I have a little bit of constructive criticism for the upcoming episodes, because I enjoy the podcast a lot and I am always looking forward for another episode. So, I feel like Josh cuts off Nadir a little bit to much. I would like to have more of a conversation between you two, since at the moment it seems that Nadir prepared the topic and provides the structure/ schedule of each episode and Josh talks about each point a lot. Whenever Nadir wants to add something interesting, that leads the discussion into a new direction, Josh immediately interrupts him. It would be nice if you two could hear out each other a bit more and increase Nadirs speech share on each point you are talking about :)

6:30 I know it's different than what Farfa said, but fun story anyway: back in 2018, Firewall was reprinted in the Mega Tins, before getting banned. I live in Brazil, and if you guys remember, pre-covid we had HUGE delays on products here (Farfa even made a video about the Summon Sorceress situation in Brazil), and it wasn't different with the Tins. The point is, Firewall got banned BEFORE the Tins got here, so yeah, we opened "new" product with a banned card.

I like limiting Flamberge, because it makes Nib more effective, but still does not kill it. You summon a random other fire monster with temple and convert the nib token into link spider to end on S:P plus hand traps.

Posting this while halfway through this episode. Opinion may or may not change, after finishing. Coming from Cardfight Vanguard, we have something called Choice Restrictions. Basically, you take any 2+ Cards that may be deemed as an issue and restrict them as a pair. Example Card A & Card B are restricted. If you have even a single copy of Card A, you cannot use Card B (and vice versa). It would make deck building choices a lot more varied, as well as addressing any potential issues. Just as an example (please don't roast me too hard, as I don't have a full understanding of the Current format) Choice Restrict Diabellstar with Flamberge Dragon (again. Just an example). Again, just a take. Maybe a good one, maybe a bad one. But just a take.

I had bought a case of BOSH, because I wanted a lot of the cards from that set, many Secret Rare, in playsets. I planned to play the PePe deck. Man did that emergency list brake me. I quit for like half a year after that because I was so upset having spent all that money.

The reason why sp should eventually be banned is that it basically functions as the new Verte. You can stop what your opponent is mainly going for, but if they have two bodies they can put it into this monster that gets incremental advantage ever turn (just like dpe or dragoon). The fact that it also does more than most link 3s in the game is also absurd

I think there are cases when consistency hits change how a deck plays. The biggest example I can think of is limiting delicious, where because you cant rely on my friend reveal 3 delicious the deck changed to going second, added other engines, etc.

think that frequent enough scheduled banlists are kinda better overall cause just cause you have a set date doesnt mean that you have to ban things if the format is generally fine. in cases like those they could focus on looking at things that can be removed from it. and with more frequent banlists you can get away with smaller hits to meta decks. also with regards to snake eyes a scheduled banlist actually is great cause you know how long it will take for the deck to get hit and people would prob at least have some solace in the fact that there would be something that mighr be done about it in how ever long until the next banlist either with direct or indirect hits.

2 things for future episodes. 1- maybe consider bringing some Rush Duel Links folks since it's the only way for western players who don't own a Switch to play it in an official format. 2- on the extra deck episode you guys should ABSOLUTELY bring to light how fusion summon with super poly is being pushed mostly as generic mass removal rather than a summoning mechanic

Since Snake Eyes is a big topic, there is a hand trap that i start to use against that deck that has in my opinion a good enough impact on them. This hand trap is called Knightmare Incarnation Idlee, it special summons itself if the total number of link monster on the field have a link rating of 8 or higher. Once special summoned it send all link monsters to the GY if your opponent has more link monsters on their side of the field, it also protects all Lv. 9 monster (her included) from being destroyed, so Promethean Princess can't destroy her bevor activating her effect. In mirror Matches it's better because you also can summon 1-2 link monsters to get the rating high enough. But this cards helped me a lot, she is like Zeus just for link monsters. I hope this card can help some people out if they struggle against Snake Eyes. But of course decide for yourself if this card is worth playing or side decking.

