It's officially a series now! I had a few ideas for a number 5, but I wasn't super enticed by any of them and I really didn't it want to feel ham-fisted. It does kind of go against the KND numbering theme though... Eh, what can you do.
Hope you enjoy and feedback is, as always, much appreciated!

Quirks breaking the laws of physics makes sense. We hear all for one mention how he has quirks that he will use to corner the market of needs like food and water and such. By that logic it means these quirks go above and beyond the laws and with single people having them they won't affect the overall universe. Animal boy let's chalk it up to plot. Why is class A so weak as well? Class B and other schools have stronger quirk users and more useful and powerful people in general. I would have made class A just a class not the best and then rotate the cast into who the best are so deiku can be with the actual good and strong people Honestly the real question is how did everyone in episode one even exist? Class that deiku was in all used their quirks which is basically what the liberation army wanted to have happen so it was basically a plot hole. Same with how all might was gonna give up if not for deiku Also the whole deiku is tbe chosen one because he has no quirk thing doesn't make sense either as we know it was not the original plan as the movie basically had what the ending was gonna be but the series isa mess overall now

Fair, but: a) he'd be risking them getting crushed b) with that many participants it's hard to imagine that those with more combat-oriented quirks wouldn't outpace him in gathering points c) it's arguable how many animals he had access to in that sanctioned-off arena

1. Koda passed through rescue points, same as Izuku, who also had no combat points. The real question you need to ask is how Mineta passed, since he has neither combat capabilities nor is that helpful. One possible explanation is that certain heroes were given different types of tests based on their quirks. 2. A. The entire area costs a lot, but not all of it gets demolished after an exam. There's just some damage, and that can be easily repaired by various quirk users. You mentioned wood? Kamui Woods can create wood. I'm not sure the buildings are full of electronics, just lights. The initial cost is offset by the fact that it is used to train heroes, who will then go on to save society billions by preventing damage to private and public property by various villains. Post-exam cleanup is likely handled by robots. Technology seems to be extremely advanced in this series. B. It's about design and hardness. A 1-Point droid can smash through a wall by breaking it with it's battering arm, but Aoyama's laser can smash the droid's center. This is possible if the arm is reinforced, but the center is not. Aoyama hit the droid's center, not it's arm. Also, Navel Laser can destroy walls as well. So yeah. The droids are programmed for various tasks. In the festival we see medical support droids. Robots are used for many things in this series. Creating higher quality droids might be too much of a risk. If a villain ever comes along who has the ability to control technology, he or she could use those droids to attack innocent people, and the heroes would have a difficult time stopping them. This is why most droids are kept in a state that makes it easier for the good people in society to keep them under control. C. It's as safe as they can make it, but there is always the possibility of kids getting hurt or dying. The robots don't go wild. They are controlled remotely, and their attacks are calculated to avoid killing anyone outright. That said, accidents do happen. Again, it's as safe as UA can make it. There is no way for UA to account for a participant doing something as reckless as Izuku. He used his quirk to break his legs by jumping roughly 100 feet into the air, then broke his arm to smash the robot. Falling back down without a way to save himself is all on him, not UA. 3. Yes, some quirks are magic. Some are science. Some are supernatural or conceptual. I don't really see the problem here. As for energy to effect ratio, I'm not even sure Bakugo is a good example to use if you're taking issue with calories or energy conversion. As you mention, Bakugo sweats nitro. Theoretically, this wouldn't take much energy on Bakugo's part. The nitro's chemical composition itself is where the energy potential comes from. Once that is achieved, it's a simple matter of detonating it. A better example to use would be Momo's creation quirk. She's converting lipids into larger structures made of dense steel, as well as various other elements. But again, quirks are "magic". So it doesn't matter. If there are quirks that can cause animals to understand things Koda says to them, then there can be quirks that create matter or energy greater than what was used to create them. 4. I think that was established pretty early on. You don't need a quirk to become a hero. This is what Izuku wanted to be true from the day he found out he had no quirk. Turns out, what makes you a hero is your will to help others even at the cost of your own life. So.. that's it? Is this video a complaint about My Hero Academia or just a bunch of observations?

MANGA SPOILERS BELOW IN POINT 4. Hah, I did frame it as needless over-analyzation, did I not? Since most of these are headcannon (well thought out as it nonetheless is) I'll focus on the points I can potentially falsify: 2. C) In hero work accidents can definitely occur, that is true, but it looked like absolutely no extra measures were taken to ensure the safety of the kids, who btw, at this point are not even close to be called 'pro heroes'. I'd understand this argument after they've received at least some training and been assessed, but precautions should be made for candidates like Deku or any other unforeseeable events. He was literally inches from potential death and enormous blowback for the school. They got into deep trouble when the students were 'simply' put in a dangerous situation later on. Imagine if Deku had actually died during an evaluation exam to get into the school. 3. I agree w/your point regarding Bakugou. He'd still need to waste calories to initiate the reaction, however, that could be at a rather miniscule cost for him. I should've used someone like Momo, along with Deku and Shoto. 4. I don't fully follow this point. I'd understand it if the original premise, where Deku was quirkless had been kept, but now he's pretty much 'quirks incarnate' and this IS the story of him becoming the greatest hero. Seems kind of counter-narrative.

