I HIGHLY RECOMMEND.... I truly love the gun butter. I haven't had any issues with fouling. It works way better then the Lube I used to make with beeswax and Lambs tallow. after I clean my guns. i also lubricate the internals using the gun butter. It works great.

For all my smokeless cast bullet loads (which is about all I load now) I use HT coated bullets which require no lubricant. The guns actually stay cleaner than when shooting jacketed bullets For competitions several countries will only allow cast bullets if they are coated.

Blackie!.. what is the melting temperature of that bullet lube!? I live in ARIZONA and sometimes hunt and or shoot in temperatures up to 115 degrees. When out in those temperatures, I carry my firearms barrels pointed down to minimize my cast bullet lube from contaminating the black powder load! I dip lube my black powder pistol bullets in hot lube, and set them base down on a cotton cloth that is stretched over a piece of 2×4( tightly), and when cool , use my fingertips to push down and twist the bullet on the cotton cloth to wipe the base of the bullet so as to minimize the chance of bullet lube contaminating the black powder charge in the case. In my 45-70 black powder cartridges, I drop the BP charge in the case and then put a vegetable wad over it, compress the charge, and then add a card wad, and seat the bullet with a very light crimp. I have noticed problems with black powder cartridges that were set in the heat , base down, for an hour or two not having the same power, and report as those stored bullet ends down or left in a cooler area out of the direct sun light. I have had some success with hard modern cast bullet lubes but the accuracy is just not the same. So that's why I always test the melting temperature of a black powder lube first before I use it. Have you tried this as a patch lube?

I was going to order some Gun Butter as I have seen good reviews. When I went online to order the price is $15. USD for a tin and the shipping was $15..That sealed it. I wont be buying it as It may as well be $30 a tin.
