Weird World Building #1 - Jujutsu Kaisen

As mentioned, I hope to make this into a series, but let's talk about it more when there's at least a #2 on the channel (which I am working on). I've got a HxH video in the pipeline as well, but that one's proven a bit more complicated than I initially thought. Go figure.

Q: do you enjoy the higher amount of transitions in the videos or not? Feels like I may've gone a bit overboard, but I may simply need to work on doing them more smoothly. Whacha think?

I enjoyed the transitions but they could be a bit smoother. Maybe have them bleed over one another for situations where they don't have to change so fast to keep up with the sentence they're accompanying

You brought up a good point, but I think you forgot a big one. That being how curses and curse users can remain hidden when some much wreckage in public areas and establishments has already occurred. When gojo spars with sukuna, a big hole was left on the side of the school; when gojo was attacked by the volcano curse, a crater was left on the road; when yuuji fought with mahito, he put holes on many walls and left a hole on the side of the building (school). So how does the world react to these things happening when they seem to be unaware of the fact that curses are real?

I actually did consider this and in retrospect I should've included it. There's been no established way in which the Association deals with that nor have they been shown to possess any institutional power with regards to the media, and what not. The most we have to go on is that the local police apparently have a vague idea that there is something beyond their power and authority out there. I may included if I ever make a part two or something like that. Great point.

We actually see in the Gojo past arc that the higher ups have such influence in the non jujutsu society that they blame a house being destroyed by Gojo for a gas leak We also see after the shibuya incident that the Japanese government are aware of curses and just hide their presence from society

@@Misericorde451 only minor ones, I'd argue that sorcerers normally use barriers to hide areas they are fighting in from normal people, like gojo did when yuta and Mali fought that curse in jjk o moive. Although it's not shown it's safe to assume that the damage gets fixed eventually. Also normal people can't even see cursed energy

without going into spoilers, some 1000+ year old thumb guy restricted curse energy only to japan, and curses are powered by the cursed energy of those that believe in them. so, satan would only manifest from japanese people, which are generally nonreligious, so he would be weak

Good eye in noticing it's HxH, however, it's Hisoka's hand, I believe. He broke them while trying to sustain his Bungee Gum vs Razor's serve.

1.I agree shotgun to tank is a massive jump. personally I think it would work better if grade 2 required a high powered rifle(like elephant gun or 50 bmg for example). This would put grade three in the wolf-> bear range, grade 2 is hippos, rhinos, elephants and lightly armoured vehicles and grade 1 is tanks. 2. Mange spoilers but there is an explanation for japan being curse central. 3. Also on the point humanity being wiped out by curses. It is worth noting that sorcerers are typically significantly stronger than curses. The disaster curses which are some of the strongest curses ever could be simultaneously bodied by any of 4 special grade sorcerers not just gojo. 4. Minor spoiler but inanimate objects also have souls as souls in JJK are more based on the Shinto belief system rather than western ideas of a soul. Therefore I don't think having a soul carries any more moral weight than pointing out humans and animals are both made of carbon. 5.As someone who practices actual jiu jitsu the spelling in Jujutsu Kaisen always throws me off.

3. Ah, I've been caught up to the manga for a while now, this is a fairly old video. But thanks for not spoiling just in case someone else looks at it. My point was more along the lines that, while curses are mostly confined to Japan, it's difficult to imagine that a black plague curse wouldn't have come about during the pandemic in Europe in medieval times. Even if thr curse wasn't special grade (which is difficult to imagine considering how pervasive and horrific that period was), it would've proliferated unabaited for who knows how long until hitting critical mass.

@@theoverthinker348 I think a black death cause would definitely be a thing(we know there is a small pox one after all) but since it is not part of japan it would probably be much weaker then. I also agree detection for any such curses would be the biggest problem. However eventually either by cursed traces, the large amounts of cursed energy it gives and or the bodies in its wake the curse would be detected. And Soccercs would not have much trouble killing it given that they can kill the fear of humans which sadly I think is just about the most powerful I think curses can get. So humanity will probably survive. Having said that I have no idea how said black death curses rampage remains a secret even with curses being invisible and veils being a thing. Which honestly is a major criticism I have in most secret magic societies like I love HxH but how is nen a secret when it is literally broadcast on TV.

But miguel is not japanese,and then why do yuta need international exchange then? I think jujutsu also exist outside japan just loke miguel come from seems like theres shaman stuff in africa which i think equivalent to jujutsu in japan

Yeah but that also just brings up the questions of why Japan of all countries is the main focal point from where all curses come from
