We just shot two more videos using a kettlebell to 1. help find the "float" and 2. Progress you capacity to be as strong and balanced as possible on the balls of your feet.

I’ve been doing those myself for a while. Starting to notice a callus building up on my right side 4th and 5th metatarsal

try adjusting the surface your on if the callus is interfering. A nice yoga mat can make a difference.

Thanks for the video, more clarity on the position. Is there anything I can watch to better understand why to do it this way? What are the implications of staying on the 4th/5th metatarsals? Does it encourage more calcaneal eversion because the forefoot is relatively inverted?

I'll continue to post/teach on this... The basic "why" is to increase strength and balance on the balls of your feet. The 4th & 5th metatarsal bones tie in structurally to the calcaneus (heel bone), whereas the 1st, 2nd & 3rd metatarsals tie in to the talus (floating bone above calcaneus). By finding balance on the "Green Dots" (4th & 5th metatarsal heads), you are essential leveraging the structural integrity of the heel bone, but leveraged forward to the metatarsal heads. This capacity also prepares your body for a more integrated exchange with the entire foot during locomotion, from a sequencing/coordination standpoint. Key to finding the 45 Float is matching Spine & Shin angles so that Tensional Balance is equalized throughout the entire body - making movement feel easier/efficient and more powerful.
