Enjoyed that, seeing that skidsteer pushed beyond the manufacturer's expectations was kind of fun, and I'm sure some will be telling you about damage to the machine, but from experience, the most immediate and noticeable damage when I exceed the "capabilities" of a tractor is that I have to replace the seat, where it kind of "bunches up" in the middle.🙄

Sad that there are not just lines of trucks ready to be loaded. Glad you are using some of it. I can remember clay tile being installed on our little farm.

Its amazing how much that little skid steer will pick up. Hydraulics is some amazing stuff man. I worked on hydraulics the majority of my young life.

It's hard to see that much usable material going to waste but at the same time if you don't have a job for it now or in the near future, it takes space to store and money to buy. I think you made good choices getting what you could for cheap while you could. I'm surprised you and farmer Chris weren't keeping 2 trucks on rotation.

I work for the lumber company that made the sticks that the pipe were stacked on for shipping. We sent the sticks to Texas, Colorado Florida, Ohio, New Jersey and I'm sure some other places.

I grew up on a Case 1816 skid steer, it spent a lot of time with it's back wheels off the ground.

When i worked at our local lumber yard i made a few yrips there and got flue liners and 6 inch drain tile it was a pretty neat place

Flash back to the days in the 60's using 4" clay pipe for leach fields! Put some strips of tar paper on top, a little gravel and repeat 1000 times! Cut holes in the bigger ones with chisel and make a "T".

👍It's amazing that the surrounding municipal, county, or state civil engineers don't have projects that could use these "scraps" on projects. The darn pipe was fired with fossil fuel and will be destroyed with fossil fueled equipment only to be substituted with other product made with fossil fuel. Where are the eco-warriors in your area? I'm not a real tree hugger or anything like it; just a person who doesn't like waste. I guess the argument is the time and cost of installation. So what, give the local workers a chance to add a couple of meals on the table for the extra time a project would cost. Thanks for the vid, Mike.

there is a old clay pipe kiln near here. It is amazing to see how much busted clay stuff is used in place of rip rap close to the plant.

You should find a brick layer/chimney builder & see if they want those clay flue liners instead of crushing them.

I seen a nice little trick for lifting these pipe a while ago. Get a chain and attach it to the top of the fork frame. And then get a piece of steel cut into a C shape and you can support the far end of the pipe so it doesn't put so much force in the middle.

We went to a product that is easier to work with, but the clay pipe was a locally sourced material and manufactured product. A win but maybe a bigger loss. My hometown had brick factories. The streets and sidewalks were all brick. Glad you could rescue a few.

While you were there, you should have picked up some of those +/- 4" squares! Perfect for a wine rack, then plywood, and storage on top!

Wow - Hope it works well. I suggest getting shorts or angles in case you have to join and not risk a big one if it shatters... Short ones can be used in line but might be handy.

Was reminded of my BOCES masonry class, we built a huge brick hearth / grill in class for a fundraiser and when it came time to move it from the classroom the forklift could barely budge it. Lifted as much as we could with back wheels off the ground, then the entire class climbed onto the back of the forklift to get the tires back onto / near the ground. Hadn’t yet heard of the sketchy song but it would have certainly been appropriate. Still wondering how it ever got loaded to be transported out of there, we just barely got it out side the building. Wishing you and your family the best.
