I didn’t know about the battery 🔋 option for these cars that’s huge love the channel ...

Great video and explanation, don’t have a Challenger but when I changed out my wheels and tires on my Mustang I especially looked for lightweight tires. I noticed tire manufacturers’ weighed differently among the same sized tire. I found Michelin PSS and Continental Extreme Contact Sport we’re lighter than other tires. Also, lighter wheels help too on the drivetrain with less rotating mass, I am partial to TSWs. Again, great informative video. 👍🏻

The 392 is competitive with Mustangs and Camaros bone stock on the street and the dragstrip, in my experience. But, weight loss or full race prep will definitely help your ET, so good content !! 17'' rims would help as well, instead of the stock 20"

I think lightweight drag Tires and Wheels might be a good idea as well. I run race stars on the front, and I run fr500 17 inch wheels on the back, as a drag only setup. I'm not going to change my brakes, but I will pull my passenger seat and everything else you said, plus lightweight front and rear bumper supports, a 40-lb savings

Do you think that brand would sound good on a challenger like yours? And I also loved the tip you gave on the offset muffler tips. I was like... Wow I would have never thought of that. Great info! You reduced a lot of weight without seriously compromising crash safety. I've seen a lot of other weight reduction tips on Mopar forums and some of them are pretty unsafe. Great stuff! I'll definitely be looking into the brakes because I want better performance and weight savings. Which ones do you recommend?

Thought no one would get around to this. I wold leave the mat in the rear for better weight transfer, get a light hood ( fiberglass or carbon fiber ) and keep most of the reduction on the front. Thanks, like your vids!

Floor mats, OEM sound deadening, rear deck cover and speakers, any plastic in the engine bay, etc. You can also take off exhaust, air filter and manifold, etc.

I don't recall seeing in this, you can also run an aftermarket exhaust like a borla or a magnaflow. Slightly Increased performance, better sound, and much lighter than the factory mufflers and resonators.

How about the hood? Wouldn't recommend a hood delete but at least a carbon fiber hood?

One of the first things that I did was to get rid of the factory pipes on my Challenger SRT8 as they are big bulky and heavy. I replaced them with 3in SLP loudmouths and consist of 2 bullets and there isn't much to them as they are much lighter than the factory pipes and a rock

That was extremely helpful, the funny thing I just figured out a way of how to calculate how much hp my car gains for each pound the car of reduction! You just calculate the percentage that you lost of total curb weight and add it to your hp. You will find how much hp you’re gaining 🔥👌🏻

Another way to cut weight, and one of the best places to cut it, is going with lighter wheels. It cuts unsprung weight AND rotating mass, a win/win. Unsprung weight is the enemy of handling, rotating mass is the enemy of acceleration. Saving 5 pounds per wheel is like losing 40 pounds elsewhere in the car, and if you've got the bank, you can save more than 20 pounds per wheel going from a cast OEM to a quality forged 20 inch, and if cost is no object, CF wheels are amazing.

Whenever I get my redeye widebody (hopefully in a year or two) I would delete the rear seats Get sparco seats for driver and passenger Take all the plastic from the interior The center console and get a custom carbon pieces Full titanium exhaust Forged piece wheels Remove the trucks plastic covers Quick release steering wheel Remove the consoles parts for lane assist Blind spot monitor (etc, if it comes equipped) The battery and get a lighter battery Remove the windshield fluid reservoir While still keeping a stock interior car Just fine some lightweight carpet and headliner Carbon door trim Still being stock maybe that will reach under 4000lb 🤔🤔🤔

Don’t know if anyone said this but I did this on my red procharged challenger. I did the lightweight front bumper mount from speed logix saved 25lbs. Wanted to do the rear but never got around to it

I would guess maybe give thought to purchasing a challenger without the moon roof sun roof option will shed another' 100 pounds off the car as well?

I'm surprised you didn't mention smaller rims. Generally speaking, smaller diameter rims with correct sized tires are much lighter than larger diameter rims with correct sized tires.

You wont gain hp. The car would just have better power to weight ratio. Same 485hp just less weight for it to pull or push. Therefore getting from point A to B more efficiently

I've got this 07 SRT and I'm workin on making it outrun A10 SS, A10 GT, and the 392. I'm currently at 404whp with FBO+ Jay Greene Tune. Now I'm gonna work on weight reduction. With my current setup, I weigh 4100lbs @ 404whp. I ran a 1/2 car length behind a scat pack Charger. I predict i'd be 1-2 cars behind the lighter Challenger scat. I predict i'm 3 cars behind both the A10 Mustang and Camaro. If I do a cam then I can outrun them guaranteed, I just don't want to drop the money on it... Would ported and polished heads/intake give me enough? It's a fun project tho since it's so low cost.

My trunk seems heavy as hell when opening it. Wondering how much it weighs, same with the hood.

To be fair its much cheaper to make insane amounts of horse power from the challenger. Last time I check if you put 15k into one you could make 1000-2000+ horse power. So with weight reduction that could be about 0.5hp per pound.

400lbs is the size of three adults. Do you notice a power difference when there are passengers in the car or not?

The only thing I would be careful with is the fuel tank, fuel injected systems actually use the fuel to lubricate the valves and running below a half tank of gas can actually cause damage to your valves and fuel pump in the long wrong just keep that in mind.

I've seen a lot of companies that are selling carbon fiber hoods fenders and Trunks it would make a huge weight savings and that's without touching anything in your car other than that