@@theoverthinker348 I suppose you did frame it that way, yeah. 2. C. Well I'm sure there were safety measures in place, even if they weren't visible to the audience. That's just how UA does things. Like when the press trespassed on school grounds and the fortified walls came up. They went from unseen to clearly visible in a matter of seconds. So in Ururaka's case, she was pinned under some debris and it seemed like she was going to get run over by the giant droid. Well, she wouldn't have been. UA's technicians would have stopped the droid short of her location by remote control. Thus she would have been fine. Izuku leaping ten stories into the air without a way to land is not something UA can easily account for, and had he died, his death would have been on his own head for making such a reckless move. Also, I'm sure the participants did receive some form of training before being thrown headfirst into these tests. Izuku himself received training from All Might before this. Though I have always thought All Might signed Izuku up for the course too soon. I think he should have trained Izuku more and waited for him to strengthen his body to withstand the quirk. I guess All Might was just desperate to have Izuku take over as soon as possible. And didn't Izuku only narrowly make it in based on the various instructors voting? It's been a while since I saw that episode. Well, that's the thing about unforeseeable events... If a potential student uses their quirk in a reckless way that endangers their own life, what can UA really do about it within a matter of seconds? I mean, what, have a Star Trek type of transporter that beams them out at the first sign of possible death? That's the only way to account for a kid being reckless. Even then, what's to stop Bakugo from potentially blowing himself up on accident? Not sure if that would have blown back on the school. Even if a kid were to outright be killed due to UA property, such as by a droid or falling debris, each kid agreed to undergo the exam where they all knew they could get seriously injured or worse. In Izuku's case it wouldn't have even been a question. He leapt over 100 feet into the air and then fell to his death because he used his quirk improperly. Open and shut. It's similar to how that Gentleman guy misused his quirk to try and save someone but ended up obstructing a hero and causing more injury. He got blamed for it and was ruled to have been at fault, despite a hero being on the scene. I will write though that it seemed like the public was shown to be more critical of the school in later episodes. Early episodes were like, "Yeah, you might die kid. Ha ha ha." While later episodes were like, "We're terribly sorry that these students were put in danger by villains who chose to attack them." If I had to explain it though, I would say people were mad at the fact UA didn't take enough precautions to secure the location against the League of Villains, knowing they were still operational. Also, I think Horikoshi took a turn in the storyline regarding the news media. Under All Might, the news media was fawning over him and supportive. Not that he didn't earn it, but still. Then the media turned into the kind we see in our world today. If it bleeds it leads. Controversy! Scandal! Discontent! If All Might were still on the scene, the current news media would be saying, "Sure he saved everyone, but what about all the property damage? Couldn't he have gotten there before any villains put people at risk in the first place?" 3. Thanks. 4. Izuku was only chosen because of his heroic actions, not because of any quirk he already had. And spoilers, it was revealed he was one of the best candidates All Might could have chosen exactly because he was quirkless, though All Might didn't know this at the time. Also, Deku's major strength is his outlook and perspective on life, not his quirk. Deku is continuously used as an example of someone who holds virtuous beliefs, and throughout the series it is made clear that his quirk is destructive to his own body. Yet he keeps using it to save others. Why? Because of his inner strength of character (not that I consider Izuku to be a strong character thematically, but he's portrayed as having strength of character). You might look at it and say, "Oh, he has a quirk, that contradicts the message", but the message remains if you see One For All as a factor that often works against Deku. In many ways it's another obstacle for him to overcome in order to fulfill his dream of being a hero. His quirk doesn't automatically make things go his way. He still has to endure the strain of the quirk and persevere in spite of the pain and stress, and he still has to think of various strategies to defeat the villains and protect people. Ultimately, being a hero comes from within that individual's soul, not from their quirk. Plenty of people have quirks, but aren't heroic. Villains have powerful quirks, but are villains nonetheless. Gentleman tried to be a hero but couldn't even though his heart was in the right place. Also, plenty of cops out there who don't have quirks (or have useless ones) that still serve and protect, and can in a literal sense be called heroes. Finally, to solidify this point, I have to give credit to best girl Kyoka Jiro. The rock concert she put on undid the trauma that Overhaul inflicted on best girl Eri. Her singing and base-playing, and overall performance in general, came from her soul and lifted the darkness off of Eri's soul. No quirk did that. It was something personal. Something from within. She was Eri's hero in that moment. This is illustrated in Kyoka's flashbacks to her parents telling her that musicians are like heroes too.

Mineta still has abilities and even beat midnight and came up with that technique in the 1-a vs 1b fight. We should really be asking why invisible girl is in the class, she doesn’t even really have much of a power, apparently she can make light reflect off of her body somehow for some reason, but i think we’ve only seen it once anyway
