Just under two years ago my wife and I travelled with my son and grandson for two weeks along the Oregon coast down to northern ,California, Toward the end we went to Yosemite, it was a trip to see all those giant trees. W stopped at those two museums in Oregon. I didn't realize the place was built to house Hughes plane, that thing is a monster!!! They are amazing and the Spruce Goose is something else and it's not Spruce. I would have loved to see Hughes when he got it up into the air! So glad you could see our area of the country, I live in Ferndale,WA. Cheers, Rik Spector

I got literal goosebumps seeing you fly the same route past the Tetons that I did when I was in that area. Your video covers it a lot better than mine, but that experience was definitely worth publish on KZfaq! It's awesome seeing exactly what I saw through your lens.

It's always fun to see people touring my home state who have never been here before. And to see your videos of spots you're getting to for the first time while I'm sitting here saying "Hey, I've been there!" If I had known you were making this trip, I would have recommended a stop at Albany (S12), the oldest municipal airport in the US!

You know Josh, while many might complain about being board (thinking of my kids) sitting in a plane for so long, just think about how much time is saved by flying over driving, and what you get to see. This was just a wonderful adventure! Thank you for taking the time to share it with us.

First off I want to say Great job on this series. Second I was introduced to general aviation by my brother in-law back in July. We made a trip from Snohomish WA down the coast to Tillamook OR in his cessna 185. I now blame him for getting started in flight training.

when I watched this first time, doing a trip like this was a pipe dream, well now it happened. I flew with a friend in a C177RG from Ohio to Yellowstone, and then to Moab via the Tetons, seeing the same awesome scenery. that trip has gotten me hooked on longer flights and adventures, and next summer we are heading out to the PNW.

Definitely take the trails around St. Helensand hike the hills. It's a hell of a workout but totally worth it. If you're lucky, you'll see the minivan sized boulders that still glide down the mountain. Pro-tip: DO NOT sit on any of the many many stumps. They're each home to a species of ants.

One day in YSNP? To quote something from a Monty Python skit - 'tis but a scratch Texas may get smacked with snow by the beginning of next week. The Prog Chart indicates the potential for snow as far south as IH10. Wow, I did not know that they moved the Spruce Goose. I've been in that aircraft but it was 35+ years ago. That looks like a heck of a museum!

I have been to Evergreen Aviation Museum, its an awesome place. There is a Baby Great Lakes there that I hand propped when I was going to Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake Washington for my A and P License, back in the early 90's. I did not know it was there until I saw it and read what was written about it on the placard in front of the plane. Pretty cool thing to see something that I have actually had my hands on in a museum. And seeing the Spruce Goose was also a cool thing to see.

You hit Mt Shasta? That's... pretty dang far. In PNW there's Rainier, Mt St Explodey (Helens), Adams, Hood, Jefferson, 3 Sisters, but Shasta is waaaaay down there... Far south of even Crater Lake. Anyway, cool to see you in Oregon! I'm sure there's a million "Could-haves" on every trip you go on, but to add a couple to the list: 1. Nahalem Bay Airpark (3S7) is pretty sweet, though I suspect they had COVID restrictions because they're a state park 2. The Columbia River out at Astoria has some pretty cool bridges, and all the Cargo Ships parked out there is quite a sight 3. Copalis State (S16) up in Washington is a unique land-on-the-beach spot. Super unique. Above-average risk to visit though 4. The actual flight down the coast (We'll call it KAST->KONP) is super scenic 5. Sunriver (S21) is a resort town lots of local pilots escape to for weekends, maybe you'll visit it next episode :) 6. Crescent Lake State (5S2) (No fuel) is a gem in the middle of some campgrounds with nearby supply shops. The Northbound departure has the trees and cliffs falling away beneath you as you climb out over the lake. It is gorgeous. Good stopping point after Crater Lake, too. Glad you could visit. Obligatory "Every video you make is a love-letter to general aviation; Thanks for your amazing content!"
