This video series is a project log of me fixing my vehicle instead of taking it to a mechanic. I'd never done anything more than regular vehicle maintenance so this was very overwhelming to start. My confidence grew and I feel much more comfortable attempting bigger projects on my own after doing this. I do make some mistakes along the way and I don't hide anything during this project log. I was quoted over $3000 for the job but did it myself for just the cost of a few parts and my time. I did the whole project without too many "fancy tools" other than my when my neighbor helped me remove one part with a puller and his impact gun.

This is basically how I started off. My first day as a Mechanic's trainee, we got a job to change an engine at the side of the road. I knew almost nothing except "lefty loosey, righty tighty" but I was genuinely interested and in less than 2 years, I started working on cars by myself as a side hustle

Hey i have a 03 matrix that im in the middle of this job on bjt doing the clutch flywheel etc. Which was way more difficult than yours due to bolts rusted and seized/snapping off. Anyway when laying on the ground under the car with the subframe removed looking up at the exhaust manifold, umderneath on my car left biased and about middle height of the block theres a cut off wire with something sticking out the block, i was wondering if you knew what this was/used to be. The car runs fine other than the slipping clutch. No MIL, no issues in live data, no codes at all. Cand find any diagram or picture that identifies this please help!!

How did you get those diagrams of assemblies that show up on the video? Is that from a Toyota Technicians manual or All Data DIY or Haynes/Chilton? I am a starter DIYer.. thus curious.

Also.. just curious on what is your opinion on the wooden wheel cribs folks build using 2X4s as a substitute to jack stands? There are tons of videos on wooden wheel cribs using 2X4s.

@@user-db2mj7bg4c never tried but would work if all solid wood that isn't rotten. I've found stands used or borrowed for peace of mind

Many things with be similar. I have only done it to my 2005 with a C59 Transmission. I taught myself from watching a bunch of different videos and reading some manuals. First time trying this and what you are seeing is me documenting the steps I took that ended up fixing my issue. Hope some of it helps!
