Al told the story of how this song came to be. He got the idea to do a song about Charles Nelson Reilly and then went to talk to his estate and spoke to Charles Nelson Reilly's partner, whose only request was that Al 'not make him look like a sissy'.

I love Al's "Style Parodies" - where he doesn't take a specific song by a group/performer, but borrows riffs from this hit of theirs, that solo from another hit, etc. and makes something that sounds like the parodied band *would*perform* :)

Sometimes it seems that it's the only reason for many artists and bands to exist. Weird Al rules!

Sid and Marty Krofft were the only persons in all of recorded time who could harness the pure awesomeness of Charles Nelson Reilly. The Match Game and Hollywood Squares were mere containment fields that worked for only a brief time. Chuck Norris and Clint Eastwood learned at his feet. Charles Bronson was named after him.

I would LOVE to see The White Stripes cover this when they start touring again. Weird Al's got Meg's drumming down perfectly...not that it's difficult at all.
