heart out makes her victory screen the best in the game for me.

I never knew that I needed elphelt to be a rushdown character until now. I absolutely love what they did to her kit and adore her new design. Definitely my new main.

Something I haven't seen like anyone talk about is just how good all of Elphelt's alternate colors are. All of them have really good choices of color and everything is balanced by a good amount of another complementary color. 3 especially I find pretty ugly on most characters, but hers is great.

Fun fact: Elphelt's english voice is Cassandra Lee Morris, the voice actor of Morgana from P5 (Or Edea Lee from Bravely Default if you're cultured.) This game also has Matt Mercer as Zato, and Robbie Daymond and Happy Chaos. This makes three memebers of the Persona 5 cast in this game. Also completely unrelated but Baiken's english VA (Patty Mattson) voiced a Care Bear at one point. I learned that just now and I find it hysterical.

Everyone keeps neglecting the fact that bomb bomb chocolat recovers while still in air meaning you can jump or dash any which way after it making it a very good mix up tool even on block

It’s only the first 2 days of her being out, and already this character feels like one of the most fun and satisfying characters in this game. Her animations and how her Recka’s go back into each other really smoothly makes her a really great character (I’ve heard from my friend that she’s super annoying though but I’m not the one fighting her 🗿)

i logged in yesterday to play 1 match with her online but i ended up playing 3 hours straight and already have her at level 70, so it's safe to say i have a new main

1 other amazing note about Elphet is that she has the greatest outro in all of Strive.

Like every other returning character from xrd to strive they've simplified her! Since she was a "villain" in regards to the competitive tournament player base, I have noticed people are not complaining about her over simplification as they were about let say Baiken or answer etc. Interesting

Piece of advice on how to land her bomb super I found is while doing her rekka use the one that resets it then wait a moment for the block stun to end so the opponent is in a grab state then go for the super, so long as the opponent isn't mashing and you have the timing right it should work

The moment I picked up Elphelt in Strive something just clicked. Until her appearance I couldn't find a character that would let me do the high-damage punish bullshit I pull of as Slayer in Rev 2. The moment I saw her rekka it all just fell into place and I love using her in matches. Wouldn't mind if they add Slayer though, I want to traumatize another generation with Pilebunker loops.

the 214HS grenade is actually a projectile. If you RC the start-up of it with a down drift, you essentially get pineberry.

It is kinda funny how the menaces of Xrd get announced for the game literally back-to-back. I was excited for it all the same. I don't let the sins of characters in previous installments weigh their new iterations or "Deservedness" to get in the game down. Mostly just because I know they aren't going to be the same. Not only is this not Xrd anymore, but I also have the confidence that mistakes are things developers learn from. At least ones that've stayed in the game as long as Arksys have. Especially with Strive, that has shown a willingness to completely rework characters to better fit the more reserved, toned down pace of Strive. I've always believed that a character that failed on either side of the extreme are the ones that deserve to come back the most. Failure is an interesting design space to work around, getting to deconstruct and reinvent what didn't work in the past, especially if there were good ideas in there. It's what I've said about movies as well. The classics don't need remakes, it's the shit that didn't work that needs a second chance. We didn't need a lesser Exorcist, but Running Man is precisely the kind of movie that deserves another attempt.

Bouncy cute animations, a cool redesign, some zoning but only enough to be strategic with and not annoy the shit out of everybody like chaos, expressive and interesting combos that feel intuitive, and a banger theme. As always thanks Daisuke your work truly is inspired. I really enjoy how she feels to use and she probably my new secondary main

I tried to get into strive for a long time, going from sol, to baiken, to sin, and i cant tell you how hystically i was laughing while playing Elphelt. I completely love this character

Elphelt in Strive has just hammered home that Cassandra Lee Morris is my favorite voice actress and - dare I say - the greatest. Her vocal range has evolved to the point that Sean Schemmel could shit his pants in fear, the emotions that she can express vary across the board, her talent is pretty stacked up, and the fact that Cassandra can channel her previous roles when recording her current one is impressive.

One piece of advice for anyone fighting early elphelt, you can 6P her attempting to special cancel into rekka from every move except 5H and 6H. Elphelt's very fun, especially her joining sin and chipp in the "easily abuses special kara super" club with just basically being able to cancel any rekka hit into her damage super as long as she also could have continued the rekka.

There is not only an easy and consistent way to beat chain lollipop mix, there are two! YRC and Deflect Shield :D As for a hard and inconsistent but nonetheless cheap and low-risk answer, IB FD on the rekka opener (or previous hits) works too!

for me its a win win situation because its easy to play you can ask anyone to play elphelt/or train with a bot you can really improve a lot from learning how to counter an elphelt first and then do the rest of the characters

Elphelt Miss Charlotte Oki setup, after throw, tap the dash button, then do the S version of Miss Charlotte. This setup is so simple yet incredibly greasy when in the corner. When in combos, end with JD, land, then do the HS version of Miss Charlotte. These setups do very little damage without an RC, but they are still very strong mix up situations.
