This scene is hilarious because it shows how much each team member has learned from House in the art of manipulation. They turn his weapons back against him, he can't help but be a little impressed.

It's imo House at his lowest only scheming to use and abuse his employees to compensate for loosing Cuddy. By this point he was a toxic cancer to anyone's mental health around him. He kept Chase by manipulating him into feeling even less worthy of anything. It is presented in a funny way but very dark and abusive if you think about it.

That’s not remotely true. At all. Wow, it’s like you skipped right over the part where they were living together and actually talking about the reason she felt like he needed a fresh start. Actually, that’s exactly what you did. At no point did Chase say he wanted to “work through it” here. He wanted to leave bc it was a burden. It wasn’t her idea bc she didn’t kill anyone so she’s not the guilty one. She was looking after his emotional well-being.

@@lynnerose7891 Running away is exactly what Cameron was trying to do. Chase only wanted to leave at first because Cameron suggested it (and he said it himself: "...because right now I'd basically do anything you asked me.") Then he overcame his PTSD from previous episodes and in this one made a decision to work for House. That shows growth, overcoming his guilt and problems. Just because she felt like he needed a fresh start doesn't mean that it was right for him. And let's not forget that Cameron didn't actually acknowledge what Chase did (she "forgave" him, because she blamed House for that), and tried to hold onto that misconception - that's another reason to run away, from the very people that can correct you.

I think Chase had the most interesting and genuine evolution in the show. I know he is just "rich white kid from Australia" or it seems that way in the first season but the show really shows couple points at which he changed - "killing" patient because of death of his father, punching House, being fired, the case of Duballa (very morally hard case, but in the end of the day I think Chase was right), end of his marriage and then trying to find himself. If you would tell me at season 1 that Chase one day will be head of diagnostics departament - I would laugh but in the end - he turned out to be the best fit. Even better than Forman.

@@shlokkumar9892 I disagree, I think there's elements of truth in that, but I think Chase is very capable of healthy and stable relationships. Cameron wasn't right for Chase, or vice versa, she had alot of faults too. Outside of beginning a relationship physically, I think she didn't know exactly what she needed, only what she wanted. She went for difficult people, with a moral conflict with her belief, that were broken in some ways. I think it's because she dealt with enough pain, she was attracted to people who were in forms of pain, felt she could change them. When really, I feel she was the one needing change. Instead of being at odds with the person she was interested in, I think in the end she got together with someone she's very similar to. Someone who is capable of a healthy relationship with her. On Chase's side of things, there's too many issues that prevent him from being able to. He is a very sexual person, starting on a physical level is already removing alot of the thrill of the hunt that he'd have, but also maybe devalue the relationship a bit. I do think he thought it'd just be physical, but I think it's also his perception of the relationship based on how it started. Dibala created enough friction and moral conflict that it became impossible to reconcile. He'd always be indebted to her, and honestly unable to voice an opposing voice, one that he is naturally going to have then he himself has conflicting morals with Cameron. He'd resent her eventually. Disregarding Dibala, both are doctors with very radically different ideas of treatment. Cameron likes safe options, and weighing what the patient wants. Chase wants the patient to get better, so they can live, regardless what that requires, assuming their quality of life is going to be good afterward. He won't chop off limbs from a kid, when that's a life worse than death, but he will be willing to do surgeries that may just as likely kill the patient as save them. Because if he doesn't, they'll die anyway. They're at odds in most ways. I think they're just too different to be able to have a good relationship as a couple, but I think both actively want relationships and are capable of good ones.

@nejoudtourki6000
@nejoudtourki6000 5 ай бұрын
Nope it was always toxic in away even before this because Cameron always had the “upper hand” as to say that she always made chase “chase” her (bun intended), she always had one foot out of the door in their relationship, it was already barley surviving before they got married. Cameron was never right for him, Chase just wanted her to be and she always fought then just gave in because even though she doesn’t think chase is right for her, he’s a good guy and she has history with him so she felt 1) it would be a missed opportunity 2) she owed to him to work it out because of how strongly he fell for her. She even admits it that she never loved him in a way it would have mattered or made their relationship/marriage work If it wasn’t this situation, something else would have happened and broke them up. Cameron was already “damaged” because of her first husband and her need to “fix” the person she “loves” (at the period of her life) and Chase might have been a bit “broken/damaged” but not enough for her to “fix” him That’s why they never were right for each other

