Johan and JB break down the first of it's kind gravel sector stage 9. Johan also did some research on what a very young Biniam Girmay was accomplishing even as a junior.

JB2 is the TDF podcast I'd choose if I could only watch one. Johan's comments on the race and the sport are super insightful, and JB does a great job as moderator.

This was by far the most entertaining stage so far. Stop the whining, don't forget that professional sports can only exist if they can provide something exciting to watch. Enough snooze fests on perfect conditions. A stage like this once in a while is a welcome change.

Two nearly dead boring sprint stages have shown that these stages are needed and the long flat stages need to end. The green jersey needs to go to an all around rider, not a designed sprinter and boring flat stages.

Mentioning Tom Pidcock makes me think that he desperately needs to leave Ineos, it will kill his career - he looks miserable over the last few months when his schedule was changed. Ineos have made the decision to back Rodríguez and Bernal over Pidcock. Shame as Rodríguez is just a Dani Martinez clone (boring), and Bernal is not the rider he was in in 2019, neither winners, just top ten.

If parts of a course where riders clip oot and run don't belong in cycling, what about the Arenberg Forest, Koppenberg or the Mur de Huy? I've seen clipping out and running cyclists there more than once. And nobody would dare to cancel these races…

It’s way to easy to shoot holes in Johan’s take here. Roubaix is 250KMs with 55KMs of cobbles NOT gravel. Pog said it was nowhere near as hard as riding cobbles. The TDF is about finding the greatest cyclist in the world. This was 20 miles of gravel. 20 miles. One of the best stages I have ever seen in a TDF.

Made the same comment on the other pod- It's a one-day race in the middle of a Grand Tour. Everybody loves the one-day classics, but it's one day. You win or lose that day, regardless of what happens. That sort of thing shouldn't be in a three-week race.

Johan? Just because you have to get off your bike and run doesn't mean it shouldn't be in a race or the tour. You don't want to get caught in the traffic jam and run? Then get your butt to the front of the race and stop hanging out at the back.

The prep of Visma was so thorough that earlier in the season Jonas did training sessions on Tratnik's bike. This wasn't luck. They planned for the worst scenario.

It was a great stage. We've seen enough 200km snoozefests. This one provided entertainment and that's what sport should be - entertaining.

Love the Move and JB2 - the best analysis available. Lance, George, Spencer, Johan are the best at analyzing everything in cycling.

Part of the "how does he get stronger?" answer comes from Johan's look into some of the top rider's Strava data that revealed that Pogacar, for example, burned just roughly 400 calories per hour during a recent sprinters stage. That is active recovery watts for even an amateur cyclist.

100% ASO wanted some sort of “drama” - they don’t out and out want someone to get hurt, but what do you think happens on cobbles and gravel?

JB.. this was an epic stage…we are tired of 200km stages flat with no competition till the last 500m.. ASO should keep gravel. Fans keeps this sport alive and fans love this gravel stages
