Perfect, thank you. 40 seconds in and I knew what I needed to do to adapt a Monument internal spanner to remove the 'spud' from my old radiator. The monkey wrench made it much easier and protected these old hands from any more pain. Thank you again.

lol I found this tool at a flea market and have been using it to install different size cam bearing when I do rear or front brakes on a bus lol. Its good to know what it was for. People were telling me it was a part of a transmission from a farm tractor. lol great video thanks

Cool! Wondered why it’s called a radiator spud wrench. I use it for toilet and I urinal spuds.

You'd be wise to put teflon tape clockwise on those threads as it will seal better and allow for easier removal if ever required.

Where can I buy a 1.25" spud pipe and union nut for a steam radiator? Is the thing you screw into the radiator with the spud wrench properly called a spud pipe? Or does it have a different name?

what about the condensate return side? it usually breaks and doesnt have those spokes

So, is this how you would disassemble the Radiator? Take the internal bushing out one section at a time?

They rarely work on old spuds. I can’t remember one ever actually working.

well, no, thats not an internal pipe wrench at all.