A tear vs snake eye format would be kind of interesting. A water vs fire, one using lots of handtraps one using lots of engine, the mirrors would be interesting considering how the handtraps would be chosen especially where both utilize the graveyard. I would be ok with that format

I wish Zealantis was a light monster tbh the ability to retriger Y and Z after doing something like making knightmare gryphon shuffling gryphon back with the fiendsmith and resummoning gryphon to your main monster zone sounds fun

Banning oak is a good hit from a pure snake eye perspective. The power to ss even one monster is actually crazier then you realize and the fact that he can also ss from the deck is crazy too. By banning him if the only thing they can do is normal summon ash, ash will now always go into flamberge and now you have either linkurboh and flamberge on the field which can’t go into masq without extenders or they use the card they set with temple to go into flamberge which keeps linkurboh in the deck. Bonfire will now also search for snake eyes birch so they can get another body on the field which makes it suitable to ash blossom and droll. If you ash bonefire they will hitta and take ash and then princess which can still lead to an otk going 2nd but going first they will have princess, revive flamberge, and ash and pop from flamberge effect (if you d.d crow now this effect won’t even go off cause they only have 2 instead of 3 lvl 1 monsters). This is all with I:p in the extra deck still and they are locked to fire so now they have to make make amblow and then I:p setting amblo in the spell zone making nib more effective since they use flamberge effect on amblo so temple is not that good now or they make sunlight wolf and then linkurboh then decide talker effectively having to set a snake eyes monster in the spell zone rather then an i:p. As you can see it makes the deck play smarter and is easier to hand trap and the deck will need to play more extenders effectively making them play less hand traps. Semi- limiting wanted and diabellstarer and limiting snake-eyes sinful spoils in addition to this rather then limiting one or the other (that way people still get their moneys worth) would be good because we lose 2 consistency cards which will make senario I described above more frequent rather then the end boards we see now. Again this will make the deck still have interruption and still a strong deck. They will just have to play less hand traps and more extenders. (I’m a big fan of EM:P Meowmine)

Unban chaos ruler, that brings a bunch of other decks closer the level of snake eye including tear.

The biggest issue with YGO releases compared to other CCGs; games with draft and rotation need to release multiple competitive decks at the same time. Banlist mostly roll out in MTG when cards in Standard or some other format work together in unexpected ways. If we could rope Rarran back into YGO, can we get Farfa to learn Magic: The Gathering?

Delinquent duo was the longest time on the banlist, and the second one was graceful. They both went to forbidden on the first actual banlist (with forbidden cards) and they came back for a bit. Graceful for a few format, but duo for only one, and its on the list ever since.

I think they should hit dimensional barrier this list. If we assume they hit Snake Eye the next top decks are branded and VV. It's gonna like 20-21 format with branded and swordsoul. Just who sees d barrier first.

23:22 I think the big difference is the number of times one person is expected to actually play the game. When you're playing master duel you're sitting there for 5-6 hrs straight everyday game after game after game, they expect people to get bored much faster making the solution of more frequent ban lists. In the tcg what is it? Maybe once a week at your locals? Then the however few large events during the format and maybe a single worlds. The number of times someone is expected to play the game is much smaller making the ability to spread the format out a bit longer.

Consistency hits were useful when the game was slower, like the infamous Tuner killer list in Tengu plant times limiting Striker and Earth for example, although that felt like a sell packs list in the end since T.G. Agents even at full power stood little chance against the three big decks of early ZeXaL. Now it feels like a weak slap on the wrist and a warning to sell your cards before they nuke the decks into the ground.

I actually really like Kitkallos back to 1 for multiple reasons, and I don't think its unrealistic. 1. The ishizu millers are gone, the deck is much more tame now, giving them a way to mill reliably is fine, especially with all the names at 1. 2. Lightsworn support is coming, and lightsworn tear is definitely a good selling point. 3. I dont think this combats snake eye, i think this just gives more options in the format, which is good. I've played tear and i like it, ive played against tear and ive hated it at the same time. But genuinely i think kit can come back and itll be fine, the deck will be good if it happens but its not gonna be teir 0 again.

