Such a heartful conversation. I wonder if you can talk more about how to stop intellectualizing our emotions, I mean how could we stop overanalyzing or using sophisticated phrases to describe what we are going through? I do believe that it is one of our problems when dealing with painful emotions.

@@excellestudio What I mean here is how to be much more simpler while expressing what we are going through. I do believe that our attempts to overintellectualize our emotion is just a way to dodge them. For example, it's easier and healthier to say, "I feel envy" instead of "I experience uncomfortable emotions because someone does something". The latter expression is just a way to deny what I really feel by overanalyzing it. Use simple and direct words (like child's words) is better.

Choosing to look at the golden rule with a different perspective really hit me. If I don’t care for and love myself, how can I expect that from others? The work starts with each of us individually. I just discovered this podcast and am so grateful to continue to listen and learn. Many thanks to each of you.

There are no victims only volunteers” 😓i hear that though.a lot of the work you guys are talking about is some of the things I’ve been working on on myself. Jamies question about how to be better is something I don’t like asking myself even though I think it’s great that you do it’s hard because I tend to respond harshly to myself. So I get scared. Writing things down that I like about my self like Justin said that made me cry haha I try to do that I need to do it more often. I’ve just recently started journaling the negative thoughts I have every morning which helps a lot too. Writing I find is actually super helpful. . Another one of the things I’ve been doing involves trying to remind myself that i don’t want to be a victim and that I am not I am a survivor but it can be hard sometimes from the past things and I do sometimes get hard on myself when I slip up and “allow ” certain behaviors from other people. It’s hard to stop even yourself from allowing certain things. It’s even harder without therapy too. But I’m trying and trying is doing because trying is an action ok tyyyy. Lol This video is proof that I’m moving in the right direction. Even that bit about the voice in your head changing from negative or drill Sargent to more of a coach. That’s another thing I know for sure I’ve changed and can even catch myself if I hear the voice slipping and getting mean it’s like another voice which is me or the angel vs devil thing steps in and is like “hey that was rude” and then I’m like ‘yeah ok let’s chill out. What are the facts of the situation? Not the judgments, Michelle”. And then I’ll go from there. It’s like a reset button ha. Something that was another great reminder for me is when Liz said “there’s a correlation between how you treat yourself and how you treat others.” That is so true i needed that today. Can you tell how much I wish I was on this show? Hahah. But it kinda feels like I’m growing along side all of you and we as an audience getting to see you all grow together and individually as Liz said is really impressive and inspirational which I know is the whole point. So love you guys. Thank you for what you do. ❤❤❤

What a wonderful episode! When the questions were posed, it seemed like as if the answers are going to be huge and big things in life but so beautiful to see that often times it's the little things like knowing how to be kind to ourselves and being accountable and speaking what is on our mind is perhaps the truest form of self-respect,self-care and self -growth! I think each of you listed so many points that needs detailed attention and reflection. This conversation will be a focus point this week for me to introspect and think. Healing is indeed not linear. We all need that and the hope that we can change our inner voice. Thank you so so much for these insightful nuggets. The trio only episodes are my most favourite episodes honestly. There is so much love, encouragement, understanding and authenticity whenever you three interact. Please make atleast one trio only episode per month ? This needs to be regular and more frequent You three are the golden wizard trio that we all didn't know we needed!😇

Loved this episode so much. Thank you for sharing your hearts and definitely thank you for modelling accountability. I really love that idea Liz shared about not being victims but volunteers. It can make me uncomfortable at some point but it makes you connect with your accountability and your power and I think accountability is much much needed to be better humans. Here trying :)

DV survivor here... On the "no victims, only volunteers" statement. It's simply not true. (Think about victims of violent crimes by strangers). This statement could be used for victim blaming which is a horrible thing to do and can be re-traumatizing to victims. It's not true as a blanket statement, however, I don't mind applying the concept to some of my life experiences. I need to apply it gently, as I already struggle with self-love... but I think it could be useful in helping me realize how much power and choice I have had and have abdicated... I dont recommend repeating the statement as is, but maybe the concept could be communicated a different way.

Humanity Apology Letter (12) I genuinely apologize for every insult I've ever thrown at anyone who didn't truly deserver it (there have been many). I can't properly articulate it as I'm currently going through an epiphany after watching a video called _Multiverses, Nihilism, and How it Feels to be Alive Right Now_ by Like Stories of Old, but I'll try my best. I finally get it, I think I just needed to venture into the darker parts of my psyche for a while, wrestle with some demons (that I know aren't over, but now it's finally a conscious fight) and feel the inevitable void that one day even the universe itself will rejoin. I don't know why we exist, I don't know what happens after we die, I don't know if we're alone in the universe, I don't know if we're here by complete accident or by some higher being/greater will. I'm just scared of finding out, we all are deep down and as a species we create our own realities/problems to distract ourselves from our greatest fear. The unknown and all that it encompasses. I'm sure almost every single person I've every had an argument with online, if we met in real life, we'd get along pretty well. That's not due to being behind a screen making me feel tougher, in real life I'm actually a very chill person and person with an open sense of humor. All I want, ALL I'VE EVER WANTED since I was a kid was to just be happy and have fun. That's it and I'm confident ALL of this is shared by MOST people, even those I argue with. We all just want to peacefully/cordially distract each other and ourselves from the unknown questions of existence. This obviously doesn't magically mean the clown world is fixed and that monsters don't exist, but we don't have to be monsters ourselves in the mere disagreement of how to solve these issues. This is my first step back into the light and rebuilding my empathy. *[For The Sake of Adding More Creativity Into the World]:* If eldritch gods are real... I'm done being their puppet. Their influence has tainted me a bit, but I WILL fight it and use it for good. Use it to create and build rather than destroy. P.S. For the sake of humanity, the fire is re-lit in me, I know we have so much more to show the universe and we have so much more to see.

This doesn't change the fact that is disagree with all three of you on the solutions to these problems and that I think your conformist attitude towards how to solve the issues plaquing young men are only going to make them more miserable, but I'm going to make an attempt to build bridges (for the sake of this species) rather than destroy because if my genuine goal is for us to reach the stars and explore the universe. I want off this planet, I think we all do, we NEED to. Space is the final frontier (to an extent, so is our ocean since most of that is still a mystery) and we NEED to know if we're alone... Unless finding out isn't actually a good thing... Either way that mystery makes me want to still explore. We can't do it if we're all still bickering down here on earth.
