There was a study comparing the effect of cocaine and cold showers. It showed that the maximum dopamine release which is why people do cocaine for that feeling is the same. The different is for cocaine it peaks straight away whereas with cold showers it peaks when you are out.

Girl, I get it. I'm a serial single gal too, and I always feel pressure to do certain things with others because it's the social norm. But, we have to live our lives! Getting a midnight snack is so fun, definitely something you can do on your own. Means you don't have to share your snacks with anyone either 😉

Fabulous! I do cold showers too. And ice baths. It is all about breathing techniques. See if you can find few videos of Wim Hof explaining how he does the breath and cold showers and ice baths. Or better yet sign up for his on line course Fundamentals (I hardly recommend). Practicing his breath technique every morning makes me happy for no reason and it regulates my mood in such a simple yet beautiful way:) I swear by it. Love seeing you smiling. xoxo

I live near the beaches of Newcastle (NSW) and i am always hearing surf reports saying that the ocean temp is around 18 degrees in Winter.. That doesn't sound THAT cold compared to the 9 degrees that i wake up to. Soooo yes, it is warmer in the ocean (in Australia's Winter) BUT freezing when you get out? 🥶

When I was a teenager I decided it was a good idea to jump into a pool in Winter in Victoria in the snow. Let’s say’s it didn’t end well I went into shock and just stood there when I resurfaced I just couldn’t move next thing I remember is being lifted out by my Dad. He was laughing at me shaking his head saying you bloody dickhead