I think they could really hit the deck while leaving it playable if they were willing to ban Baronne and limiting Ash. I'm not sure what to hit from the Fire King Engine, but they should hit it's consistency as well. Probably limit Kirrin? Snake-Eye doesn't have a lot of actual engine, so the consistency hits are big, and they also affect your follow-up and grind-game. Limit Ash isn't enough by itself

If hitting the deck without killing it regulates its price than I reccommend you do that so people can not complain about the deck because everyone has the option to play it. That is why on DB no one complains about the format and when they do they are speaking from a prespective if playing in person.

I was hoping you guys would talk about errata-ing cards so they can be unbanned. I feel like a large chunk of the list could be fixed with simple erratas

One thing that is so weird about how recent centralized metas are rn is that we know Konami TCG KNOW what’s gonna be good. And they have a chance to make a good TCG archetype to maybe shift it from 1 deck meta to a 2 deck meta. But… TCG archetypes are tier 2 at best now days.

Banning Jet Synchron to solve Snake-Eyes is doing the Konami thing of not banning the problem card, which I thought everyone hated. If Snake-Eyes has to die to preserve the somewhat innocent cards, then so be it. They are the problematic cards, after all. Also it's high time for Linkuriboh to go. Getting to send on-field card to the GY for free really is getting too strong for the game imo.

As a snake eyes player who has been abusing the deck since poplar came out, I will say flamberge has to be banned somewhere down the line. I like what the card does on the field but its effect when sent to the GY is too OP.

Why does Konami feel the need to make these decks ridiculously overkitted? I know others won’t share the same sentiment but one of the reasons I like playing hybrid decks is to play around the restrictions of the deck like Virtual World Swordsoul or Unchained Live Twins

Limiting combo pieces like SE Ash, which are necessary, but provide overly strong 2-Card combos is probably the best solution. Konami making these cards starters and extenders is just annoying tough. If SE Ash search effect was limited to its special summon, we would not have this discussion. They should have given the search and special summon effect to two different monsters imo.

I think they're going to reban jet synchron. Maybe banning appo would be cool imo I doubt they do it but it would help. I'd like to see a few of the sinful spoils cards get limited just to slap them on the wrist and force innovation. I don't like it but banning savage would be a big difference. I don't think they'd do that but getting rid of him and like IP would really hurt the deck.

1:08:11 Farfa says that unlimiting skill drain while limiting Gozen, Rivalry, TCBOO does make sense, but it really does, because the latter three are good going second, whereas skill drain does nothing going second (unless it’s paired with one of the others). Gozen, or Rivalry, or TCBOO depending on the matchup, is effectively Torrential Tribute, and paired with a Solemn Strike it basically immediately wins you the game.

I do not think you are really thinking about Linkuriboh correctly. It has been a problem card before I'm facilitating many one card Halq's that got banned. It's become a problem again, and will do so the *next* time there is a 1 axis deck. I love the card. I think it is cute. And I like Kuribohs of all kinds. I would be fine with hitting other stuff ultimately, but don't dismiss it as "not a problem card." It is.

Snake eyes is too new too ban, and not strong enough to emergency ban. I would suggest unbanning cards from older archetypes. Cards like: Broadbull, Block Dragon, and Norden.

Woah time out you can make a hero neos combo with 5 summons and dpe darklaw combo can happen in end phase specially to play around nib. But yes keep believing that nib just auto wins agains a hero deck. Lol

I would move to see an episode discussing the Dream format/ perfect state of balance/perfect banlist. Like would it be optimal to have no broken cards and 100 playable decks but none of them would be so good that you dont have to prepare specifically for it ? Or is 3/4 decks really optimal ?

limiting flamberge makes literally no sense. it wouldn't make snake eye not tier 0. it would just make fire king snake eye the only tier 0 variant of the deck. then everybody is on fire king but the deck is still tier 0. you can't just hit only pure or only fire king because everybody is gonna go like "anyways" and switch to the other variant.

How is talent a problem in handtrap format I don't understand? Fire King can shotgun you with 4 handtrap and still total combo on his turn 2 I'm sorry nobody should touch TTT.
