[Chorus]:
I eat filet mignon seven times a day
My bathtub's filled with Perrier
What can I say?
This is the life
I buy a dozen cars when I'm in the mood
I hire somebody to chew my food
I'm an upwardly mobile dude
This is the life
They say that money corrupts you
But I can't really tell
I got the whole world at my feet
And I think it's pretty swell

man this is low-key a really well-choreographed video. Al's natural presence really shines with each move and pose he does, particularly in that last bit near the end, and the image with him showboating while everyone around him scrounges for bills on the floor is both visually interesting and thematic. The chandelier drop timed with the high-hat punctuation at the end of the song is the kind of extra step of creativity and attention to detail that made Al outlast all the artists he was parodying.

I just realized, Al's new song "first world problems" is like a modern flip side of this song. Think about it. He buys a dozen cars when he's in the mood, but he can't figure out which he drove. He eats at least 7 times a day so he doesn't have enough room to put all of what he buys in the fridge. Why would someone who can throw that much money into the wind and hires someone to chew their food bother to do their own gardening and if he doesn't pay his dues, why would he need to remember the gardener's name?

But, but, this song was one of the best parts of the movie!!! TT_TT When you say that the re-released DVD doesn't feature it - do you mean there were 2 DVD releases (in different years/from different publishers), and the song *was* included on the first version? Or do you mean that this song is only included in earlier formats (ie VHS)?

I remember going to see this movie as a kid and my theatre was packed to see this movie. The measure of success was different for movies back then. His originals are almost always "style parodies". Usually when an artist doesn't give him permission to parody a specific song he parodies their style. Examples: "Traffic Jam" (Prince), "Ringtone" (Queen), "Pancreas" (Beach Boys), "Close But No Cigar" (Cake), and many more