But she is right though to a degree, she thought it was House in the end that caused the death even if not directly. But Chase was the one who made the decision, and she couldn't handle the idea that Chase would kill someone. Even if the person was vile. She wanted to hear him change, to be a different person. She liked broken people, at moral odds with her, maybe to swing them to her side. To "fix" them. Cameron comes off as such a bad guy through this whole situation, but honestly, if it was me I would do the exact same thing that she did. Chase did something reckless and moral compromising and while Cameron wanted to do the same, she didn't because she realized she was not capable of taking a life. Instead of leaving Chase which is what her character would be predicted to do, she decided she wanted to stay with him and work through it, albeit it in a change of location which imo is warranted considering that Chase's action is out of the character norm for him, and most likely influenced by working with House. Ultimately this event was needed for his character transformation, but it's still sad considering that they could have made it work

She lied from the beginning when she said "I can live with that". She only said it because she actually blamed House for the entire situation from the get-go, which House has neatly pointed out himself towards the end of the episode. That's why she wanted to get out of PPTH - to hold onto that view and not get the chance to correct it. Only when Chase reaffirmed his decision to her face did she change her mind. Her treating Chase like he had no free will in this matter until that point doesn't seem to me like she had much respect for him in their relationship - that's why she comes off as a bad guy. "I would do the exact same thing that she did" - So, lead them on, giving them false hope, only to crush them when they stick by their decisions you don't agree with? Besides, she finally admitted to her faults in the "Lockdown" episode.

I never understood why Cameron reacted so strongly to Chase's confession of killing that maniac. She herself killed a patient, on purpose, way back when. I guess they had to break up somehow, and maybe it was more about House's influence and such, it just never really seemed right to me.

OP must be talking about that doctor in Season 3 episode 3. However, that instance is completely different from this one. Chase murdered this guy while Cameron simply helped end the suffering of her patient who would've died anyway but more painfully. What Cameron did was Euthanasia which is why House comes to her at the end of that episode and tells her he was proud of her.
@soniccell6666

@Tony From Syracuse The police never got involved. I don’t deny Cameron would've been arrested had it been investigated, no question about it. The situations are different but still illegal nonetheless. Of course, we know they all would've been arrested for something over the years if any law enforcement was paying the slightest bit of attention to them.

I honestly believe and I have since I watched this episode that if House had not interfered Chase and Cameron probably would have stayed together. House is all about reason, but people are capable of doing things that defy logic or patterns. If he hadn't gone manipulating Cameron would almost certainly have been able to ignore or forgive Chase's "wrong-doing" (which she was the first to suggest)
@megasora4
@megasora4 Жыл бұрын
this is mostly my opinion, but i dont think house did much but speed it along. the main reason she decides she cant be with chase is because she could not accept that he would kill someone. houses interference made her think and realize it, but without him, i think she would have realized it after a long period of time in said relationship. Either by herself or with a claim of her being distant to him. this relationship might have been good at first, but this repressed feeling towards him could cause her to become toxic with him or, as i mentioned already, distance herself from him as she slowly realizes shes not ok with the choice he made and its the only thing she can think about when she thinks about chase.

I don't think they would have stayed together. It is obvious Chase developed PTSD after killing the dictator, and running away from the trauma wouldn't do any good to him. Thta would have exploded sometime and Cameron would have left.

@@megasora4 Paraphrasing: Cameron to Chase: “You killed someone, but I can live with it as long as we leave not only the team, but the hospital”. House to Cameron: “Once the full horror of your husband killing someone is realized you won’t be able to live with it and you’ll be back at the hospital & on the team”. They were both right and wrong: She did live with it for a time while they weren’t around house. I agree. I think that's the main element of her character, her relationships are not solid. They're highly toxic because she's been in too much pain, and is too focused on fixing people who have pain in all kinds of ways. She thinks she can fix people, and rather than accepting them the way they are, she sees them in their "idealized" form. A form that doesn't exist. I like to think the scene with the kid and her new husband that she's finally found someone that she can accept, but I dunno.

5:43 there's interesting part, showing how different mentalities of westerners and Russians. Russian will never tell other Russian "You owe me this." Instead it will be "Bro we got so much together, I really need your help, only this last time!" Telling someone "you owe me this" is very rude for Russian and most likely will lead to conflict and I know the reason, why, while westerners can say such things to each other.

Do you get 4 cheeseburgers and 4 large fries? or the exact thing Wilson ordered presuming he added houses order? i know being a doctor is a hard job so does Wilson want to eat 2 cheeseburgers and 2 large fries by himself? I've worked in a hospital before and people didn't seem to eat that much! The doctors in understaffed sections didn't even eat their pre-ordered lunch most of the time! so assuming Option A (4 Cheeseburgers+4 fries) seems unlikely, What choice would you make?
